Is it legal? My mom and dad said that they would go with me to get it done but I'm not sure I can.
My sister got hers last year when she was 15 years old so I don't think it would be a problem.
Please answer me quickly, I'm getting it in a week!

14? Your making a big mistake. Wait. pretty much everyone who loves tattoos gets all the ones they got before they were 18-20 covered because they a) suck and b) grew out of them. No talented reputable tattoo artist will tattoo someone whos 14. You should spend the next 4 years researching tattoos and artists and get a good one.
I agree. I am 18 and i still am waiting till i am certain of what i want. My 13 year old sister is trying to talk my parents into getting one. I think it is one of the biggest mistakes, as you will not know what you want or any of that. Your views will change as you get older, and the ink will always be there.
Sure, just come into my shop. I'll need you and both of your parents to fill out paperwork, and they'll need their licenses for us to photocopy. I swear I won't turn them into the Department of Social Services or any Child Abuse agencies.
Forget about the fact that you just shouldn't! and forget the fact that your parents sure as Hell shouldn't be taking you! But last I remember its illegal to be tattooed in the state of NY under the age of 18. You need a valid ID to prove your age.
JOE
i could not (if i had a child of 14) in all good faith say i would allow them to get a tattoo. I would make them wait till they were 18 and then i would go with them to get the tat done. I waited till i was 44 and then i started getting my tattoos
heres a paragraph from an article that will be out at some point.
Physical and Emotional/Intellectual Maturity
We suggest a minimum age of 20 years old to get tattooed. In most of the U.S. the legal age to get a tattoo on your own is 18, but let's face it, most of us at that age, although granted certain legal rights, are still developing our personalities and changing our interests more rapidly than when we hit our early or mid twenties. This of course can lead to regrettable tattoo decisions even though the law says we can do it without penalty. In addition to this, many teenagers who are under 18 ask where they can get tattoos with their parents' consent, because in many states this is legal. However, with a few exceptions, most respectable professional tattoo artists are too busy to deal with the headaches of tattooing anyone underage, due to the fact of how rapidly teenagers are changing and how fickle they can be (and if you are a teenager reading this, those things are nothing to be ashamed or defensive about--they are normal and healthy parts of the aging and maturation process!). That said, if you look enough, you still may find someone talented willing to work on you, but odds say you will be getting the tattoo covered up anyway when you get older. We would suggest spending the time it takes until your 20th birthday or so learning about tattoos (as well as yourself), researching artists, and developing your ideas for a truly unique tattoo that is fantastic. If you are young and still want to get tattooed, just remember that your body parts should be finished growing, and that your ideas of what's cool will probably change over time. Know what permanent means.
Gabe great stuff there and full of wisdom. and even in our early 20s we are still growing and not settled but must more settled than at the age of 14 thats for damn sure.
WELL IN MY OPINION I GOT MY FIRST TATT WHEN I WAS 14 AND NOW IM 15 AND I DONT REGRET IT
AND WHAT ARE YOU GONNA GET
Thats because you're only 15, and you're still pretty much thinking like a 14 year old. Wait until you're 22 and then tell us that you're proud of your tattoo. I guarantee, your thought process will be alot different than what it is now, and I'm not trying to bash you in anyway. Most kids between the ages of 14-17 think roughly the same way, so it basically means you're normal.
I got my first tattoo when i was about 18 and now im 23 i want it covered up with something else..
Even though all i got is my name in chinese on my back, im seriously considering getting it covered with something else now.
Only got my second one done on saturday.
So i would defo recommend waiting until about 20 or so before getting a first tattoo done as my opinions have drastically changed over the few years....
I'd like to see the tattoo the 15 year old has (can you post it?) and know what the 14 year old wants.
haha, When I was 14, I would have gotten: the guy with the steel mask on the Quiet Riot album, the Twisted Sister "TS" logo, the Van Halen VH logo (good thing I didn't, since Dave got kicked out 2 years later), Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, all those bands that I liked back in '84
Look, like pretty much everyone else has said....WAIT!! I am 20 now and have wanted a tatoo for a long time now, but never got one. Even when I was 14 and wanted one, my parents said that I should wait, (like yours should be telling you). Believe me, if I would have gotten one at 14 it probably would have been covered up. I have grown and matured since then, like humans naturally do, and my thoughts and feelings are much different. Even though I want one now, I want to wait to be sure what I really want. I may even draw something original to get tattooed. I'm still not sure, so even if I wanted one soooo bad right now, it would turn out looking like crap, because my mind isn't set. All in all, I tell you to wait and not make a huge mistake, cause believe me, it will be.

