good sources for old tattoos

hey you guys! can anyone suggst any good books or anything that i can find old, traditional sailor and/or pirate tattoos? I want things that were actually popular/done way way back. any on either or both would be great, as i'd like to research and find some things to pull ideas for mine.

I wonder what sort of tattoos real pirates had ,if any ?

and the million dollar questions....if they had any....what was their ink derived from??? Urine? Charchoal? Berries??? Sea Water?? Maybe the dye from a squid???? hmmmmm anyone, anyone.. Mike
