Hi Guys, I just found this website and believe you me. I'm an ethuastist about tattoos. I mean, REALLY into it. I read up about everything, and I know that it's a hard business to get into. However, I'm really passionate about it. The only but is my family and most of my friends, even my boyfriend aren't very supportive. I was wondering since I have a year left of high school to go, how you guys got through this? I know I'm young and stuff, but you truly do not know how much I LOVE tattoos.
I hope pros dont mind if I answer this, but no one else has :) One of the key elements of becoming a tattoo artist is that first you have to have skills in drawing, painting etc. I repeat, FIRST comes the artistic skills, THEN and only after it, you can even THINK about tattooing. Which you ONLY do under the watchfull eye of a experienced tattoo artist. So this ist the first step. 1. Show us what you have done (draw, painted etc) If you havent. Then maybe think about art classes and such.
I fought this ongoing battle with my parents until I was out of college. The only solution I came up with was move out.
Right- I get what your saying. Thanks. And I'll post some of my stuff on here. Hopefully it's not horrible..><
the first thing you learn is do no harm!!! find someone who will teach you from the bottom up,cause if you start at the top you will fall, but if you start at the bottom up can only rise with thr right help.just be patient take your time in learning,
in the end, you have to make the choice of who you want to make happy. sometimes, what will make those around you happy is not what makes you happy. i caught quite a bit of slack when i first started out. but i followed through. since, i have tattooed both of my parents and my wife. if its what you want to do, go for it, but make sure u go about it the right way. your family will come around when they see it makes you happy.