Sorry guys about the multiple posts....computer problems. :D
What could you really want tattooed on you body when you are 14 years old...your locker combo? Wait till you are least 18. And for the 15 year old, you have had your tattoo for a year write back in 8 and let us know if you regret having the answers of your spelling bee tatooed on you!
GO 4 IT MATE I WAS 14 WHEN I GOT MY 1ST TATTOO IM NOW 17 AND HAV 3
Good advice if you plan on listening to someone named Cocksucker.
I am a 35 year old woman and I did not get my tattoo until I was 23 and here I am 12 years later and sorry I did it. You will change so much in the next year let alone in the next 4 years which, by the way is how old by law you need to be to get a tattoo. What's the rush? Slow down and take your time in deciding what type of tattoo and if you even will want one. I have a daughter and I have to say what the hell are your parents thinking?????
Come on you young punks, lets see these amazing tattoos you dont regret. Betcha they suck ass... Without doing a few years of research to find a decent artist your bound to get a shitty tattoo. But hey, maybe all us old farts are wrong. Lets see the tattoos before you open your traps up again.
Hey kid... I'm 40 and I still haven't got a tattoo because I can't decide what I want or where to put it. I'll tell you what I told my 16 year old daughter, who by the way also wanted a tattoo at 14...
"If I let you get a tattoo everytime you asked for one, there'd be a friggin' BARNEY on you butt, one of the Spice Girls on your arm and the misfits skull on your back" (that was this years request). Think about what you liked when you were 11 in terms of music, friends, movies, TV shows, etc. Now think about what you like at 14. At 14 you already know that Blues Clues just ain't funny. Now think about what you'll hate when your 16, then what you'll hate at 18, and what you'll hate at 20. Chances are it just might be that tattoo that you got when you were 14.
Wait till your old enough to know what you want, I suggest prior to 40, my waiting this long is not normal. But then again I'm chicken.
WWHHOOAAAA!!!! Dude your how old? i don't no what you want done but 'slow down!!!!' i'm 24 years old i've got 4 tattoo's. i had my first at 22 and i regrette at least 1 of them! i wanted one at the age of about ten! and i've had soo many "cool ideas/designs" that if i had them all i'd be a walking abomination!!!! If you feel like you want to rebel (good on you!) may i suggest a piercing? and wait until your fully grown and believe in something enuff to want it on your skin for the rest of your life! A Tattoo is something to be proud of, not something you want to cover up or feel embarressed about! Dude, think about it! Danny (ENGLAND)
There are a few things you should consider before getting this tattoo. The first thing is your body is still growing and you my get something that you may thing is really big and a few years from now its going to look really small. Second, I think a tattoo is something you shouldn't rush into getting it will be with you forever. Unless you are willing to pay to have it removed.
I have a couple tattoos I didn't get my first one until I was 24 that was six years ago. And I wanted one for as long as I could remember. I have a 13 year old son and he says he wants a tattoo but I told him he has to wait until he's at least 18. I think a child's views will change and what you think is cute you may not find so appealing when you are older. Just think about it. Wait awhile if you really want one no matter how long you wait you'll still get one.
Okay, whoa... 14? Now that has got to be illegal. I was 19 before I got my first tattoo. I drew and redrew it until I knew that it was what I wanted. I now have 10 tattoos, and getting more, but I make sure that I know what I want and I make sure that the design means something to me. At the age of 14, you can't decide which pair of socks to wear to school, let alone get a tattoo that can't come off.
Think about it, grow up, then think some more. And for the 15 year old and the 17 year old that can't spell... learn to spell first, then lecture on tattoos.
Yeh.. 14 is tooo young hun...
your going to grow, and the tatty is going to look like shit in a couple years...
Plus.. maybe youll regret it?
Kristina-Apprentice
Listen to me kid please..... I am still young too. Everyone here has had their points. Your tattoo will look like shit by the time you are 20, if you're lucky. You're about to grow alot over the next few years (mentally and physically) and you will look dumb with whatever you pick out. When your 20 you'll still be a damn kid (like me). Please humor us as to what you want on you for the rest of your life and what your brother has.
When I was 14 I loved rebelling as well. Just stick with old fashion Marilyn Manson t-shirts and piercings and non-lifelong commitments.
what she wants to know is if its legal so that depends on where she 's going to have it done at. in some place is is not legal even with a parent but some allow it with a parent with an ID. that is in if there are laws at all. So my advice, look into the law where you plan to get it. And dont think just becasue the state does or does not have a law that is it becasue even cities can have their own regualtions in some places.
hell yea get the tattoo ans your parents are awesomeness for letting you get it me i have to wait until im 18 your parents rock get it done ans be happy that you have such cool parents
Well, heres the real test. Who will you listen to, other kids or the massive amount of adults who have already made the stupid mistake you are about to. We're not stuffy parents who are "uncool", we are the "cool" tattooed adults stupid. If you listen to these kids you deserve what you get. I still say these punks should post their tattoos so you can see what your in for or they should shut their traps. They may talk big but chances are they dont have shit to back it up(or, er, they have shitty tattoos). Bottom line, any tattoo artist that will tattoo you at 14 is going to give you a crappy tattoo.
Oh, and kid, if you still live with your parents you probably arnt old enough to tattoo your body forever. It sounds like you have sane parents, they should make you wait. And you should spend the next few years learning about tattoos and artists and what designs mean. That way you will be unique when you turn 18 and get your tattoo, you will get a good one!
Im In western australia and im 17. my boyfriend is paying for some of a tatoo for me. I want one of my horse, a lot of people say, but what happens when he dies... well hes still with me.. My horse is my life and i havt not been as close with any of my other horses..
im still waitng for the 'right' photo of him tho, i know what i want, im getting some of his neck and his head but i still dont have a photo of that correct pose so wont get it done untill i do.. and as for tatoo atrists were im getting mine done has just been awarded one of the best places in australia :D i have been in ther and chatted to them a few times to.. i need to get my mum to sign a form for me to get it done.
i wanted a tattoo at 14 as well but i would of got something stupid, im glad i didnt get one then, my brother got one when he was 17, the initials of one of our great friends who committed suicide.. and hes just got another one, a armband, and hes 21.
i think you should wait a few years untill you get one.. sure keep a scrapbook and draw down all your ideas, i can almost bet you, in a month or two you will look back at your first ones and laugh at them.
i think everyone on here who has said wait is right. and everyone who has said go for it should step back and take a look, have a little bit of a think.!! come one im 17 and i have more scence than some of you.
Dude... please wait. I got most of my tattoos when I was 15-18. I have one almost complete sleeve and it was SO cool and I swear to you that I KNEW I WOULD ALWAYS LIKE it. I'm not 15 now or 17 or 19.... I'm young man. I'm only 22 and I wish I never got ANY of the tattoos I got. And I got them from my uncle, a tattoo artist that used to work at Gemini tattoo. He is good. It's not the artwork... and I know it sucks to wait... but I'm not hear to talk to you like a figure of authority or even to look down at you. You're 14, and these people here should NOT talk down to you because you're acting like a normal 14 year old by wanting a tattoo. But please wait... I promise you will regret it. Ask anyone who has picked a tattoo at 14 and is now older than me. I GUARANTEE they all say the same thing.
We arnt looking down on kids wanting tattoos. We are telling them the same thing you are, they will regret tattoos they got that young. We definitely dont like other kids telling kids its ok to make mistakes. Especially if those kids wont show us their amazing tattoos. Many of us made mistakes out of our first tattoos, often gotten underage. We dont want other kids to make the same mistake.
im 15 i got a tat it doesnt even hurt at all! so its not bad at all !!
Then show us your tattoo dumbass!
Lets see your tattoo... kids, dont post that you got tattoos underage on this thread unless you point us to a photo of the tattoo.
Kid, as if everyone hasn't already answered this, the answer is, be cool and wait. I waited 20 years, as I mentioned on another thread, to find the right design. I know that 's kind of rediculous too, I mean it shouldn't take that long to decide but my god, I changed my mind so many times it's unbelievable. First if was a white buffalo. But I'm not native american, so, good thing I grew out of that. Next it was a yin-yang, which I swear to god was the most original thing I'd EVER heard of! Eastern religeon! No one was ever going to do that! Then I got this great idea to have "EVIL" tattooed in Kanji on my arm, which was also super original. I mean hell, I was really cool. Dig this... I was the only one who could read it!
Look, point is, you'll grow into yourself, and your skin, and your confidence at some point. When you don't need a tattoo or anything else to be cool, and you are happy with who you are, that's when it's best to get one. That could be at 23, or 40, but it sure as hell won't be at 14. Don't be the next idiot to give the world the wrong impression about the "inked" brotherhood by having some dumb-assed statement like "GANGSTA" tattooed on your back.
As they say, an old bull and a young bull are standing on a hill, and the young bull says " hey man, let's run down there and bag us a cow!". The old bull says "Naw, you idiot, let's WALK down there, and bag em all.
Cactus...I LIKE YOU!!!!....TAz
Right back at ya.
Oh so you are THAT al!!! I am familiar withyour work...your firm is very impressive as is you very stark but totally classy website!..TAz
Ah cool! So you know I speak the truth then! As a graphic designer for a living, I can say that sometimes it's impossible to come up with a design for yourself. You get way too close to it even as an artist. And man, this is what I do for a living! As a 14 year old kid, I have no idea how this guy could come up with ANYTHING that would be valid even in a year. In fact, I'm gonna go start a new thread about this....
i don't think at 14 you have any idea of you're doing.
i have tattooed 14 yr olds before BUT there was situations.
1) if parents bring kids in that scratchers screw up real bad,
i reccomend laser removal.
but it's kinda out of some parents budget.
so i've covered some of that scratcher crap up, on 14 yr olds.
2) on two occasions i've done in memory pieces on 14yr olds but it has to be a brother / sister or parent.
other than that, no eceptions.
in missouri we can tattoo minors with parent consent, with ID but i draw the line alot, i won't tattoo a pot leaf on a 20 yr old if i think the'll regret it in a few months.
I had a lady I do alot of work on ask me a few months ago if I would be willing to tattoo her daughter. When I said no she got all pissy with me and said she that if she could sign for a piercing why not a tattoo. I told her she could sign all she wanted, but as far as I was concerned no ink from my hand would ever enter a kiddo unless someone died they were really close to or when hell froze solid.
Don't think I'm saying your not mature or too stupid to know what you want noone knows that but you. On the other hand take it from a person who got tattooed way too young your body is not shaped the way it will be in ten years, your attitude and experience is going to change alot and the things that matter enough to you to get tattooed permanently into your flesh are definately not going to be the same.
In response to ink junkie....In Missouri the law about tattooing is a county by county thing ...of all the countys in mo there are only 7 which allow underage tattooing and we are working as we speak to get those countys on line with the rest,,,,and just so ya know ''local" laws and ordinances supercede state and federal law unless there is a direct conflict with state or federal law....TAz
I'am 18 and i got a lot of tattoos; i dont a gree with what some of these people are saying because i believe that if you want to get a tattoo you shoult be able to get it. it's you body and you should be able to make your own decisions about what you want. but let me give you some advise make the right choice get something you really want and you know you wont regret.
la traviesa
To La Traviesa...So then you should be able to drink alcohol at whatever age too? Or drive a car at twelve?... I got it!...Lets just do away with ALL laws and everybody could just do any ol thing they want to!........You are a prime example of someone who is far too imature to make logical and possibly life changing decisions....there are GOOD reasons we have laws....some of them protect people like you from making disastrous decisions.....TAz
See, thats what a lot of us are trying to say: What you want at 14 or 15 or whatever may seem like something that you really love and "will be happy with forever" but how the hell would you know if thats as old as you are?? People who have been there are obviously trying to give the younger ones a heads up because they've been through it and are trying to stop others from making the same mistakes.
Its just a matter of heeding the advice given and being patient. All of us have a few regrets and if you dont, more power to ya. But not everyone is so lucky and there are more than enough horror stories from those who didnt want to wait it out.
I am currently turning 16 and am deciding on a tattoo, I dont plan on getting it until I, 1. Finish growing first, and 2. Know I'm CERTAIN of what I want. I have friends that got a few tattoos, one of them got a celtic knot on his leg that his sister has on her neck. Reason for getting it on the leg? Well because the artist refused to do anything on his arms because he still has a little growing left to do. I also have a friend who got on on his wrist, bottom line...it looks like crap.
Dont get a tattoo under 18 period. You still have TONS of growing left to do and if you get one on an arm or something you are gonna get more muscle and grow and its gonna stretch and look like shit either way. Also, the younger you are the more you will tend to rush into things. Finally, who ever says its doesn't hurt one bit is probably lying, pretending to have one, or was really drunk and/or high. Think of it this way, you have multiple little needles constantly sticking in to your skin some thousand times. Then you get more needles running over the already open wounds.
Basically, if you get a tattoo at 14 years old, you are fucking retarted.

Don't you realize that your immature and egregious comments only damaged your posted opinions? And where is the pic of your wonderfully professional dermagraphic presentation?I'm sure all of us "fags" would get a chuckle or two from gazing upon your superciliary pigmental implantation.
YOU are a MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TAz
I hope to God your tattoo doesn't have any words in it because you can't spell to save your life, but that's ok, here's one that you don't need an English degree in: HEP C
Sometimes I wonder why we even bother....morons like that never listen ...I don't think they posess the capacity to listen but anyway..
10 points for Krystof on the hep c comment!!...TAz
The 14yr old thread has already been done...this is it.
Can't bother to scroll down a bit before asking a question?
How much thought will go into the actual tattoo?
Thanks BOU!!!!!
Ok here is my 2 cents.....let me tell you my story!
When I was 14, my buddy and I (14 also) were downtown Toronto. We went into this tattoo shop and decide that we wanted to get tatt'ed up!
We asked the artist and he said no, we said our parents were cool with it. We called my buddys sister (she was 16 at the time) and she told him that she was our mother and she was cool with it!
So this artist said ok. At the time I thaught he was the coolest for agreeing to do it! Now lookin back... that was dumb on our part and the STUPIDEST thing that artist could have done!
so I got the road runner tatted on my upper arm. The coolest thing ever!!!!
I am now 29 with a stupid road runner on my arm! (which may I say where it is on my arm, would have been a PRIME peice of real estate to get a nice shoulder peice done.. which I cant because of a stupid road runner!
Don't get me wrong... the tattoo turned out good,
but I wish
A) I didn't get a road runner,
B) I didn't waste such a good spot!
Just think about it ALOT before you do something stupid!!!
Baker sendz.........
wat da fuck was nickpace saying? Was that a different language or am I retarded? I couldn't understand what the hell she was trying to say! I also would love to see their work!
I think that was"THUGGESE"
What a fuggin mo mo!!
Ever notice that when those who lack knowledge disagree with our opinions that we are automatically "FAGS"?
I am startin to think thats a term of respect!
DAMMITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!
TAz
Given the amount of abuse that segment of the population endures for simply how they were made, could be an aknowlegement of respect...somehow I doubt it though...probly just another case of ignorant hating and fear of latent homosexuality.
Im sixteen and just got a tattoo if you think your ready then go ahead its your body and your descision...just remeber to get someone whos knows what there doing before you get your tat.

