How many tats?

27 messages · last activity 6/4/2006

Okay friends, How many is too many? Reason I ask is I have a shoulder piece, Taz is working on another one for me as well, (cant' imagine it will be small) and I just came up with another good idea. At what point do you need to knock it off, or else you just turn into that dude at the circus sideshow? (which might be okay) Can never have too many? When I'm done saying all that I wanna to say? When I run out of cash? What about the ladies? Is there such a thing as too many on a guy ladies? Is there a point where it's overkill? What do you Belly Dancers think?
Shit Al, I didn't think this would be that hard of a question to have some imput on, but dammit; I'm vexed......J
You are done when ya run out of skin dammit!!...T
I love a (wo)man with some ink!~! That said.... I find more and more, that I dislike huge peices where theres alot of "filler". I like to SEE what is THERE. I've seen alot of guys lately where they have alot of hoopla around the main focal point, and theres so much going on, that you cant really tell what the tattoo -is- in the first place. I can think of a few I've seen in the last couple of weeks, where the guy would have a full sleeve, and all I could see is that there was alot of smoke or flame, but I couldnt find the objects/goddesses/etc that the tattoo was focused around. Am I making sense? Or has work melted my brain so badly that I"m just speaking nonsense and drooling over here?
Naw that makes total sense... Kinda saying let the pieces be what they are, don't just connect the dots for the sake of connecting the dots... that about sum it up? I like taz's idea too... I think I run out of skin at the neck though... Why you vexed Werk?
From a womans point.... As Taz said... when you run out of skin.. never to much.. =) Keep thinking up those ideas...
Exactly! That's exactly what I meant! Thank you :) -Saiyge (who returns to her corner and straight jacket)
When I was younger and working as a waitress a sweet old man saw one of my tattoos and said “ya know, a tattoo on a woman is like a bumper sticker on a Mercedes” it was very funny.
Al, your question isnt stupid, but from what ive read in your past posts, i would have never guessed you would be having issues with this. I think alot of people get to a point when they ask themselves, if they have gone too far, or have just enough. and while there are a few that quit and never get any more work done, I have found that the majority always come back for more. Now, ive never been a belly dancer, However, I did stay at a Holliday Inn Express, where I have played with a few, AND GOD, THE ONES THAT WERE TATTOOED WERE GREAT!!! Body Art is addictive, and to make matters worse, the human race is gluttonous by nature, so with that I say to you Al, GET ALL THE INK DONE YOU CAN, FEED THE ADDICTION PIG, and be happy your addiction is for great ink work, and not some dumbass drug. good luck with the art AL, Mortis
Yeah Mortis, I don't have much of a problem with it, but I do feel like I am kind of in a zone where maybe 3 good sized ones is enough? I think my question is kind of stupid and insecure now that I think about it, because where I'm coming from is that I'm APPARENTLY about to become separated from my wife (her idea) and didn't want to do something that would limit my chances of really meeting another great woman eventually... but then again, if any woman would judge you on something like that, she's probably not so deep anyway, and not worth wasting the time on. So the more I think about it, I say... that was a fucking dumb insecure question. I'm not like that. I must have had a lapse in judgement for a moment. I'll finish when I run out of skin, or have nothing else to say. Thanks for the facial slap Mortis. I feel better.
No thing as 2 many tats !!!
i have something very good to say to this, but when i tried to post before, it kept giving me an error...and i saved it, but it's on my laptop! so, tonight or tomorrow, i'll put in my response n.n
Al don't make me come all the way to Colorado just to bitch slap ya boy!!!....You answered yer own question!...If they judge ya on how many beautiful pieces of art ya got on yer hide then what else are they gonna judge ya for?.....If they don't want you for you ...FUCK EM and LEAVE EM IN THE DUST!!!!! TAz
Umm by the way Al.....ya don't REALLY think yer gonna stop at three do ya?......SHEEEE.....ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMMITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...T
No. I seriously doubt it Taz man. Thanks for the bitch slappin y'all! I'm a little afraid of Ducky's incoming though.....
lol, what are you afraid of? "lol, whoever you get with should be appreciative of your self-expression, and therefore, be excited the more you are able to express yourself! My fiance doesn't like the idea of getting a piercing, but he likes to see them on me because he knows i enjoy them! That's when it boils down to what you are looking for...yourself to be happy with someone who loves you for who you are, or yourself to be unhappy to please someone because they are physically appealing but not much else. (not saying you do that, but a lot of people do!) Now, the non-girl side of it...IT'S UP TO YOU!!! When you feel you have enough, then you should stop :) if you feel you would be happier with more, you should save up and get more! If tattoos are about self expression, it should not matter who else thinks you have enough/not enough" that's what i wrote yesterday or whenever :)
Thanks Babe, that helps. I guess that wasn't so scary.
No prob! :D
Well Al, I was vexed because it question has a reasonably simple answer.... Some reason though, I started asking myself the same questions you were asking yourself....Then my I cluster fucked myself.... geeez! Do you do that to yourself often? lol. If you do, knock it off... it hurts!
I've been clusterfucking myself more now that my wife wants a separation... no wait, that's... no...I... oh forget it.
That's a cluster fuck I can relate to.... Feels like someone sitting on your chest sometimes.... Today's one of those days.... fuck.... *sigh*
I'm interested in the Mercedez/bumper sticker analogy, i.e . tattoos cheapen a woman. My interpretation. Let me ask this. At what age is a woman getting a tattoo not seen as sexy or edgy, but just ink on an old palette? Sad thought. Does it apply to men?
I think with all of the new and modern supliment this, herbal that, t*t*l gym here, b*wfl*x there, the human body doesn't age the way that it would have 10-15-20 years ago.... Everyone is different. I think as far as how old is too old, only you know yourself and what you think is appropriate for yourself. That goes for men and women alike. I know this is pretty "in general" as usual but maybe someone else can pick this one up and run with it....J
I say, aint no bumper sticker that is EVER gonna dull the beauty of a woman. A mercedes is a mercedes. You chicks go out and get your tats, buy your thongs, get your college education, be president, (hurry up) whatever the fuck you wanna do, no matter how old, big, small, you are or wether you are black, brown white or green. Thing of beauty is a thing of beauty!
Tattooed Belly Dancers...that's all I'm sayin'.
yeah, you knew the answer. Being a circus freak aint all that bad I guess... heh, ack!
See Al...problem solved...question answered....Get MORE TATTOOS!!! DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
