I am considering getting a hawaiian word, possibly my name or another that means a lot to me, on my foot. I went to Hawaii this past summer and have fallen completely in love with the atmosphere, culture, and just the whole experience in general. Anyway, I have been trying to do my research to make sure that it is as "accurate" as possible as far as the culture goes. I wasn't sure if there was a certain look to the lettering that is customary throughout the islands, or if it was just be whatever look I prefer? Also, any other advice as far as being culturally acceptable would be great. Thanks in advance :)

I'm getting really anxious to get this tattoo, but was wondering if anyone could help me out with my question? I've been trying to do my research, but you guys [some of you :)] seem to know what you're talking about so i thought maybe you could help me out? Thanks!
Emily, have you considered contacting an artist in Hawai? That would probably help you out the most since most of us in the states are ignorant to ancient cultures.... Just a thought and my opinion....J
Thats an idea.. i knew Taz said earlier that he had tattooed on Maui for awhile, wasn't sure if he was going to be able to help me out or not.. thanks though! (:
