Ink Fixx Ointment:

12 messages · last activity 4/1/2010

Just thought I might suggest this option for those looking to try something better than A+D ointment. The Ink Fixx version goes on thin and smooth, allows the skin to breath without drying out, and promotes better healing. It comes in little puck containers that you just wipe your finger in and apply to the tattoo during the first 4 days or so of healing. I've been using it for 2 sessions now and it works much better for me than A+D, which gave me a lot of problems during the healing process. Keep in mind there is also a lotion version of Ink Fixx, but I found it wasn't as good as Lubriderm Sensitive Skin Therapy for that phase of tattoo healing.
Where do you get this stuff, do you have to order it over the net. Also how messy is it compared to a & d. Cambece
Ink Fixx isn't that great, I had my girlfriend used it on a piece and the stuff crystalized on the new tattoo and caused huge crusty scabs and we know how care for work. I would tell people to use Aquaphor and Aveeno (with oatmeal) to heal. I healed my girls entire 1/4 sleeve I did in just a matter of 5 days with maybe a tiny amount of dry skin after the peel, and almost no plastic looking stage so if you worry about healing time Aquaphor is the stuff. I tell my clients to apply it very thin allow it to sit on the skin for 15-20 minutes then pat off the remainder. People have a tendency to over do the healing ointments so taking off the surface ointment allows the skin to breath. I have used Ink Fixx,Tattoo Goo (I will use this if I don't have anything else),H2Ocean,Tattoo Majik and A&D as well as the old fashion Bacitracin which I tell people to stay far away from. I myself have found the Aquaphor to be the best but to each thier own but that is my $0.02 Peace, Drake
Drake Do you use Aveeno while still healing or after the intial 5-7 days. Also is Aquaphor available at local drug stores? I guess I'm old school, I have been using A&D and then just move on to some vitamin e. Cambece
you can find Aquaphor at your local CVS or Walgreen's in the skin lotion area, it is made by eucerin and you use it for the first 4 days then switch to Aveeno and use that as long as you want but I use it all the time even after the tattoo is healed just to make your skin moists and make the tattoo look nice and new.
Try H2Ocean Lotion or foam. they are great. www.h2ocean.com
stick with the lotion or the A&D. All these other products are way to overpriced and in my opinion are produced by companies who want to suck off the tit of our industry..
Except that it works much better on my skin than A&D ever did, so it can't be a scam as far as I'm concerned. I'll never go back to A&D.
Can anyone recommend the kind of AVeeno product to use in aftercare of my tatoo. I bought the baby rash stuff, what that wrong or should I have bought lotion. I am looking for the name on the bottle E.G. "sensitive skin" etc. thanks all !
I use ink fixx on all my tats and think its better than a&d because it doesn't stink and I never scab just a little peelingplus my guy in southboro gives you all you need for free.
I am in Australia and have tried to purchase a reasonable amount of Ink Fixx ointment direct from - www.inkfixxtattoosupplies.com - using my credit card.... MIKE the guy who answers the phone of the number listed has failed to send my order.... and refuses to reply to my emails also wont answer phone....seems I am out of pocket of $330.00... be warned. I actually had a problem with ink fixx when I got my first tattoo. It seemed to dry out to fast and when I was sleeping would dry out and peel so when I woke up there were flakes of colored skin on my bed and the tattoo ended up faded and looking like shit. Used eucerin for all my others and that would at least last for more than an hour without frying out.
