First Tattoo

Hi everyone, I have been wanting to get a tattoo for the past couple of years, but was turned off to the idea after my husband's cousin got a tattoo for her 18th birthday of two dolphins in a circle on her shoulder blade and the quality was terrible. It looked as if she had done it herself without a mirror - the lines were all squiggly and it was very plain. Over all I was just not impressed and didn't want something like that on my body the rest of my life. Then, after watching a special on the artform, I saw how awesome tattoos can look (big or small) and now the desire for my own is renewed. Can anyone recommend a good artist in the Southern California reigion? I am willing to drive out of town if it means me being pleased with the work. I'd like someone that has been featured, has a specialty, or has LOTS of experience. Help! Thanks!
