I am looking for a female artist who tattoos or is willing to learn im planning on opening a studio on the southern coast of california. im looking for diversity in the shop with male and female tattoo artists. theres already another male,besides myself,thats going to be working with me. Well to say a little about myself i am a 22yr old latina living in the So Cal area. I have been doing tattoos for about 5yrs now. I have taken numerous art classes and try to broaden my art skills on my own time in such areas as, computerized drawing, wood burning, and painting. I am certified CPR/First Aid and know first hand on cross contamination and so forth from completing and recieving my medical assisting certification. I am ready and willing to put forth full dedication to the shop and the learning process if given the chance. I am 18 years old, and all of my life, I stringed behind my talented brother,whom taught me everything I know. He lives in Reno Ca. and he has his own Tattoo business going on. So recently I have been thinking of trying to get things together to get in the rhealm. I have lots of art, from oil and chalk pastels, from pencil to charcoal,paints, you name it. I wont ever do a piece that doesn't have a story or meaning behind it, I do most pencil work and most realistic as possible. Hi! I'm not sure if this is still current, but... I am a 33 year old female tattoo artist, currently residing in Idaho. I am originally from California and also spent a lot of time in Utah with my tattoo artist father who wrote the state law and ordinance there. I started my apprenticeship when I was just 6 years old and did my first tattoo for $ when I was 8. I took over my father's shop in Utah after he passed away, until I closed it to move back to CA several years ago to be near my family after I suffered a debilitating stroke, where I worked at a shop in Bakersfield briefly, (no where near my family) and also one in Port Hueneme for awhile (much closer to the family!) I have been at my current shop now for a year, and I really love it, but I am getting pretty home-sick! I am a wife of 11 1/2 years, and a mother of 3 young boys who have all expressed an interest in eventually following in the artistic family business. I am currently a (mostly) straight A Junior in College pursuing a bachelor degree in business management. My ultimate goal is to eventually open another shop. To me, tattooing is about art and self-expression, NOT about sex and (pardon me) getting laid. Having been in and around this industry my whole life I have seen the right and wrong ways of doing business, and have little time in my life for wasting time and energy on self-defeating behavior and situations. I am fun-loving and friendly, smart and articulate, and I really only take two two things seriously, my family and my job. I had planned on going to college and get a degree in art, then go to a tattoo school and evetually down the line open up my own shop. I've been Tattooing for over 3 years yet a shop in Oklahoma is pretty slim to none when your 75 miles in rural country and the bible belt doesnt help much. I'm Really interrested in doing something like this. I'm a killer painter and have a passion for tattoos. I've been researching schools wiht no luck and beginning to get scared since I kno wthat tattooing is the only career for me. The only thing is, I'm from Antigua and have never lived in the US.
