Hey guys I really need some advice. I got a tattoo yesterday. Well, I tattooed myself yesterday. I know it was an extremely stupid thing to do, and I certainly regret it. I got ink (from a marker) and a needle (sewing needle) and poked the ink into my skin. I did it on my wrist and now it is very red, puffy, and sore. I did not sterilize anything. I know it was really dumb, but please don't be rude, just help me. Is it infected? Do I have AIDS? Do I have cancer? I'm really worried, please offer me your advice. Thanks.
yes im going to rag you for this stupid think you did!you cant get cancer from doing something stupid like this.if the marker was a non toxic marker you will make it. the needle on the other hand is the problem.if the needle was used by someone that had that had aids or hep then you got something to worry about.the way thinks look you have a staff infection.which in it self can be nasty thing.you need to get to the doctor as soon as you can.do us a favor and learn from your dumb mistakes now.if you want a tattoo there is and im sure of this theres is probaly a lot of shops in your neck of the woods .got to some of them and check out the artists that work there and choose the best one that fits you.we all make dumb mistakes and we learn from them and the next time we know better.please let me know how things work out and you will be in my prayers .hoped i helped JAY from the KINGS INK MEMEPHIS TN
Thank you very much Jay :) You were much better than the guy who answered on my other post (I double-posted by accident). The needle was barely used at all, I think it was new actually. The marker was a permanent one, it doesn't say non-toxic on it so I'm guessing it is toxic. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to have it checked out. Thanks!
lol just like to mention me and all my friends did this when we where 14 or 15.Cmon...its not that stupid a thing to do....lol we "sterilized" a lol nail and used pen ink but they all completely faded within like 12 days. Poof.
So you think his is NOT stupid?.....in this day of Hep, hiv and MRSA ( do you even know what that means?....telling people on a public forum that this isn't stupid can encourage people to try this dangerous and possibly fatal process is STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HIV is a fragile virus and can not live outside the body for more than 48 hours (exceptions being fluid incased in a syringe and things of a similar nature of course). Your biggest worry is Hep A.B and C (Also you can get shots to immunise you against these diseases), but everyone else who used the needle probably sewed with it and wasn't doing any home poked tattoos. I would definately go to the Dr about the possibility of the ink from the marker being toxic or you could be having an allergic reaction to the ink. Also remember that even if the redness does subside you are going to have a mess on your wrist for as long as it lasts, maybe you'll be lucky and it will fade out in a few weeks/months or you might be like myself and be stuck with them for 7 years and counting. I'm assuming that your under 18 as you sought to do this yourself instead of going to a shop. Just think about the crap you'll end up with if you keep doing this and next time you get the desire for a tattoo...WAIT!
Not to condone your actions but yeah you're not the only one that tried the ol needle and thread pokey poke method. Stupid actions don't make you stupid forever. Failing to learn from them does. AIDs is most likely not your worry at this time , unless this was a group effot. Hepatitis could be though. Seems like you've got it under control, go see a doctor and like Bubbles said , next time put some serious thought and consideration into ideas that have the potential to harm you or at the very least effect you till you're dead. Best of luck. and sorry if it's humurous to me and others , it does have serious potential to harm your body.
Just to clarify, when me and mine did this we used seperate nails (again lol) for each of us, and sterilized them the best we could. We where camping and it was a fun kinda bonding moment of our young lives.Just something we did and really it was pretty badass at the time. Figured having a nail in the coals of a fire for a good 15 minutes would kill anything worth worrying about.
Good effort my old chap, i doubt if you will get cancer or AIDS. You might get the hanta virus or ebola from a dirty needle
