Foot Tattoo Fading! Help!

6 messages · last activity 2/15/2008

Hi guys, wonder if u could help! I had a tattoo on my foot done just over a month ago. now this is my third and ive found in the past i usually heal up pretty damn quick. this one however is not only still quite scabby its also looking extremely faded! already!?!? Is this normal? I havent worn 'closed shoes' since having it done so its not been rubbing on anything and have used tattoo goo aftercare products! im totally confused cos when it was first done it was so bright! Help!!
tattoo goo is crap, the worst one ive used, it just makes the scab mushy and come off. try just not putting anything on it and keeping it dry.
Well first off the Tattoo Goo isn't the problem however the amount you're using could be. You are only supposed to use a very light layer, so it isn't even shiny... Also you should only be using it for no more than three days after getting inked. ( Everyone's tattoo aftercare is different, so three days is more or less of a guideline, but definitely do not use it for a long time) Second of all, where is the tattoo? If it is on the side of the foot it will most likely fall out from constant rubbing and shedding.
Hi guys thanks for your feedback. Ive only been using the goo sparingly so im sure its not that anyway! the tattoo is right on the top of my foot so it has nothing rubbing on it, thats why i cant understand whats happened to it. it hurt like a bitch and im not keen on going through it again but it really looks like it needs to be re-done! Im so annoyed!!
Was this done at a licensed shop with knowledgeable artists?
I have a tattoo on the top of my foot. I got it done in September and it's still as vibrant as the day it was done. I dont know if that has anything to do with the fact that I was still able to wear sandals until winter hit, forcing me to wear socks and sneakers. But it still looks great Today. I used A&D ointment, used it for 2 days and every now and then I'll put a non scented lotion on - my feet tend to get dry in the winter. lol My suggestion would be, if you feel its absolutely necessary to have it re colored, then wait until the warmer weather hits that way you can wear a more open shoe so theres no rubbing until it's fully healed. Good Luck.