I got my first and second tattoos when I was 13 back in 1962. They were home made with a sewing needle and Indian ink. It was a lousy job and I had to live with it until I was old enough and in the service to get a cover up. I have sense had one of the cover ups redone and I’m working on my own art work for another forearm piece.
I’ll be fifty seven this year and I have to agree with waiting to have something done.
But if you absolutely can’t resist the urge I would suggest not getting a name unless it’s your mother or father and stay away from fad or icon tattoos the go out of date quickly.

Scott if somebody knows what they are doing they won't tattoo a minor...TAz
yeah I dont know what i was thinkin I would need a pretty damn good reason to get a tat at 14
oh how they grow so fast!........moms it is very important to breastfeed your child, that way when they are 14 they will not think of tattoos but instead nonstop flowing boobies till they are 18, then they can get one.
waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
I am almost 50 and I STILL think of non stop flowing boobies...is that wrong?
No TAz i belive thats perfectly normal HAHAHA
Who the fuck you callin NORMAL????
You know what i ment haha
Just joshin ya Scott!!!!...Its OK really it is...LMAO!!!...TAz
Dude, i wanted a tattoo when i was about your age. Of course i wanted the GnR logo, slash's name (if u know who he is that is) and my boyfriends name!!!! If i had, had my way i would have regretted it now. People change and at that age you change your opinion on things almost instantly. I got my first tat a couple of months ago when i turned 19. I researched for 2-3 years to find the right design for me and the right artist. I had my piercings done by the same guy who did my tat and he WILL NOT pierce or tattoo anyone under the legal age with or without parental consent. And to be fair any self respecting artist wouldn't. Come on if they can't even stick to a legal age what other corners are they willing to cut?? You've got to live with this decision for the rest of your life!! Wait it'll be much better once your older
Just keep saying it over and over Taz... "WE DO COVER UPS!" "WE DO COVER UPS!" "WE DO COVER UPS!" "WE DO COVER UPS!"...

I'm turning 17 and have started looking at tattoos for when I turn 18... My best friend has drawn me a custom design of a fairy sitting on a flower. It's very pretty and unusual -- I'll post a picture later. Do you think ti would be trashy to get it on my lower back...? I just wanted to hear some opinions from people who sound like they know what they're talking about. :)
im a fifteen year old thinking about getting a tattoo, and even though i dont completely agree with some of the statements being made, i do think waiting is a good idea. Maybe, in a few years you will want something different. im not saying don't get it, but consider it it a little more. Times change. Personally i want sleepy Smurf from the smurfs, but maybe in a few years ill want a ....reindeer or something; however, like many people pointed if u are really sure about it, get it, and do it with no regrets. Choose a great artist and a hygenic tattoo parlour, because if u've made up your mind no one here can really dissuade you.
I was just a couple days short of my 18th birthday before i got my 1st tattoo, my sister bought it as a birthday present for me, i have another one i got this year, a couple of months ago infact, i have just booked myself in for my 3rd one next week...i dont regret my 1st one after 7 years (i am now 25), both my tattoos are meaning something dear to myself as is the new one i will be getting, i would wait & think about the exact one you want before you jump in and get it done, mine are personal to me...why not think about something along those lines...i know there are lots of ppl out there who get them just for the sake of getting one or to be "cool"...just think about when you are 20...30..40..will it still be cool then?? Will you still ike it & not be thinking why did i get this..its permanat...why not get a piercing as suggested in earlier posts, i have quite a few of them & at least they are removable if you no longer want them!!
do it/dont do it
im gonna be 17 in a week and got mine like 2 weeks before my 15th birthday...now me i still like mine but mine means alot to me its something my dad said to me all the time when i was around 6-7 years old...but i know 2 of my friends that got theres a couple years back and wished they hadnt got it....i say think about it long and hard..look into the future and i know u say you love this and will always but shit changes...my one friend got his g/f's name across his back and she cheated on him 2 weeks later...haha.but yea i say give it more time and really think about it
im 16 and am thinking of getting a tattoo to cover up a shit job i did myself on my wrist i heard that doing tattoos on minors with a parents note is legal in the state of massachusets i dont give a rats ass if my bodies still growing i have 2 uncles in new hampshire who will do them for free when im old enough to get them done in new hampshire but for now i just want one to cover up my wrist and if it turns out good ill keep it if not well i bet it looks better then the one i have now
devin
thanks for the pointlesness of that
Infact, I am so emotionally moved by the magnitude of intelligence and acute sense of conscience of his decision I am going to get a "Bunny-o-Gram!"....
Almost as good as leaving a chicken to rot in the shop so it smells like ASS in here!.....can you say CLIPCHORD????
i think it depends from person to person. im 16 in 2 months n have 3 tattoos, they all mean something,n i consider myself to be a little more matured than most teenagers and have expereinced alot more thing then most teens. everyone thinks differently, older people have to realise younger generations think alot differently, n younger ppl have to take adivce from their elders, i guess if you think ur ready for a tattoo then get one, its no 1 elses fault but urs if u hate it.
i love allmy tatts at the moment, but i dont believe ill ever lok bak n regret them. a tattoo can show a period of your life and lifestyle when u were however old. every tattoo has a story.
just becuase someone is more mature than other people their age does NOT mean that they are ready or should be able to do the things people older than them can do. I'm only 19, and i act more mature than almost every other 19 year old i've met, i've been told i act very mature for my age, and i see myself acting more mature that people 2, 3, 5, 10 years older than me...but i still can't drink, i still can't go into comedy clubs, i still can't do things that 19 year olds are not allowed to do. If i go up to a bouncer at a club or a bar tender and say "i'm only 19 but kids think different these days and i've been through a lot already so i think i'm mature enough to go in this 21 and over club and drink" i'd get laughed at and kicked out.
plus, if you are mature, you should understand that you need to be patient. Kids do think differently these days...they think "shut up and give me what i want when i want it how i want it"
so if you're looking into getting a tattoo, at 14 .... i doubt youre really serious. Remember it will NEVER come off. Unless it's a tattoo youve thoroughly thought about getting and are sure its something you want. (but i doubt you started considering this tattoo at age 12 and are committed to it) Also, be sure of the design and place you want to get it. If its your first, you should think about getting it in a place not so visible such as an ankle or something easily covered up. There fore if you decide "man, this sucks!", you can atleast cover it up easily. But if it is something you are sure of and have been seriously wanting to do and are sure of the design AND place to get it. Go for it. No matter what your age.
now before you take the advice of the post above this, take a look at the name....i wouldn't trust anything that someone says if they have a gutter for a mouth
Ducky dear...what has happened to you?...In the past week or so your whole attitude has to to a very judgemental frame of mind....And previously you were always so laid back...What is up with you....?
Hey im 14 and i already have a full back tattoo and one on my left upper arm. So just because your 14 doesnt mean you shouldnt get one..... So dont listen to all these people trying to tell you that you are making a mistake.....It's your body so do whatever you want with it.
Well lets see a pic of that wonderful illegal tattoo!
get a tattoo on your penis that would be well cool hint the sarcasm
Lol, i think it's because i have been up 4am-10/11pm or later xD

Hey. I spent alot of time looking for a board that had the same veiws as me and this is definitley it! I'm 14 and NO I'm not planning on getting a tattoo, however... my friend is. He said to me today "help me find a kool pic of a phoenix" so I got one and I asked what he wanted it for and he said for a tattoo, I spent about 15 minutes bugging him not to do it (but he wont be getting it until he's 15). I know it's his choice but I'm really scared that he'll get hep C and I'm not much of an expert on this but I told him like it will sag with your skin when your older and since he's only 14 he's still growing so won't it like.. stretch?
I don't agree with all the people who are saying They know what they want. My mom thinks tattoos are cool too but she would never let me do something so foolish until I was of age and knew what I wanted.

