First time tattoo and you are thinking of your neck? [please tell us it's the back of your neck at least.] Between the 2- the neck hurts more. Regardless it's mroe about where you want to see your tattoo f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Pain should be secondary to the love of the tattoo. Good luck

I had my first one on my outer ankle and yeah it really hurt - a lot. But it's all well worth it. Now that I'm over the pain, I'm going for my second one, but I'm going for my lower back (hopefully that won't hurt as much, but I'm guessing, you're gonna feel it no matter where you get it). Anyone know why you can't take painkillers when you go for these things?
