I had a client come in the other day with a HORRIBLE red reaction. A cherry creek viking and the whole beard is red. I haven't had to deal with red reactions before, so I'm pretty clueless. His doctor had given him some cream that stopped the itching, but it was still puffy and quite shitty looking. Anyway, he told me that the original artist he went to told him that if he went over the red with distilled water and a mag, it should release the stuff causing the reaction (his words). So, have any of you tried something like this? It sounds kind of hokey in a way and in a strange way, it kind of makes sense. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks bunches.
Have any of you tried this?

Another thing I heard once. Something about because the red pigment is made from iron oxide, if your had a tetanus shot, that should help take care of it. Just curious about the truth behind that one, or is it some voodoo, weird scientology thing?
I knew a guy who had fabulous work on his legs. It was absolutley pristine except for wherever there was gray-wash. It was all bumpy and maroon colored because there was something in the wash that his body didn't agree with. Could have been bacteria, could have just been an alergic reaction. It went away very slowly...it took months.
I don't know about this distilled water thing. It might make it worse, especially since it's already irritated.
I occasionally have slight flare-ups on the red bits of some of my tatts; i have a feeling it's cheap ink.
On me, it reacts when i take calcium (who needs bones and teeth anyway), or if i consume a lot of asian food (msg, i was told).
I have heard of the distilled water method with certain rashes etc., so it should work (clean distilled water will cause no damage anyway).
I hope it wasn't scream ink, their red has been pulled from shelves because of too many bad reactions.
Any fool that thinks iron oxide causes tetanus is an a** hole!! Sterile pigment does not contain the bacteria Clostridium tetanus, which is tetanus! Iron oxide has nothing, I REPEAT, IRON OXIDE HAS NOTHING to do with tetanus. Get that through you burned out mind! Enough said!
I do water purification for a living specializing in distilled water. Distilled water is the purest for of water and will remove toxins from the body by washing or drinking. We installed water distillers in Tattoo shops for the artist to use when thinning the ink. The reson for using the distilled water is that there is nothing in it. 99.99% pure water. No contaminents if anyone has any question on ditillers for there shop or just question on distilled water in general feel free to e mail me at [email removed]

WOW. forgot your midol today?
Actually Midol does nothing to relieve irritability in women. it only helps with bloating and cramps.
The More You Know
The red reaction will have to be bled out ,while its still soft blistered. That will allow the pigment to excape , its a bit messy , but it works more often than not .
cool, so OSD, what do you recommend? Vagistat1 or Vagisil? i'm baking a loaf of bread.....
and i think it's sourdough.
