I need some pictures of a cross wrapped in barb wire i want to see how it looks. thanks
yep
yep me too...I need some FREE advice on the winning powerball numbers... Partner, nothin is free! Try these two sites...loads of designs www.tattoofinder.com www.bullseyetattoos.com M
Then go to a shop that has tattoo designs plastered all over the walls and pick one!!...Its just that simple....of course you will have a tattoo that thousands if not millions of other people have.....If that doesn't bother you go for it! Now if ya want something really cool and one that only YOU have go to a custom artist and shell out some dough for a kickass custom tattoo! A custom tattoo is reaaly not that much more expensive than a "sticker"tattoo off the wall or out of a book. Ya get what ya pay for...if ya go cheap its gonna look cheap!...TAz
Am I the only one who wonders where people come up with some of the ideas they get for tattoos and not just clients, but some of these flash artist? What the hell the barbed wire have to do with a Cross? I mean Christ was crucified on the Cross, His head wrapped in THORNS (not barbed wire) and , as I've pointed out to several people over the years, I seriously doubt there was any such thing as barbed wire when Christ was crucified. I've been tattooing over 40 years now, maybe I'm just getting old but I thought tattoos were supposed to represent/symbolize something
Well then lets get really nit picky and think about the other erroneous symbologies that are common...Christ was almost assuredly nailed through the WRISTS not the palms as is most commonly depicted...The key word you used is symbology. Most tattoos are drawn for their AESTHETIC appeal, that is , the way they LOOK to the person getting them. ARt does not need to be either symbolically or historically accurate...wouldn't THAT be boring? This entire idea is called artistic license and artists utilize this method every day...thats what makes it ART and not a drafting excersize.TAZ
thank you .................art and not a drafting exercise .....or stealing art and calling it realism.
HUH?
i dont know
I ain't too sure I'd call caring what I put on people being accurate and something they can wear with pride as being 'nit pick' and while I certainly know what 'artistic license' is, my point is/was some are taking it a bit too far. As I own/run my own Studio and have a website (www.drjohnstats.com, in case anyones interested) I get alot of "flash" offers sent to me and alot of it is crap, artistic license, my ass. Red haired Christ, six legged Scorpions, Fairies with club feet and extra joints in their legs to mention just a few. As to the comparisome to a 'drafting exercise', I don't see where THAT came from, since drafting is little more than straight lines and printing and if THAT was what Tattooing really was, I'd have died from boredom a long time ago. I wish I had a copy of a design a lady bought over the 'net from Bullseye, I'd challenge anyone to explain that piece of crap as 'artistic license'.
Drafting is little more than straight lines?.....What planet do you live on?....Drafting by nature incorporates lines , curves, coloring, shading, perspective and on and on...most true draftsmen are artists as well...do your homework doc! Oh yeah went to yer website...hmmmmmmm!...Sorry for your loss of Elvira I too am an animal lover and lost my best friend Guido my great dane after 11 good years...I sympathize!!!!!....TAz
Okay, ya sure as hell got me on the 'drafting' error and I appreciate what you said 'bout Elvira but still, you must understand what I was refering to and know as I do that a LOT of the 'flash' ain't even close to right and THAT is/was my point. And, as I'm certain YOU know as well as I do, most clients are not that savvy, they don't spot those inaccuracies and I, for one, am getting tired of having clients come in that someone slapped that crap on asking/expecting me to perform miracles trying to fix after they or someone else spots the screwups.
Here's my favorite man, Because I'm of Scottish descent. I saw one the other day where this guy had a sexy scottish pinup girl (circa 1940's ) playing bagpipes. I gotta tell ya. I play bagpipes competitiively, and I know no sexy women in back seamed hose that play them. It's a cool thought, but most of the guys I know that play pipes are huge and covered with hair. Maybe the art is bettter than real life.
