Five days later

I got my tat dun last Sunday and now its been a complete week. My skin is slowly growing back over it, but not i all areas, is this normal? I mean they siad it sould only take five days to heal, and to continue putting on the A&D ointment. THe area around the black ink is red and i'm curious as to is this normal, or is there something wrong?

Without seeing the tattoo, it's really tough to tell, but 5 days is quick for a complete heal; usually 2-3 weeks is average for the flaking and/or scabbing to finish, then it takes a few more weeks for the new layer of skin to grow over it and blend with the unworked areas; sometimes sooner, sometimes longer. If you have any serious concerns, you should see the artist that performed the work and get their opinion.
