GUNS

I might catch hell from non-tattooists on this one but listen up. I think i speak for a lot of tattoo artists when i'm telling y'all to stop calling tattoo machines 'Guns'. They're not guns at all, they aint shooting paint or staples or bullets or any thing else dammit. Theres a needle, rookies. Anyone who wants to learn how to tattoo? Heres lesson numero uno: You'll get that much more respect from your mentor if you dont call it a gun... Please. Thanx

Agreed. Calling it a gun shows complete ignorance and disrespect. A tattoo machine and a gun have absolutely nothing in common, and the instrument used to tattoo does not require some third grade mentality connection to firearms, in order to be cool. It is plenty cool enough on it's own.

YUP AGREE TOTALY. but i have heard over in england and those parts they do call them guns and find it silly to be called a machine.but were not there so say it with me m-a-c-h-i-n-e thankyou class is over for this lesson