go to Erie PA they tat anyone over 14 with parents consent
ok, saw this post and had to throw in my two cents worth. I am 17 and just got my first tattoo last year. I love it and i know that it was only a year ago and i have plenty of time to wait and see if i hate it later on. I got my tattoo of the Japanese symbol for music, as music is a huge part of my life. I, however, thought about this for 6 years before getting it done and made sure that this is what i wanted, and i'm thankful for that too, as if i would have gotten what i wanted then, i'd have a butterfly tattooed on my ankle, and now i dislike butterflies alot. I also made sure that i was done growing before i got it, by going to the doctor and having my growth plates checked. I also talked with my tattoo artist about it and he liked it, it was simple and something that he knows i loved. So for a fourteen year old getting a tattoo, i think you need to think about this for a long time and make sure it is something that has a real meaning to it. Not just something you like now, it should be something that will always be important to you. Also, wouldn't you regret getting a tattoo now and then in another 5 years you've grown and it's all stretched out and gross? Make sure you get what you want and make sure it's something that will always be very important to you!!!
You are japanese then?
I am 18 i have one tattoo of my celtic family crest and my next one is being done in 2 weeks in memory of a friend that died he designed a pattern for me so i think dont do it to be cool tattoos are personel so if your gonna get it done its your choice just think hard about what you get done.
ill be 17 next wednesday..and i asked my mom if i could get a tattoo like 2 weeks ago and now i dont kno if i want one now..
Al Man.......................I'm not Japanese, so I guess you're saying that I shouldn't have been wearing Japanese style dragons for the last 20 years.?...? Shame on me.......
I'm not saying that I disagree with you, I just want to understand where you're coming from on this. Not much of what Americans put on their bodies is truly of American origin. Some of it IS really trendy though, and it's sometimes difficult to know what is going to end up dated, not the coolest, and GAY!
TCE
Not being a Smart Ass TCE, that was just a question. Just wondering if He was Japanese. Nothing more. Sorry to confuse. I actually have some Chinese on me, and I'm lilly white. Sorry for the confusion.
... and actually, due to the history, I'm always interested in hearing what asian folks get these days... The other day I met a tibetan guy who had a dragon all the way up his arm. Looked great. He was some kind of Asian gangster or something. Not that I repsect that, but he definitely looked the part. Looked pretty cool. Not the ganster part. The dragon...
dude forget about it till ur older like others have said you are making a big mistake
Hey Al,
Now that you mention it, what would be funnier than a Japanese-American or Chinese-American getting something tattooed on them in their respective native cultural script, only to find out later that it doesn't mean what they thought!?!? It happens to whitey all the time...........well, enough of the time.
TCE
Yeah, that's what I was thinkin...see what I mean??
I am 19 and got my first tattoo in january. I will agree that you should wair a couple years until you got your tattoo. You will change over time and that may effect the way you feel about your tattoo. When i was your age i was never into tattoo's but now i enjoy them very much. See the change i am talking about. Also research what you want to get, what it means, where to get it. Although i did not take years and years to choose what i wanted i still went through the process of gettin my ideas together, and finding people to draw different variations. In the end i ended up with a chinese style tiger with the chinese figures for strength. I do not think i will ever regret my choice because it will remind me of the time of my life, trust me when you get into college and are broke from all the books and other materials and have so much work to do strength is on of the things you need the most. I also had the knowledge to check out the place before i got my tattoo done. Make sure you see any prior work they have done you should see something that really says wow i want them to do my tattoo. For me it was the before and after shot of a tattoo he re did for someone (possibly someone who rushed at a young age and got). After seeing how he could work that awful broken heart tattoo into such a wonderful fish tattoo with such detail on even the scales i knew this was my man. So if you feel you have been through enough to get it, by all means go ahead but i just have a feeling that you havent yet... But thats just my opinion.

I think it is cool that your parents are that open to let you get a tattoo at 14!! I would just make sure that you know what your getting into and be ready for the aftercare of one. It's not like a bump or a scratch. It's your and your parents choice. Make sure that the artist you choose is good at his work and you like what you see. And look at it this way when you get older and you don't like it anymore(if you don't like it anymore) you can allways come to Ohio to me and my cousins shop and get it covered up>.> He Does a great job on cover ups. I know he did one of mine and is going to start on my back cover up shortly. Just go with your gut. If it was me and my kids asked for one at your age I would have them make sure that is what they want and then I would approve too. I already let them dye their hair all diff... colors it's theirs not mine. I think all kids need to express them selves.
GO FOR IT!!!!
Yeah let them express themselves with a PERMANENT tattoo that no one BUT a hack artist will do underage...expose them to the world of bad tattoos and hepatitus!....But remember folks....
WE DO COVERUPS!!!!
Sadly though we can't cover up Hep or aids, But have fun..
And here is Cactus Al to tell you about some real estate!!
Remember Taz,
It is not illegal and any tatto shop will do it with your parents id's so stop saying that they have to go to hackers because they are under age cuz that is not true it is perfectly legal for them with proof of concen. I do all the papper work for my cousins shop here in Ohio and we have forms just for minors. So, I am not sure you are right about that unless it is illegal were you live.
Jennifer
Oh yeah and by the way he is a legal tattoo artist. and it is a leget shop. Not all minor tatters are hackers and underground artist. You are gonna have this kid scared out of their mind of HIV, AIDS, and HIP B. Sweety don't listen to Taz in any pro shop you will be able to tell if they are clean or not and all of their needles should be in it's own sterlized bags allong withthe tubes.
Jennifer
Jennifer you are so full of it....there are only 5 states that still allow minors to be tattooed....you can act like I don't know what I'm talking about but I'm one of the artists that day in day out cover up the mistakes made by these too young kids...sure there are artists who will tattoo anyone as long as the money is there, but if they are any good at all they are too busy tattooing adults to tattoo children....go back up this posts and count just how many PROFESSIONAL artists there are JUST ON THIS FORUM who will not tattoo minors...do ya think we just all got together and decided to stop tattooing them?...NO! there are valid reasons and they are all listed above just read them.WE could all make an assload more money if we turned our backs on ethics and started tattooing children but it ain't gonna happen.
If a tattoo artist will tattoo a 14 year old...ya gotta wonder why...T
Dear Jennifer, I have only one thing to say...
You heard Jennifer Kids! GO FOR IT! But just remember these few simple things:
1. Don't worry about those dumb ol' fucks, cause like they don't know nuthing anywayze, and like I'm SO SURE anyway... Like it's like any of their BEESWAX. Like I'm sure the're all like old and smelly, and like probabably don't even have a "Von Dutch" T-shirt at all, like in ANY color, and besides, they probably don't even like know who Eva Longoria even is at all... I'm SO SURE....
2. Don't forget to do the face, only a real pussy would forget to do the face, cause that there is some PRIME REAL ESTATE...
3. And finally, even though Ben Franklin rolls over in his grave somewhere when he hears me say it, and Sir J-Werk runs screaming for his search engine for comfort, DON"T FORGET!!!! TAZ AN ALL THOSE DUMB OL MOTHERFUCKERS THAT DON'T KNOW NUTHIN ABOUT NUTHIN DO COVERUPS!!!!
THANKS SO MUCH! I'M HERE ALL WEEK TILL THURSDAY! THANKS!
SORRY I WAS LATE CATCHING THIS ONE GUYS.
Hey Al...how is Audrey doin?...Beep me!
don't worry about it you guys, once that final growth spurt hits and they have a tattoo that's 3 inches longer than it used to be, they'll think back to this.
Well i got mine when i was 14 years old andf i don't regret it because my father picked mines out. and my sister aswell got one one when she was 15 and she does not regret her either. but remember i gotmine because it always remind me of my father so make sure you get something you will treasure. right now in this moment i have 3 tatoos and im only 17 and trust me you won't look trashy unless you make yourself seem that way the only reason i am writing this to you is b/c i was in your same situation.
Thank You All for those comments. Some people just think that it is all about them and It Is Legal In OHIO for a minor to get a tattoo with their parents with them. All they need is their birth certificates, thier parents present, and their parents need their IDS that's it. And all pro's in OHIO do this not just you reagular run of the mill hacker that does the shit illegally. Which is without forums and proper hygen and certifications. So just be careful who you go to and like Brenda said Make sure you want to were your design for the rest of your life. And I say this to you because I got my first tatto when I was 19 and it was done by my best friend and he fucked it up badly it looked like shit. so now I am working on getting two shitty tattoos covered because I was stupid. and By the way for some reason my cover up hurt worse then the one they fucked up.
It's your Body No One elses.
Jennifer
Again, I say, go ahead Kids! You heard her! It's your body and nobody else's! So go get a tat today! Just make sure you want to wear it for the rest of your life!... however the fuck you are going to know that at 14 I have no idea, but hell, that's beside the point, so let the playboy bunnies, and "Thug-4-life"s roll! Grab your 25 bucks and your great idea, and get the fuck down to your local "I'll tat any 14 year old as long as they have legal paperwork" artist and join the club!!!
But remember, send us your pics. We can't wait to see your well conceived designs, and remember, Taz does coverups! Not that you'll need it, with such a great idea, but just in case.

