im a bit of a whimp when it comes to needles anyone remember their BCG? well i thought that was painfull kinda..but i had a jab recently and didnt think it was that bad at all and i stayed standing but i am wanting a tattoo either on my lower back or on my front right above my trouser line. I am really really wanting this tattoo i have designed myself but i don't know if i will be able to cope or if i will pass out. people that have tattooes already probably have no problems with needles and will just say "no it really doesnt hurt that much" but i want the truth... and hearing from others that don't like needles much and have tattooes will be great! thank you =]
I have always had a phobia of needles and I don't have any problems getting tattooed. My husband is very squeamish about getting shots or getting blood drawn and he is a tattoo artist. When you're getting a tattoo the tattoo needle is inside the tattoo machine and you don't really see it. If you're going to a good tattoo artist the needle should only touch the top layers of your skin. It doesn't feel like getting a shot where the needle is just jabbing into you. Most people describe the feeling like a light burning or a bee sting. I think it hurts a lot for the first few minutes and after that your body adjusts to the pain and it just feels like your skin is being irritated.
exactly what she said. . .it is NOTHING like gettting a regular shot at the dr/dentist. it is like a slow, regular slight burning sensation. i think your body naturally produces adrenaline which works as a painkiller, among other things.
it is very much a burning sensation- my artist who did the one I got friday describes it like dragging a hot match across your skin- pretty accurate- you don't really feel the needles at all. I will warn you though that the inner thigh and lower back are supposed to be the most painful place to get one. Mine was on my lower back and it hurt like a #*$&# - this is coming from someone who went through 25 hours of natural child birth this summer- so it's not pleasant, but totally bearable
everyone told me how painful the low back tattoo would be so i put it off for a few days and then gave in and went to get a large low back tat and i got to tell you i smoked and drank a coke while my artist did mine. There was little to no pain what i felt was vibration on the skin but no pain,
Hey there, first time i was going for one, i was scared of hell also for the pain, but really, all i did was laughing about it.... it felt ticklish, odd, not comfy feeling, but pain? no not really, a strong sensation it gave, but then..... remember what you will be getting in return, and if you really want it as you sayed.....then it shure would be worth it...... the feeling is not for always, its for short and isnt constantly. The person who places the tattoo should hold close eye on yah and give yah changes to 'breath' believe me, the result is your reward once the tattoo is done!! (( oh yeah and i got 3 by now and thinking about a forth, and like you i have a foby for needles)) draya
I agree with all the above and I'm covered in tattoo's. The best advice that I may give you is choose your tattooist well. When you walk into my tattooists shop it is literally like walking into a doctors surgery.....ie: VERY CLEAN. Also when a certain spot is being tattooed which is a bit touchy I just zoom out into another thought. But also I have been known to fall asleep during a session.... (relaxation) plays a big part. But I fall asleep because your body gets so use to it. Hope This Helps........... if you want it ....do it......
