Hey Guys, my artist recommends lubriderm lotion for aftercare, but for some reason after a while, I just don't think my skin digs it all that much. Get little bumps, etc. I know it's supposed to be pretty mellow, but for some reason, I guess my skin just doesn't like it. I tried some of that Ink Fixx Lotion for several days and it seemed to work really really well. Anybody know any reason why this product wouldn't make a good "everyday" choice to keep em looking good?
Thanks for feedback....

Like I tol ya...Berts Badger Balm...the healing balm available at a Cracker Barrel near you!...I think people think I'm kiddin Al but this shit is better than ANYTHING i've ever used!!...Its pricey $10 but it works sooo good...try it DAMMITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAz
Is that the balm in the little pot that has a japanese wave on it? If so that's the stuff I used, I liked it alot, especially the distinctive -herby- kind of smell, now everytime I smell it it reminds of tattoos...kind of like the new car smell and instant happiness? Anyway, bummer it didn't work out for you, whatever balm it is you're using. When the bumps happen you might consider ditching everything and going for a dry heal for a couple of days then back with baby lotion. Some of the leaves near my armpit got agitated because of my bra and I ended up doing that, it seemed like it felt best with my body, given my previous experiences with rashes, abrasions, etc. Do what you feel best maybe? Just don't scratch it!

No NO NO!!
NEVER use baby lotion...and even your artist says on his forum not to use that crap...its loaded with harsh perfumes and lanolin which are both VERY bad for tattoos!!!!
Shame shame!!!
Sorry, I called it baby lotion, it isn't in reality. It's this jergens lotion that doesn't have anything in it at all, they sell it in the baby lotion aisle, but there aren't any perfumes etc. in it, it's for picky people that react to everything. Better now?

Thanks Guys... Burts Badger Balm? Okay Taz, it's worth a try!
Yeah Ahyln, it's got a wave on it. I didnt' have the balm, but it's the lotion. I was thinking for sort of everyday, once a day kinda stuff.
Maybe the balm might work better? I haven't had any experience with the lotion. That Badger stuff is great, it should be next to the Burt's Bees in Cracker Barrel, I've never used it on a tattoo, but the sleep balm makes my skin feel wonderful and knocks me out pretty effectively. Try out the sleep balm when you pick up the regular stuff, it's helped me to counteract my screwed up sleeping schedule from this past semester. That no-perfume, no allergen stuff worked for me, but then it was more of a contact rash mixed with a regular tattoo wound. I've yet to get "the bumps" but I hope your artwork stays intact with as few touch ups as possible when they finally go away.

TOLD YA!!!...its GREAT stuff!!...And it lasts forever!
Cactus,
My husband and I both got a tattoo last July. (My first and his second.) We had two different artist from the same shop and we were giving 2 different sets of after care instructions. He was given an can of H2Ocean and told to only use it and white lotion. I was told to wash it in warm water only and use Tat Ink Fixx. His tattoo dried out so bad and flaked out some of his color so he has to get it retouched. Mine is GREAT. I recommend using it all the time. We are looking for more Tattoos and he has stated he will use only the Ink Fixx on his this time as will I.