Hey all you tattoo shops there in Ontario...got a girl here who is gonna have someone sign for her without her parents consent...be on the lookout!! I have the address and if ya e-mail me I will give it to ya so BE CAREFUL!!
How is it up there in Ontario this time of year sexxie chik?
God you make this so easy!!!
ok, im sure the girl who initially posted this hasnt looked at it in a while, but for anyone else whos under 18 and is thinking about getting a tattoo, even something you once thought was very meaningful, think about this.....
i drew a tattoo when i was about 12. i showed it to my mom, and asked if she would get it with me, a mother-daughter bonding, iff you will. it was a gemini roman numeral two, with mother and daughter written vertically in the columns. we're both geminis, and im her first child, so it was very personal. she said, maybe when you get older. so i held on to the design, improving it over the years until i had the perfect design. for my 17th birthday, she and went out and got them. by the time i was 18, tho, she had kicked me out of "her" house, which she had herself just been evicted from, stolen the money i gave her to pay for my car insurance (meaning i didnt have car insurance.... against the law in illinois, where i lived), and had nearly killed my dad and stepmom, with the intention of killing my two half-brothers, who were 1 and 3 at the time. thiss all happened in less than 12 months. think i still wanted the tattoo then??
the point is, tattoos are for life. coverups can help, but even then, people coverup coverups. regardless of what anyone else thinks, myself included, i would say to do what you want. you can get a tattoo now, and possibly regret it in 2 or 3 years. or you could get a tattoo that you will love for life. who knows. no one can predict the future.... if they could, i would have never gotten that tattoo with my mom......and yeah, probably would have filled in the police as well.
VWCAB....Wow! I'm sorry to hear you went through that horrible experience!....Just remember that it can only make you stronger!
My thoughts are with you and if you are ever in my area look me up and I will do a cover for ya at no charge!...TAz, Painted Angel Studios
Sexxie Chic. Wow. You are so Sexxie. I mean, with an attitude like that, I just can't wait to get wit u. Wow. Pretty Sexxie. I can just see that cross now. That's really original. Like, I'm just picturing it. It's so Sexxie. I was thinking maybe (oh, no, I'm just dreaming I guess... she would never.... she's too sexxie....Oh hell, I just have to ask... please god, let her say yes.....) like, I was wondering if you would come with me to one of those street racer car shows this weekend down over at the strip mall? We could take my yellow Mitsu Lancer, like it has a really big fin on the back... and Like some of my Boyz are gonna be there, and I'd be really happy if I could show up with a Sexxie girl with a cross on her wrist, cause they would all think I was a playa..... or maybe you could get a playboy bunny too...
Oh, nevermind. You'll never say yes.... but if you did, like I'd pay for your bacon cheeseburger at Sonic after....
And I'd like buy you a coke too even....
Cactus, are you trying to live the high school dream again?... Hey brother, if ya need anything, vent, life got ya down, shoot the shit, e-mail me bro. I may not have the answers but I've been there and done that. You know what I mean....J
Cactus Al, I just wanted to applaud you on the new flyer you made for taz.....hot shit brother....
WE LOVE IT.....Thanks again AL!
Coming from Legacy, whom I've been known to throw down with a bit in the past, I'll take that as the highest form of compliment. I really appreciate that L..... Thanks for the props. Coming from you, that means a lot. Yeah, Werk, I will email you soon as well....
I hope you dont mind Taz..I've been snooping around on your myspace.....
And Brutha Taz.... DONT EVEN thank me. No thanks EVER necessary.
c'mon Al you guys are like family...I've always said that family isnt always supposed to agree on everything!!! Thats the beauty of it all....no matter how much we get into it...I still consider you guys FAMILY....Whether it shows or not I have learned a lot just by READING Taz, yours, Gabes and a bunch of others posts...but mainly you three....oh and definately Keepinitreal...All because we share that one thing in common, no matter how miniscule it may seem to a lot of people ,it's important to us....THE LOVE OF OUR CULTURE....Trust me I've read back plenty of times to the shit i posted and was like.... DOH!!!!
But again I havent been at this as long as you guys and I want all of you to know I respect each one of you fuckers...Thanks for teachin this little guy some fuckin respect!!!!
Legacy, one of the most beautiful things about you is that you DON'T agree with everything we say, and you DON'T back down from an arguement or discussion. DON'T EVER CHANGE. Your definition of Family is JUST RIGHT.
Good to hear from ya bro! Been a while!
Thanks man
Legacy...You just snoop all ya want ...thats what its there for!...will be some new tattoos on there next week...I know...I'm slow...just been slammed with custom artwork but I am damn near cught up (yeah RIGHT!!!) ok well I'm TRYIN to get caught up...Hey...how bout seein some of YOUR stuff Legacy?....Email it or put it on your myspace!!...oh and Cactus Al has a myspace now so yall can be friends!...he is...www.myspace.com/fatherofroses...
So there ya go...and in this day of disrespect its nice to see someone who isn't afraid to show some...that means a LOT to me....I seem to get attacked on here more than most ...I think maybe cause I'm the biggest target so its a good feeling for someone to actually appreciate my humble efforts..
So ...Thanks!...see ya in the funny papers...TAz
Sorry Al...I didn't even think before I threw yer myspace addy out there>>>>I apologize!!
Don't use any of that Kung Fooey Chop Suey stuff on me OK???
Totally okay Taz man. That's what it's there for!
Not to go against all the regrets and stuff, but If its somewhere apropriate and its not a big and bulky go ahead and get it. Oh and for everyone whos been replying you know you should ask if she got it or not cause like 4 months ago she said she was getting it in a WEEK! HELLOO???
im 14 and i also want to get a tattoo. i will be getting my own name on my arm in big script. i don't think i'll regret it at all. after all it is my name....
I'm 19 years old and I recently got my first tattoo, it was in memory of my best friend that died when I was 16. It took me three years to decide on the design and location of my tat. Of course people will always make their own decisions, but I would seriously recommend waiting! I'm going to school to be a high school teacher, a profession that I only recently decided on. It's unfortunate but tattoos and piercings (for the most part, I'm sure there's exceptions) are not allowed if you're going into education. If I would have gotten roses up and down my arms when I was 14, like I wanted to do I would be shit out of luck. It's just a thought. And beyond all that, Females bodies especially change sooooo much between the ages of 14 and 18. I'm surprised anyone will even tattoo someone so young! When I was getting my tattoo done I overheard a piercer turn down a 14 year old for a belly button piercing! There's my two cents.
Afraid you'll forget?
RIGHT ON Adsf. Well I understand completly I mean I'm only 13 and I'm getting a tattoo with a couple letters. Don't do someone elses name though because you'll end up regreting that. But as far as the risks and stuff if your sure you wanna do it and its in an apropriate place (like I said) FINE! Like its funny because my friend got a tattoo when she was 12 and it was on her chest. Well it was a picture of a pony, and now shes 18 and she hates it, I mean it looks like crap too. So don't put it on a place were you'll still be growing. Oh and if its your body do whatever.
if it's their body? i certainly hope it's their body! and, your ENTIRE BODY grows hun, unless it's on your eyeballs, which is (i think) the only part on your that is always the same
I guess your right, I'm just still struggling to get one with my mom or not this week, I want to but I don't know where. The only real places are the back of my shoulder and my lip but I don't want my lip tattooed.lol And I had a typo on my last reply sorry.
To tattoo a 13 year old should be ( and IS is some states) treated as felony child abuse...that is exactly what it is
what about kids with, lets say, embarrassing birth marks and such, anything would be better than that.
what about kids with, lets say, embarrassing birth marks and such. Anything would be better than that.
Kids who need cosmetic tattooing are of course exempt....In my home state ( well its home Now anyway) of Missouri we are allowed to do this type of proceedure only under the supervision of a licensed physician...
I don't consider camouflaging an emotionally scarring birthmark in the same class as a "thug for life"or "I LOVE BRITTANY" tattoo
Do You?
Good question though...thanks for posting!...TAz
Unfortunately, I was only able to read a few of the comments and the first line of your initial message. As a mother I would be greatly touched if my daughter were to express her love etc in such a permanent way, but, I would however advise you to wait. You will change and your skin will change but not the tattoo. First of all much reserach is needed and secondly you will have to wait anyway- only unscrupulous artists would tattoo you- it is illegal here too- although judging by the number of under-18's roaming around England with one- obviously this is not heeded. It has taken me 30 years to research what tattoo I would like and only now have I decided- and along that journey I changed my mind a zillion times. (just to prove a point)! ha. Take heed- you dont want to end up scarred by a mistake.
Geordie! We are gonna get along just fine! Go post a new topic and get your ass into the fray.... And go post your pic in the tattoonow family. And hurry the hell up. And go to Tazfest. Got it?
For sure,
No tattooist in their right mind is going to tattoo a 13 year old unless its bootleg bobby tattooing you in his basement with his sweet home made tat gun. If you lil' teens are thinking about getting tattooed, just wait for it. It seems like it'll take forever but you do not want to mess around with something so permanent.
And no, if you're 13 you do not know what you will and wont regret. You think you do but its all a part of the adolescent mindset.
Just wait your turns and you'll thank us for it later!!
Or dont... I mean hell, its not our skin...
The studio I go to won't touch minors with or without a parent/guardian.
I GOT MY FIRST TATTOO AT 14 AND I DONT REGRET IT AT ALL THEN I GOT MY SECOND AT 16 AND IM 18 NOW IM PLANNING ON GETTING ALOT MORE AND I DONT REGRET THEM AT ALL AND PROB NEVER WILL MAKE SURE U GET SOMETHING U WILL ALWAYS WANT ON UR BODY
Al...AL!!...Thats your cue bro!
And Oh Yeah kets see this piece of art ya got at 14....RIGHT!!!!
Bet its a good one huh?
Moron!
Yeah, I wanna see some hot 14 year old art too. Never seen any! Probably never will! Are you sure there is such a thing? Miraculously, we never seem to see any of these incredibly grown up 14 year olds post their art on this forum. Well, just remember, when you get tired of the playboy bunny, Taz does cover ups!!!
Th epoint of the tattoo is not about wanting a tattoo its about wanting something on your skin as an expression of you that means something.
I really dont agree with people saying i want a tattoo but dont know what to get. It should be the other way round...You want a *** so you get it tattood.
I had my first tattoo at 14 another at 17 and will be getting my third in a couple of weeks i am now 20.
All my tattoo's have alot of meaning to me that will stay with me for life.
At any age you know truly what is within you, yes things change but some things dont.
Dont discuss what age is wrong or right. Its about wanting to express yourself with something that will never change.

