i have a $700-$800 half sleeve coming up in february with muriel.
$300 for my first tattoos.... $40 for the band (a friend's price for those)
next thing coming up will definitely be more expensive.. hopefully a Bob Tyrrell portrait if I save enough in the next several months and can get an appointment.
After that, the half sleeves and a pant leg... but that's dreamin'
An old fella told me on this forum once that you're not paying enough , EVER. Yeah great art can get pretty expensive , especially when it's applied with needles to skin. Of course a talented experienced artist works for a pretty high commission. But how much is your health worth? These men and women virtually take your life and your livlihood into their own educated hands each time that foot hits the switch and those needles enter your skin. I'm not saying anyone's bitching about how expensive some artists are. I dont' get that vibe at all. Just a gentle reminder I guess that even if you've spent 2,000.00 Dollars on an image that barely covers your bicep, that's still a helluva lot cheaper than you'd pay for the amounts and quantities of medicines it would take to keep you alive after letting an inexperienced , ill-equipped, wannabe artist, give you hepatitus or H.I.V.
I've met some really cool people with pretty damn decent work on them, barely alive cause they chose to take the "cheap" route with their tattoos. That neat tattoo is and always will be worth alot more than the wearer and in some cases even the tattooist like to remember.
I would recommend taking a hour drive to Philly and get a tattoo from Dave Fox, you will not be disappointed, he is a excellent artist. He works two days a week at Old City Tattoo. He has a shop in Norwood, PA. called Stuido One Tattoo.
