How much swelling is normal?

hey there, I just got my 5th tat 4 days ago. I had to go to a new artist and this was the first tat I have on my leg, midway between my ankle and knee. Anyway, this tat hurt like hell, I was near passing out and made the artist stop. Then looking at my tat, I saw that it wasn't even half way finished and looked terrible. So another artist in the shop took me to try to fix me up. He told me that the first artist went way too deep and that if I come back when healed he will finish fixing my tat. I am so sore, it is really painful to walk and yesterday I started swelling. first it was just my leg and I know that is normal for the area. But I wake up this morning and my leg is huge and ankle is gone and my toes are so swollen that they are swollen together. What I am asking I guess is, is this normal or should I worry? Also, how hard is it to cover up black ink, or what colors do it best, cause I am gonna have to do a lot of work to get this tat looking good.

Beckndevils...I cannot really comment on your tattoo unless you can e-mail me a pic...click on my name above for e-mail addy...Now look man...if one artist fucked you up that badly why on earth would you even consider letting someone else in the same shop work on you again?? Personally I would RUN not walk but RUN out of that shop ,get healed up and go to a COMPETENT tattoo artist to get fixed! Now if you send a pic, and you should, maybe, just maybe we can make some suggestions for you that may help. Hope ya understand that I am not tryin to be a smartass or insult you in any way ...I just hope I can help....TAz