Go ahead and get that tattoo at 14 and I'll see you in about 4 to 5 years to get it removed by me maybe even sooner and make sure you get that loved one names and have 10 kids life is so good mommy wheres daddy.
Hey Kid,
I've been reading these replies you've gotten and I want to know what it is you're thinking about getting. I'm 15 and I agree AND disagree with the adults in this thread. I think you should wait until you're older, to make sure its something you REALLY want and not just a fad, or something you'll regret. I'm getting a tattoo for my sixteenth birthday. But you adults have got to stop thinking that all us kids want is barney and bands on us forever. All I'm getting is 3 little stars on my hip, nothing I'm going to regret when I'm older. I mean sure, when I'm 80 I'm not going to want to go around showing everyone my kickass tattoo, but I'm not going to regret it either. So if your idea is something simple, sure, go for it. It's your life. But you SHOULD wait until you're older and know what you want.

jesus, parents letting 14,15 & 16 year olds get tattoo's? as a parent, i will never give my kids permission to get tattooed untill they are 18, and thats only because when they are 18 its legal and they can make up their own minds, and speaking as an apprentice, i definetly see something wrong if an artist has to tattoo 14 year olds as a sorce of income, i would never even contimplate tattooing a minor.. what do they ask for anyway? power rangers and pokemon?.. cos those will always be cool lol !
Hi, I am also 14 and i also want a tattoo. It isn't illegal but it is a mistermeaner and the only thing that happens is that you or the tattooist has to pay a fine of no less than 100.00 or no more than 500.00. But i have always wanted one and the one i want i know i wont regret it because the one i want i want on the bottom part of my wrist and it's a chinese symbol for courage. And i want it because i got to go back to a school i left last year because i wasn't getting along with some people. So i want that tattoo so whenever i feel scard or depressed i can look at my wrist and it would say courage and it would remind me of the courage i had to even get the tatto and courage i had to even go back to that school.
Why chinese? dont you think there are better ways to symbolize what you are going through? dont you think that you might be able to get better artwork after you live through the rest of your teen years while learning all about the possibilities of art and the sacred art of tattooing? I mean, hey, no skin off our backs... if you go get the chinese symbol for courage like a zillion other kids we will probably see you in 10 years to zap it with the laser or cover it... Costs more.
You are wrong on so many counts.
If its a misdemeanor that means it IS a crime!!!!! And it CAn be charged as a felony in Al if the prosecutor deems it endangering a minor which they frequently do. Up to 5 years in PRISON.
And its not a CINESE symbol, it JAPANESE!!
Its apparent that you have not done your homework and you are too young and immature to get a tattoo even if it were legal but its NOT!!
i agree with the guys comment above it is illegal and i think that parents going with there kids so they can get the tatoo thing is bullshit no tattoo artist in there right minds would risk going to jail for a damn little kid i wouldnt damn kids
Whatever you kids plan on getting, I hope it doesn't involved any text or Ur TaT will B like Wiked MesEd uP.
There is a BIG difference between Japanese and Chinese! and the one im getting is courage written in CHINESE.......
And why would we want it removed when it means something to us?...........
Im 15.&& i've read threw all of these messages.I find it weird how that TAZ person has to reply to everything everyone writes[[wow, no life]] and he'll probably say something about me but whatever.TAZ needs to grow up.Well i got a tattoo.I made sure that it wasn't a logo or my boyfriends name or something that i would grow out of.My dad died last year so in memory of him i got a drum with drumsticks and it says ,"i miss you daddy".[He was a drummer]my tattoo will be with me forever,i know, but now so will my memories of my father.Basically i recomend not getting a logo or name or anything cheessy on your body. But as i've learned you only live once and something can happen to ANYBODY at anytime so don't regret anything.Get something that represents you or your ideas, emotions, etc.&& don't get it just to "be cool" or "rebel" because that makes us ALL look bad.
sugarandspice- taz replies to everything because he is trying to pass his knowledge to the people who need it, like a 14 year old about to get a tattoo. i can understand where youre coming from about ur tat for ur dad. my best friend passed away when we were 16, and i got his portrait tattooed on my arm in his memory... but, i waited until what wouldve been his 19th birthday. i picked out my first tattoo when i was 16, but i waited to get it till i was 18. i figured if i still wanted the same thing 2 years later, i could live with it. while all my friends were getting scratcher tats, i was drawing up the stuff i planned to get later on. now that im 25 and a tattoo artist, those same friends are coming to me to cover up those homemade atrocities... and thats exactly what they are... atrocities. my advice to all minors wanting a tattoo, take your time. dont rush into it. find the perfect design. research and find the perfect artist. save up the money for the tattoo, and make it your b-day present to urself for your 18th.
hey you guys okay i am 14 as well. and i have read everyones comments and i still want a tattoo not like im rebelling b/c i just want it b/c it is out of the ordinary for me for example i am a 4.0 student and every1 expects me to be perfect and i want to show them im not and i like to do crazy things just like the rest of my fam. it is going to be in an innocent area not like a tramp stamp etc. it is gonna be a the top of my back so i can cover it up w/ shirts but when i want to show it off just wear a spaghetti strap or a halter it is going to be 3 small flowers not any color just the 3 flowers. is it that okay and my dad said he will have a friend do it for me. also how bad will it hurt???

If you are a 4.0 student then I assume you can read?
Then read all the posts above from professional artists telling you to wait until you are of legal age.
No PROFESSIONAL tattoo artist will tattoo anyone under age.
Hey,
I understand what it is to love the look of a tattoo. To want your own little piece of body art. I am 38 and I got my first tattoo at 36. I waited 20 years. I have a 7 yr old who I have told can tattoo or pierce anything she chooses when she turns 18. BUT this is what she HAS to know...
WHEN you choose to make yourself different from whatever the current the majority of those around you considers "normal" you also are saddling yourself with a large responsibility. You will have to work 3 times as hard to prove to those around you who ABSOLUTELY WILL judge you on your appearance, that you are a normal, responsible, non criminal member of society.
At your age if you are tattooed and go into place, you will be targeted in people's minds as the potential trouble maker because you have chosen to make yourself different.
Anyone with a brain KNOWS that people should be judged individually on character and NOT on looks and choice of style, but the majority of the population at this time, WILL prejudge you based on your look. The reality of the current society is not ideal in that way.
"...i am a 4.0 student and every1 expects me to be perfect and i want to show them im not and i like to do crazy things just like the rest of my fam."
I copied and pasted that from your post, and that statement right there proves to me you are getting the ink for the wrong reason. You NEVER get a tattoo to show or prove anything to anyone. You get a tattoo for YOU. Clearly you are a smart kid. So take the good advice of someone who at 38 is STILL learning ( and that is a good thing, the day you stop learning, about yourself and the world, is the day you doom yourself to stop growing and evolving.) You have FOREVER to do the inking thing, to do a zillion other things. There will still be tattooing and artists when you are 20, 30, 40, and 100. It will all be there.
Can you think of something you wore in 6th grade and LOVED. you thought it was great? And now, you look at it and think, "eh, it was ok, or ick that sucked?"
Right now your tastes are changing. I PROMISE YOU at 18 you will feel you have figured out a lot of the world and you know hwo you are and what you want and then at 23 you will look back and realize EVERYTHING you were at 18 has changed and grown SOOOOO much in just 5 years.
The REAL responsible decision here is tell yourself you will get a tattoo and let yourself grow and see what you like in 10 years, and decide from there.
The last thing I will leave you with if you chose not to wait is what I will tell my daughters in terms of tattoos....
Never put a name of any kind on your body and never put a cartoon character on your body, What you choose to put on there should NEVER be JUST something you like the look of, because I dont care how old you are, if you are just going by something you like the look of, you will TOTALLY get bored with it in 10 years. IT HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING to you, represent something about you, or your experience.
Do you like the same tv shows you liked when you were 9? The same music? the same anything? It is going to change every coupe of years until you are 25 or so, then it will slow down. THAT is the time to begin to consider a tattoo.
best of luck to you
applezz
What is it you are thinking of getting? Looking back...and, sadly its kind of far, I dont think there is much at 14 that isnt a mistake. I mean really, is that what being a teenager is FOR..is to make whatever mistakes will haunt you forever.
Having said that.....I married the man I met when I was 14 and I am still hopelessly, in love with him. SO perhaps some things at 14 arent?...hummm
E
Applezz, Great post , I only hope some of these kids will listen to it!
Not to mention, no-one is completely full grown when you're 14.
So you'll grow. And your skin will stretch. Causing the tattoo to stretch.
Point?
The tattoo will look distorted.
Okay, I'm 14 and to the kid who started all this.
Bottom line is, if you're 13 or 14 and your parents let you get a tattoo, chances are you're probably white trash all the way.
Jesus, listen to the ADULTS on here saying to wait. I'm pretty sure they know what they are talking about.
Wait til you're 18, think about what you want, then get it done.
I'm glad my mom didn't let me get tattoes when I wanted one, if she did I'd probably have some shitty ass N'SYNC tat >.< Man I love my mom for that lol I'm waiting til' im 18, you should too.
You're parents should have their butts kicked for even concidering it!! I also bet you're one of the teens who think pot leaves are cool too huh? ( :
Alrighty... i'm 19 now right.
My friend from Melbourne and numerous other friends had tats done when they were 15, 16 anyways under the age line.
One got a bumble bee on her bum when she was I think ... 15?
Were all grown up now, but I don’t say that i've stopped growing because I haven’t. I’ve stalled my thoughts on getting one so far because of that issue and I feel the need to research it more thoughraly. I want the best quality artistically and work wise.
Another friend of mine got on her lower abdomen a butterfly with some tribalish lines ... in my opinion I though it looked stupid and trashy. Then one on her lower back which was pretty much the same.
They both have strong personalities and probably would never say they regret it. But now I bet they do.
Maybe I think too much? Or maybe i’m taking to account everything?
I wanted ink when I was younger too.
What stopped me was the idea of upsetting my mum, she’s a fragile mind. I drew on my self all the time to make up for it, she'd yell at me to not do it believing id get "ink poisoning" which was silly.
But now being 19 I still don’t really think i’m mature enough to do it, i’m working constantly on designs.
But I know how shit it is to be told what u cant have, but if u make the right choice and don’t get one now, u wont look like a complete F***in tool when your 20 and believe me you'll be 18 before you realize it and thinking to your self.. "Man I wish I was 12 again"
Comming of age for me came with alot of responsibliltys, enjoy your childhood while you can, seriously.
thank you, thank you and a million times thank you!! I am now cool again (at least in my 14 yr olds eyes) I had her sit down and read this thread and she has decided it would be better to wait until she's 19 for her tattoo. I especially thank all you little morons with your "go for it" posts. You showed her how foolish she sounded. Oh the clarify....dat be a diss not props. Even your peers think your idiots. And like the previous poster suggested, don't forget your face hopefully we'll bump into you and solidify her decision but if our paths don't cross until your all grown up....don't for get my fries, I hate that!
do yourself a favor and wait til you're older. think about it do you still like the same things you did when you were say,8? probably not. you're still a kid and right now you're into kid things. wait til you get a lil older and spend the time thinking about what will mean something to you throughout the years.you'll be glad you waited. and you'll get a much better tattoo as well, cuz i don't know too many (if any) QUALITY tattooers who'd touch a 14 year old with a needle anyway
heres my underage tattoo story.
when i was 16 i wanted to get a tattoo of a rat fink on my arm. i figured if i got started sooner rather than later i would be slung by the time i was 18 or 19. basically i was impatient. the rents said no ofcourse so i forged the signatures and did it anyways. im now 18 and absolutely hate that i did it. it looks horrible and tacky. dont get me wrong i dont regret getting tattood i love them and have many more since ive turned 18. i just think that if i would have waited a while and thought of something else i wouldnt be looking for a good artist to cover that spot of my sleeve. i know your 14 and are probably set on the tattoo idea...im just saying really really think twice before you get it.
oh and one more bit of advice.
make sure its something youll enjoy your ENTIRE life. because thats how long it will be there.
Im also a 14 year old wanting a tattoo, and have been reading most of these replies. Which i some what agree, but yet i dont see how you can tell someone you are going to regret it in the future. 'Wait 8 years and tell us if you regret it'. You have no idea what the tattoo will mean or is about. If its something meaningful then i say go ahead, go for it. Just because others chose something stupid to get tattooed on their bodies, dosnt mean you will. So i say go get some ink. As long as you make it worth something to you.
I was 14 when I got my first tattoo... , and It still looks then same as the day I got it. everyday I just want to cut if off my leg.
please god kid wait!!!!!!! wait wait wait. but since you probally did it anyway... i hope it turns out well, and its not to big
Caitlin, the problem is you usually ask what the great idea you will never forget is, and its almost always something like the japanese symbol for love, or a plain black star, or some other very non-artistic non-creative idea. last week a 17 year old was looking for a photorealistic hedgehog, and that will make a great tattoo, after she saves for the next few months and gets it for her birthday. Basically, if your mature enough to get a tattoo your mature enough to wait on it for a while. And if your not and jump the gun, then 99% of the time you have a coverup, laser job, or some other tattoo gone bad. ha.
Heyy... uhm, well, I've read everything that everyone's said here, and I'm 13, but I really want to get a commemorative tattoo for my grandpa. He died of cancer almost two years ago... I can't think of any kind of tattoo I can get though. I don't want some stupid heart with a banner saying grandpa, but I want some sort of meaningful picture. I think I'm ready to get one but it has to be right. I've been thinking about it for almost two years but I still haven't found anything that I really like. I know that my grandpa liked fishing and stuff, but- oooh, big shocker- I don't really want some big-ass fish on my arm. I've found someone to do it, my cousins long-time boyfriend, he has his own shop and does great work so now it's only a matter of finding the right one. If you have any ideas, suggestions, comments, please post them. Thankkkssss!
the girl asked a simple question and all everyone did was give their opinions. it is her body and her choice. if she regrets it 10 years from now, thats her problem, not yours. she's the one who is gonna have to pay to get it removed. so if anyone really knows the anwser:if it is legal or not, please let her and i both know. because i am in the same situation here. i am going to be 16 in november and i want to get a tattoo for my birthday. i used to live with both of my parents. id live with my mom for a week and my dad for a week. but then i told my dad that i dont want to live with him any more. so i live with my mom most of the time and i go to visit my dad every other weekend. the court order still says that i am supposed to be living with my mom and dad both though for equal amounts of time. my mom is letting me get the tattoo, she said she will take me. i dont know what my dad will do if he finds out. all i want to know is, do i have to have both parents permission, could my dad get the guy that gave it to me in trouble, and could he get my mom in trouble. if anyone knows, please let me know.
I am also a 14 year old who is interested in getting a tattoo. My mom and her fiance both said they allow me but my mom has to agree with the tattoo. We have already talked to 2 places and they both said they would tattoo me. I say if you really want a tattoo get it but beware of the concequences. There are many pros and cons to getting a tattoo and you have to weigh them out to decide. I am thinking about getting some kind of chinese dragon to resemble my strength and courage with maybe the chinese character for strength. I was also thinking about getting something to do with my family, but recently I have been looking at ancinet sybols such as the egyptian symbol for etranl life. I know that I am ready for a tattoo and I know what I will hate when im 20 so im going to get a tattoo but it all depends on what you get.

