I got my first tattoo tonight, something I have been wanting for years, and I am REALLY happy with it. It is on the top of my left foot and fairly small, about two inches long and half an inch tall. I run about 3 times a week and I don't want to damage my tattoo by sweating or rubbing too much but don't want to just stop running altogether until it heals. I have been doing some research and reading some of the posts on here and I am wondering if it would be okay to cover up the tattoo with plastic wrap only while running (I run for about 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week) and remove it immediately after the run. The shoes I wear to work allow the tattoo to be exposed to the air pretty much 100% of the time besides when I run. Is this plan of action okay?
Foot tat and running

I wouldn't do that. The plastic wrap will make your feet sweat even more and feet are a breeding ground for bacteria, nevermind trapping it there with the plastic wrap.
Just my opinion. You need to take care of the tattoo while it's healing, even if it's inconvienient. It can be the difference between a good heal and having to have it re-worked. Think of it as recovering from an injury.
You wouldn't get a cosmetic proceedure on your face and then step into a boxing ring before it was healed. Same logic here. :)

Thanks for your feedback. I guess I will have to put the running on the back burner for a few weeks.
