Help with my design?

7 messages · last activity 5/19/2007

Hi everyone! I seem to find this site every time I'm looking up information for my first tattoo, so I figured I might as well post my questions in a new topic! My plan for my tattoo is BASICALLY a maple leaf, but I wanted to do something unique with it. Lately I've been considering having the outline of a maple leaf in white (as if it's glowing) and then red shading. But I have a few concerns: 1. I read in another thread that white ink doesn't hold well in skin that tans easily (which is my case), and 2. I've heard that red ink is the fastest to fade. One more thing, it's going to be relatively small, and either on my shoulder or over my heart. If anyone has any answers, comments or even ideas for an alternate design (still involving a maple leaf at bare minimum!) then I'm open to hear it! Thanks alot! Alanna
The best thing is to go to one of these artists in Canada Steve Moore www.getmooretattoos.com Adam Sky www.adamsky.com They will be able to help you and do basicly anything that your imagination is yearning :) They can design you a tattoo that is totally CUSTOM, meaning, that NO ONE will have the same desing. Totally unique :)
And of course www.strangeworldtattoo.com
Hey, thanks for the help, but I live in Ottawa Ontario, it would be a little too far to go to Vancouver... even Toronto is a stretch for a student like me haha. I'm not too concerned about the artist, I've decided to go with the guy my family goes to, I'm more concerned right now with the design... but I suppose I should just talk to the artist eh? Thanks for your help anyway!
BACK UP BUDDY!!! You should be MORE concerned with the artist than the design! A good artist can take any design and do a great tattoo from it by changing this and that etc etc. A bad artist can have the best design in the world and it will still end up as mediocre at best. Thank about it.
Oh I know! Don't get me wrong, I just meant I've already got an artist in mind, I still have to check out his portfolio, but this guy tattooed my dad and his tattoo turned out great. Canada's not exactly a small country (I realise that the majority of you are american)... but I can't just hop on a plane to BC when I live in Ontario. I know that the artist is most important, and I know that I have to do some looking around and research and all that, but I wasn't really looking for suggestions of artists "in canada".. Thanks! -Alanna
Cool Alanna! Make sure to post a pic, we would love to see it!