Hello again, well after my 1st post i went looking for more tattos and symbols. i am pretty convinced on what I am getting. It is the Egyptian symbol for life, reincarnation and rebirth. Obviously i dont think I am going to regret that when I am 20. Copy and paste this site in your adress bar if you would like to see the symbol and other great symbols.http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bldefsankh.htm
I am thinking about getting it either on my forearm, maybe closer to my wrist and only about 1-2inches. I don't see why my mom wouldn't let me get it but the tattoo will only take maybe 30mins.-1hr.. I hope to get it before Thursday(the 1st day back to scholl).
Make sure its meaningful!
never get one this early. you need to be sure of what you want, and if you get it this early your likes and dislikes will change as you get older, and the ink will always be there. NO WAY!!!! im 13 yrs old and i rlly want one but im not until 18-19 because i want to be sure, and i already have lots of designs that i love, and im just going to wait to see if i still even like them when i get older and if i do then ill get it.
Yo man i say do what you want. Me im 15 going to be 16 next month and my parents agreed to take me for my birthday. At first i thought that i didnt want to go because i didnt know what i wanted and i didnt want to get anything stupid that i am goin to regret in the future. Then i thought about it and i decited that i wam goin to get something that i know is never goin to change in my life like my heratige, mother, father, siblings and such. So as long as its not sumthin that is stupid i say go for it

HELP PLZ!
Alright, even if minors ARE mature enough to decide for themselves..and some of them really are, their bodies might still be changing/growing, and it might distort the way the tattoo looks as they grow older.
I feel that its not so much the state of mind that they're in due to their age (because honestly, i've seen 30 year olds who are still complete fucking morons..Some people are mature, some arent, its as simple as that).
Ok, to all of you minors, I was being SARCASTIC when I posted that I'd tattoo you, I won't really tattoo a minor. It's funny how many adults commented on my post with a laugh, but I keep getting minors asking me to tattoo them because they don't get the humor in the post.
dont get n e thing retardded like im also 14 n im getting me tatto dis week buht im getting me moms name on my chest u should get a name rather a picture good luck
It seems to me that you have more common sense than your parents! I say that because you question the fact that your only 14, however, your parents seem okay with the idea! What morons you have as parents! Sorry, but I call it like it is. And shame on the shop, if it truly is a reputable shop, for doing this to a child! Please wait until you are old enough to vote or go fight for your county before you think about getting a tattoo! Any REAL tattoo artist won't even think about tattooing someone under the age of 18. You've already proved to me you have the common sense to question this issue, so please show eveyone here reading this you have the smarts to wait a few more years!!
hi, im 14 also. i was planning on getting a tattoo this week. i was going to get something small and meaningful on my hip. do you think this is a bad idea? because i have wanted one since i was 12 and have been researching ever since, and now im finally allowed. Also, every heard of WRECKING BALM?? if i dont want it when im 70 ill just but some wrecking balm on it and BOOM! no more tattoo.
okay, I'm 14 at the moment and am getting a tattoo in 11 days..
I have wanted one for about two years or so now, but when I first started wanting one, I was going through a phase that I got out of very quickly and I'm really glad I didnt get it..but now I am actually getting something meaningful..about 6mon ago one of my very best friends passed, and I'm getting her name
I have been looking for a small butterfly to go with it and haven't been able to settle on one yet, I am letting my mom pick it out though so that I know that I will lie it for a while..but another thing you have to know is that I'm a junior in high school and hang out with people two to three years older than me..
I say go for it of you want one, but make sure that it is very strategically placed and something that will mean something to you forever..
And to response to some of the previous replies, if your parents let you FET a tattoo when you are 14 you arent trailer trash..
My family is far from it and my parents are signing for me
I want a small tattoo with like my name or anishals on my right arm because I want to do something that I won't regret. I'm sorry but the what the other people are saying, tattoos aren't really bad if you get it for the right reason. LIke something very small isn't so bad. But something really big...now that's bad. You shouldn't listen to that "When you get old it's gonna look like a dried up piece of clay." Oh well it was my decision if I wanted to make it then I made it. Now I understand if you get like a ugly clown. Now that's something you shouldn't get. Cause 1) its gonna get at night 2) It'll look like a witch when you get old [trust me I know what clowns look like on old people] and 3)It'll just creep you out. So, it's your decision not nobody else's and GET SOMETHING SMALL. Don't get anything bigger than your pinky.
Also I DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK I SAID SAY WHAT EVA CUZ YALL CANT SAY IT TO MY FACE!!!
I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT I AM 14 AND IM GETTING A TATTOO. I AM A FREAKIN DOWN TO EARTH CHILL GIRL. I AM GETTING A SMALL BUTTERFLY ON MY LEFT HIP TO REPRESENT MY SPIRITUAL FREE'NESS OF ME. I AM AN OLD SOUL AND I AM SO ECSTATIC TO GET IT. I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS, ITS MINE, NOT YOURS. ALSO, WHEN I AM 70 YEARS OLD I AM NOT GONNA PARADE THE STREETS IN A BELLY SHIRT AND LOW-RISE JEANS WHERE MY TATTOO IS SHOWING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!!!!!!!!! SAYING IM GONNA REGRET IT WHEN IM OLD. N E W S F L A S H !!!!!!!! WHEN IM OLD I AM NOT GONNA SHOW MY LOWER HIP TO THE WORLD!!!!!! SO THANKS FOR NOTHING, IM GOING TO GET IT. BYE :)
yeah, nothin' like the good ol' "SPIRITUAL FREE'NESS OF ME"...
I love it. Don't listen to anyone. Run, don't walk to the nearest kitchen and get it immediately.
are you making fun of me? or agreeing with me?
PLEASE get that tattoo at 14 so I can laser it off when you hit 20. I just dont understand why a 14 year old wants to get a tattoo getting a tattoo is NOT the cool thing to do the cool thing to do is wait till you understand what and why you want to have a tattoo. Ask anyone who knows me they will tell you I bring pain when I have to laser a tattoo. Everyday I hear It in my shop O I got this when I was young I wish someone would of said no. One more thing any person who Tattoos anyone under the age of 18 should have his or her hands cut off and the person who signs for a kid to be Tattooed give them jail time lots of jail time. I own a Tattoo shop been in this biz a long time I have 3 kids and I made all 3 waited till they where 18 my rules even though they tried. Remember Rethink Your Ink Laser Tattoo Removal & Laser tattoo Editing.

