Girl Interrupted; Farewell to the Forum

Okay, since the thread with all of yesterday's drama has been deleted, and some apparently missed out on it as it unfolded...............and due to the calls and emails I received yesterday, I want to explain my own decision to abstain from further posting on this forum. The newest member of the TattooNOW family, Melissa, took a lot of relentless bashing, again mostly from myself, and never responded in a maliciously insulting manner. When most other's would have said 'Fuck this!', she stood her ground, and addressed each critical comment (as she continues to do) one at a time, in a thoughtful, reserved manner. She has never treated obvious satire as a personal attack, or a serious sexual advance on her. Then there's another member who's been a regular on here for longer than I have, who seems to take issue with, or is offended by, at least half of everything that is said on here. As difficult as it is to believe, even I have edited the content of some of my posts to avoid conflict with this person, whose answer to everything is shouded in an aire of violence............................or, am I just misconstruing their playful disposition? The gist of yesterday's events amounted to various opinions and speculation as to why certain members were removing their photos from the family site. Some thought that it may have been the result of sexual comments made by myself, alluding to a scenario of self gratification with the photos, and I myself don't dispute that that may have well been the reason. I made it perfectly clear, however, that it's ridiculous to think that people aren't going to look at photos of members in their MySpace's, or personal websites, if that were a motive. Gabe seemed to ride the fence the entire day, touting free speech, while at the same time telling me he doesn't want to read about sexual fantasies (fair enough), and asking if it's any wonder that some members removed their photo's, and then in another breath telling me that this wasn't the situation, and that I was the one overreacting....................................of course, there's no longer any evidence of what went down, so only those of us who were there really know. Kmama posted near the end of the thread, telling us that TattooNOW is Gabes shining example of free speach...........................well where is the free exchange of speech and ideas that transpired yesterday? At any rate, TAz, Al, J-werk, Doc, theval, Ras, Melissa, and others, I've had a great time on the forum with you guys...............and I hope to meet all of you guys at TAzFEST. I agree that TattooNOW is a great thing, but it's not the thing for me...........................I will not alter or edit what I say on here to just to appease a few, especially when the incriminating comments were made late one night during what amounted to an online chat between three of us. I will also no longer walk on eggshells to avoid accidentally sending one particular member off the deep end....................... While I'm positive that this will be viewed as good riddance by some, still I will miss conversing with you guys on this forum, but for those of you who were generally on the same page, and in the same reality as I was, you're always free to email me........or call. Tim I hate to see ya go pal and I'm sure I speak for most of us here on the forum...Take heart in the fact that we will strive to carry on in your tradition always. As I told you during our phone conversations I think this whole affair was a lot of overreacting and miscommunicationa and in reality shouldn't have amounted to a hill of beans...no one I think was overly offended by your only slightly off color sexual innuendo or if they were they sure didn't say anything...oh yeah one person did...after the fact ...but then again that person seems to be offended by damn near anything anyone says! And as I said I don't really believe anyone was actually trying to censor you...ok maybe one person ....just to be a bit more circumspect....even so I just don't think it was or should have been made into such a big deal...No one had their pic removed because of anything you said, that is just fact I sincerely hope that you reconsider your decision and come back to help and provide us with your "comic relief" as it were...if not well thats ok too...cause if ya think for one minute that we (the Family) are gonna let ya just slide into oblivion you are dead wrong!...We are gonna continue to e-mail ya ...call ya at all hours of the night and hey ya never know who might show up at yer doorstep in the middle of the night...or at the foot of your bed holding a clipchord!!! Once in the Family...only one way out....Feet first!! HA HA HA HA I respect your decision...don't agree with it...but respect it nevertheless...so go go sit in your lazy boy with a handful of womens footwear magazines and a pitcher of TAzblasters and know that we will be here in the trenches awaiting your return... I'm a lurker, don't post much but here are my thoughts. Why is it, on almost every forum I have been on, there is at some point a "I'm leaving and you all suck!!" post? It's filled with melodramatic reasons as to why they are leaving, who they love, who they don't..etc. If you truly like the people here, aside from a few, ignore the politics and post away. Millions of people have access to the internet and forums. Not all million people are going to get along. If people want to be anynomous, then why in the hell would you send a picture? Don't want anyone knowing what you look like..don't post a picture. Didnt like something someone said...ignore it and keep on trucking. It's simple.

Once again guys...it seems like I just gotta say it again...TCEs little sexcapades on the late night posts had nothing to do with anyone taking down their damned pics...The pic thing was just no big deal but has been used as a scapegoat for this whole silly ass mess...TCE thought ( and rightly so) (to an extent) that he could no longer feel comfortable being who he is on this forum....I think it sucks and I am gonna miss him but I have faith that he will be back...hell he is just gonna miss us too badly to stay away!!...T

My god, then once again I must say that TCE's sexscapades did indeed remind people (more than one) that there are loads of pervs out there in internetland and indeed is directly(because of what he said) or in-directly(because he reminded people about whos out there surfing) responsible for people pulling and/or not putting up images. FACT. If TCE cant be himself here because I ASKED him not to talk about fantasizing sexually and publicly about other visitors, then whatever. I did pull a thread down that got out of hand(no question it got out of hand and worth pulling) and another that everyone was whining about at the same time, if he thinks that makes me the big bad censor and cant stick around then thats his right. Personally, I think if someone makes a big deal and drama out of leaving and not coming back, then they should... Less drama in the long run.

People. Let's just remember that this is TATTOONow. It's not TNANow, InternetSexNow, BashEveryoneNow, etc. Let's stick to the reason that this site was created - tattoos.

The TattooNOW Family Pictures Q: Why did people take down their pictures? A: Because they didn't want them up in the first place. Q: Why did people put them up if they didn't want them up? A: Because they acted on impulse, didn't think it through, and decided that their original choice was not a good one. Q: Why can't people change their mind? A: They can, but that doesn't change the fact that they acted on impulse, didn't think it through, and then decided that their original choice was not a good one. Ducky's Comments: Once a picture is posted ANYWHERE on the internet, you can NEVER get rid of it. It's out there somewhere. If you have/have had a myspace profile, you are out there for good. If you have a yahoo email account and put a picture on your profile, you are out there for good. If you put a picture up on your photobucket or your geocities or any of those picture hosting things, you are out there for good. Get over it, and think first next time if that's not what you want. Not to sound cruel, but if you don't think first, i don't pitty you.... i mean, off-topic blather is great! if it's used moderately....but the whole morning check in, night check in thing is gettin on my nerves....everyone flocks to that and then no other questions seem to be answered very quickly. oh well as for the weather, YIKES! i think we've had like 3-5 days (not in a row thank God) where it's been over 100 degrees.
