getting started as a tattoo artist

i was wondering how to get started as a tatto artist, there doesnt seem to be to many helpful resources in my area. any suggestions?

i was wondering the same thing. there arnt alot of sources and the ones there are arnt really help full

Let me try to field this before the guys show up ^^ If you havent read the sticky about wanting to learn, then go read that. There is no easy road, and everyone will just tell you the same thing that is said up there, because -thats- the way you do it. Get your art together, make it presentable. Visit plenty of tattoo shops, look at -their- portfolios, get to know the guys that run them. Show them your art, showcase *your* style and capabilities. Don't go in with an ego, any preconceived notions etc... The only thing that should be in the forefront of your mind is that you are going to work hard for this.... Chances are you are going to be the shop monkey... doing everything from answering phones, to scrubbing the floors, etc. These guys get asked this question over and over again... :) Make sure you read the sticky! :)