omfg who cares go for it why tell ppl about it just get what you want dont go around talking about it if its for personal reason then do it
I understand the general consensus being said by the older population here but I would argue that they are being fairly stereotypical towards 14 year olds. I am 14 and am trying to find a place that would do me. I have thought about the repercussions a great deal and the fact that most likely this piece of art will be with me till I'm dead. I've been thinking about this for about 3 months now and have settled on what I want. It's something that I believe will apply to me for as long as I live. It's nothing outspoken and can be covered by a long sleeve tee-shirt so when I go for that job interview that will most likely decide how I live my interviewers decision will not be biased. What I will be getting is the quote "I've failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." on my right arm/shoulder area. I'm not doing this to spite my parents or to lash out at society. I'm doing it because it means a lot to me. In fact, my parents are getting it for me but that's a little beside the point. All that matters is that I've thought this through, I've thought about the disease factor, that fact that yes my skin will stretch and that maybe I wont like it but I've also thought that If I live my life thinking about all the negatives then perhaps I'll never experience the positives. All I'm saying is that before a tattoo artist rejects me because of my age he should meet with me and get to know me. If he still thinks I'm impulsive and rash after meeting me then I fully respect his decision. I realize it's illegal but unjustly so. I believe that this decision I am making is much more thought through then the majority of people who get a tattoo done. I'd just like some equality.

you can have "equality" when you're 18 and its legal. you've only spent three months thinking about your tattoo? you should spend the next four years doing some research and gain some respect for the art of tattooing, there are many fantastic artists out there and its worth waiting for. That's what I did, and I was fortunate to have my first tattoo created by Carson Hill. It's better to wait and get quality work, instead of getting something that you'll most likely regret in the future.
i think you should wait.i mean im fourteen and i want one too.i was about to get one, but im thinking about waiting because i might regret it when i turn like 20.
i think u should get what u want who cares if people think ur to young if u grow out of it then wait till ur 18 then go get it coverd not a big deal and there is a new cream called reching ball if i even speled that rite and it wares of tattoos so if anything ends up happening to ur tattoo then try that cream out and if it does streach and u dont want ppl to see it cause its in a place that is visable but ur skin color foundation like that make up shit girls but on there face that should cover it to u get to do something about it but it sucks cause u have to keep putting it on
Hey, im Dannie and im 14 years old, i say if you want to get a tattoo go for it. its your regret later not anybody elses. im getting a tattoo in a few weeks, its only small. all im getting is 3 music notes at the bottem corner of my back. My mum and dad have both agree'd. this is because i have had a lot of piercings, and my tattoo with not be a rebel sign it will be something that i want. maybe it will look utter shite when im 20 but atleast i would learn from my mistakes and not have it done again. i think if you have your heart set on it then go for it. i admit myself its stupid getting one at 14, but yeah the only reason im getting one is because i designed it myself, thought it by myself and its something that i want and no body else can change that. if you have your heart set on it then go for it, just make sure you think it through first. xxx
Im 16 and got my first tattoo in November. Im from Nh but I had to go to Vermont to get it done. It was a legit place. Ive wanted the same tattoo since i was 12. I dont regret it at all.. and I dont think I ever will. I got my mom, dad, and my brothers intails in three hearts that are linked together on the back of my right shoulder. I always said that I would get something that will always mean a lot to me and something that isnt going to change. Like my family, their always going to be my mom, dad, and brother. If you wanted to get a memory of your mom, I would wait till you were a few years older and think about how you want it done and where you want it on you. Just remember that when you are older your gonna have to get a job and a lot of places are not going to allow tattoos where they can be seen. Im not saying dont get it, esp if its something that means a lot to you.. Just think about it a little bit more.
Hey, I just want some thoughts. I'm 14, turning 15 and want to get a tattoo. None of that stuff that most people would think is a 14-year-old tattoo, it's actually a tribal tattoo of jesus. (Link is http://www.matthewrupert.net/blog/tattoo4.jpg) For those who took a look, the blood would be black, and I wouldn't get the John 15:13 writing. Now I'm catholic, not hardcore but I just like the idea, and I don't think that's something that would change over time. I'm not worried at all about the process, or finding an artist. (Though if anyone know any in Ontario, I would appreciate it.) What I am worried about though is how it might distort when I grow. I'm 5'11', work out 3 times a week, and am defined for my age. I'm supposed to end up being 6'4', and I think that might distort my tattoo. I plan on getting it on my front right shoulder. (To get an idea, lower collar-bone area in hight, but over on the shoulder. Kind of hard to explain I guess.) It would be about 4'x2.5' Please let me know if I should get it, or if it will be wrecked.
Cody, I would not get that tattoo. your body isnt done growing and neither is your mind. Im getting all my catholic inspired shit lasered off me because my mind outgrew it. Wait till your twenty and get a good artist to do a slamming tattoo. Only hack tattoo underage kids cause they get get any real clients..
WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!
Even if you know what you want, I started mentally designing my backpiece at 14, finally got an artist to put ink to skin at 24, and regretted it almost immediately! He's a wonderful artist, does quality work, has been featured in several tattoo magazines... but he has a very heavy tribal bent that doesn't work well with my stonework/goth/fantasy mental imagery. I ended up having my cousin go back over it 2 years later to try and flesh things out a little more, but he was confined to working with the lines that were already there. For those of you who are sure of what you want, be certain the artist understands and even shares your stylisitic leanings before you ever put ink to skin!
Not all of us are blessed enough to have professional family members, but for me, noone will ever tattoo me again but my cuz! He has talent and understands my preferences like no other, honestly i htink my own style has influenced a lot of his work because i was the first older person to encourage his art and as kids he was always drawing for me
One thing thats always annoyed the shit out of me is when tattoo artists say the wont tat hands or neck...Like theyre choosing 4 me that its not appropriate... Especially when I walk in with both my hands tattooed n 1 side of me neck n she wont tattoo behind my ear..N its always a chick who thinks shes oh so superior 2 say I should have tats in visible places...Wtf...U want tats just not visible ones...
stop sayin i suggest you wait till your 20 or w/e cause im 14 and im getting a tattoo and no matter what anyone says about how wrong it is or that i'll just want it covered up when im 22, im 14 and i don't want to listen to you all so what makes you think the person who wrote this topic is going to listen either? your waisting your breath or in other words your wasting your timee!
were is your shop so i can come get a tattoo i really want to get one and do we have to bring both parents or just one parent
I think its great that you want a tattoo, but i'm just going to say you should wait until your 18.
Can I say, I got a tattoo two months ago, im 14. I made sure I didnt get anything that can go out of date, I have a small bow with 3 little stars round on my right hip.
My parents dont know I have it and would go absolutely mental if they found out, honestly, if you want one, you get one :)
I absolutely love it !
ok so i was 13 when i got my tattoo, im 15 now. so first thoughs to think about, do you want your whole school knowing cause it goes around fast, then teachers findd out..... but anyways i got my tattoo of a wolf on my stomach, i got this tattoo because it has meaning to me. i dont regret it cause the more i think about it the better it makes me feel, and it looks really cool ;) if you want a tattoo my advise is think what it means to you. then think even harder. then if you havent gotten sick of thinking of it GO FOR IT... BTW think of a bee sting but vibrating for an hour
i think that it would be ok i mean not a problem wher do u stay like what country do u stay in bc im 14 and i want a tattoo so bad and ur getting urs this week itz so not fair i wish i waz u right.but i think itz real cool.good luck
I speak from experience.... Now listen up you little nigger! I can send you through a 15 week test that will show you that you do NOT want a tattoo. I know techniques that will challenge your body and change your life F-O-R-E-V-E-R! Puberty is tough on the tally wacker! In this 15 weeks I will spank your mind and body. Giving you a torturous but yet pleasurable experience that will really chaff your boobicles. Nipples are the number one cause of breast milk. At any rate I don't think you should get a tattoo because your a wimpy little girl that just wants to be like her retarded sister, who i would also bang every tuesday in march.

Im 18 now and i still like all my tats from when i was 14. My advice would be get something that really means something, not random ass pictures. I couldnt get mine done in a parlor but I had a friend that did all that shit, I'm not so sure you'll be able to get one in a shop even W/ your parents. Really depends on who you ask. Good luck with your tat.
