Help me choose...

Hey y'all, I've been thinking a lot about my second tatoo and I've got it narrowed down to a couple of possibilities. Wondering if anyone would care to weigh in on what you think is a cooler idea. I've been going through a considerable amount of shit right now with possible divorce I was thinking a little about perserverance against the odds, so one of my ideas is: 1. Circular design containing 3 traditional style Japanese Koi, Large black one representing the father, and 2 smaller ones (pink) ones representing my twin daughters. Swimming together almost in a Yin Yang Shape? Maybe some water look as if you are seeing them from above. 2. Another thought is to do Kwan Yin (Kuan Yin) on my free shoulder, she's the chinese buddha of infinite compassion. She's also the protector of women and children, and happens to be the patron saint of my style of Martial Art. If I did her, I'd have her standing in the surf with protective Chinese dragons coiled around her legs. Wondering what you guys think. Feel free to weigh in. Or, if it elicits any other cool ideas, let me know...
Aw, c'mon. Nobody wants to weigh in? Throw down guys, I'm serious about this and I really respect everybody's opinion on this forum... rather you agree with me or not. Lemme know what you think Which choice to you like more? Or maybe both suck?
I think that if youre on here asking us to help you decide, then you gotta lot of balls for saying that 14 yr olds have no right to get tattooed.....You can't even decide and youre an adult......So that proves the point of not all adults are the same and not all minors are the same....
Al I really love the idea of Kuan Yin...Do IT!!!!!!...TAz
The Koi sounds nice. I've notice that if you don't have an artist who can tatto a Koi well, they look weird. The Kwan Yin sounds lovely. Divorce is never easy, I'm really sorry.
Legacy, it's obvious you're still too immature to decipher between an adult getting opinions on two ink options he's already thought through, and a 14 year old who can't make a decision on what shirt to wear in the morning...let alone what to choose to put on his body permanently (aside from coverup and removal). Did you know that you don't truly leave adolescence behind until around 25? Of course not, you're all grown up at 14. From 14 to 25 you have nine years to change and grow. Your opinions, attitudes, tolerance levels, likes, and dislikes will change drastically. Food for thought. Don't compare a responsible adult to a child.
Al chaeck yer email about our little problem here!!...TAz
11 years. I got distracted when i was typing!
I like your style Jules!...TAz...Oh yeah..thanks for posting!
The point is if he thought them through then he wouldnt need our assurance..Now if you would have said something like oh he cant make up his mind and hes not gonna get the tattoo until he does then that would have been a better arguement.. .....One thing I have noticed in this whole arguement is obviously there are two sides....the kind who hate people who tattoo minors and the people who see nothing wrong with tattooing minors if there is a logical reason behind the tattoo....on one side its mainly keep and he keeps giving you guys factual responses not opinion....and you guys keep giving him back opinion+insult and no fact...well with the exception of that some of you personally have had a tattoo that you got before you were 18 and regret it....but that fact is irrelevant to a completely different person under 18...so in essence you guys arent giving him fact at all.....it reads something like this....oh youre an idiot if you tattoo 14 yr olds....you aint professional.....they'll get sick of it....they'll regret it ...I fucked up so you'll fuck up to.....I got a tattoo when I was 14 and I hate it.....Its impossible for a 14 yr old to know what they want........ These are all responses that I heard about why you should not tattoo 14 yr olds and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them is an OPINION.!!!!! But I guess I am the only one who noticed that...............
Taz, send it to my other email... the one I sent you the logo stuff on... that way it will come to this computer instead of my wifes... Sometimes she doesn't remember to tell me I've got mail...
Al that one is on my other computer...send me that one..T
Okay, check yer email.
