INFECTED tattoo PLEASE HELP

Hi Taz, Been reading a lot of your info on tats..... Here goes got my 4th tat on Sat last week, only difference this time is the size(much bigger than my other3) any way first 2 days were fine tat was looking good, still a litlle red, then on the monday i noticed the red getting worse, then my arm started to swell, so i went straight to doc, who perscribed me 500mg antibiotics..... VERY strong..... Now the tat seems to be weeping thick yellow puss from a few places mostly the corners(tribal tat) have spoke to doc he seems to say this is good as infection is coming out, but my concern is how much of the color will be lost due to the infection(all black tribal tattoo). cos my theory is an infection can be cleared with antibiotics, but a tat can look horrible wit color missing.... any info will be greatfully recieved. you probably will lose some ink, but the artict should touch up any light spots for free. However, if you washed the tattoo with antibacterial soap twice a day, didn't swim or submerge it in water, let it breathe regularly, and kept it clean (especially if you live in a house with a dog or cat), you might want to think about going to a different artist, or at least talking to other clients to see if their tattoos got infected. Chances are it was a fluke and it won't happen again, but remember to make sure the shop you go to is CLEAN, BEFORE you get a tattoo.
