I need your help

I am looking to get my first tatoo, but can't really come up with exactly what I want. I have been through a lot in my life and I wanted something to represent "struggle and hardship" possibly something that I can add to later when I finally make it through all of it. Anyone have any good ideas?

Go put down a deposit with a killer custom artist, tell him or her you want a tat that represents the fact that you WILL OVERCOME struggle and hardship, and will not go quietly.... and see what kind of killer shit they come up with! Look into Koi... Koi is symbolic of perserverance.

Actually, Koi ARE fish :) Google Koi and symbolism and you should be able to find a wealth of information.

Since there is a water theme here, maybe an anchor incorporated into it as well, nothing says struggle like having an anchor weighing you down!