Legacy, Legacy, Legacy. If you go back and read my post here, you will see that it says "Wondering what you guys think" and "Would anyone care to weigh in". See, the point is that I will make this decision on my own, regardless of what other people think. But the whole point of having a tattoo forum is so that you can talk to other people who are friendly and like minded... people who have maybe more experience than I do... people that do it day in and day out, and can sometimes offer advice or even opposing viewpoints even if they have differing opinions than my own. See, what makes this thing great is that tattoos are kind of a lesson in patience. Once you think you've got it all figured out, then you can talk to some other people in the know, and they give you their input as well. Some of it you like, some of it you don't, and occasionally somebody gives you an idea that you didn't think of before. It's kinda like life. The point of life isn't the life, it's the journey. Besides, this forum is a really great way to make friends with a bunch of people that you might not have normally even got the chance to meet. It's fun. Or else, why even come on? Which is why even though you've chosen to come on my post and be immature and combative and turn a pleasant topic into something shitty, i respect your opinion on this. So, I have taken your response to heart for what it is worth, and will consider it along with any other opinions that people chose to give me. I INVITED YOU, and I am plenty big enough to deal with your answer whatever it may be. To clarify a few final points from the other posts I noticed you've been so busy on... 1. I answered your question about driving age. I told you I was leaning toward 18, and I explained to you why. Go back and look. Which, if you ride your train for a minute will bring you to the conclusion that I don't think anyone should be tattooed before the age of consent, and for the reasons stated in the driving age exchange I PERSONALLY BELIEVE that's about 18. 2. I did not stop my debate with you because Taz told me to (though obviously he has a lot more sense than me) He's not my Dad. And though I am grateful for his friendship I don't need Taz or anyone else to speak for me. I stopped the exchange because I gave you three chances to develop a proactive arguement and you couldn't do it. At that point, as I said, you became a mental midget, and it became a drain on my time when there are so many other positive people on this forum I could be dialoguing with. 3. Finally, I just got done reading another post where Taz to his credit told you that he thought you owed me an apology, and you basically staunchly dug in your heels and said no fucking way. Taz was trying to keep things honorable, which says a lot about him. I never asked him to do that, and would have told him not to do that if I had known. Believe me dude, I couldn't care less if you apologized to me for anything. Frankly, if you truly believe what you were saying, then you don't owe me an apology for anything... a lively debate is a lively debate. At this point in my life Homeshack, I'm pretty solid on who I am. Believe me, an apology or not from you makes about as much difference as a speck of dust on a gnat's balls. You just aren't a factor. I may, however, at my descretion ask my friends for their opinion on my ideas if I wish. Do I need to? No. Do I chose to? As a member of the human race who DOES NOT KNOW everything, yes. It's my choice. And, so, along those lines, and since I invited you into a friendly discussion, quit acting like such a fucking baby and tell me which of the two ideas you like better... the Kwan Yin, or the Koi, and if you don't mind, tell me why...
I can give you a slew of links regarding 14 year olds and decision making. They will contain fact. Simply put, someone who is 14 years old does not have the experience or maturity to make a life long decision. Would you have a 14 year old make the decision to have a child? Life long decisions should happen AFTER you leave adolescence.

understood but who decides when you leave adolescense? didnt you say that you are still maturing until you are 25? so is 18 still too young in your opinion? there are plenty of cultures out there where children are considered adults as soon as they hit puberty.
Thanks very much to you guys who threw down on this topic for me! I appreciate it!

I think both ideas are great, and the only question in my mind is who is the artist doing the work and maybe they would want to run with one idea more than the other. as far as the thread hyjack, the FACT is that VERY few tattoos done on underage kids are done to professional standards. but go talk about that on those threads.
Thanks Gabe! That's good advice. Most likely it will be one of the guys at Twisted Sol... or hell, when I get the money etc. Maybe it'll even be TAZ! I'm sure it would be worth the experience to go out there just for that one alone!
ah yeah, Twisted Sol is where Jime Litwalk guests when hes out there I believe. There are some great artists there! Hey Taz, I was gonna ask where yer portfolio is but then I realized we will be starting yer site soon!
Well DUH!!!!!!!
