IS IT INFECTED

well......... i got a tattoo like 3 days ago and its like really red... around it i got it in the inside of my leg like where my ankle is but in the inside of my leg.... its red and i don't know what to do....... it doesn'thurt but its red i hve 2 more tattoos one on my foot and one on my neck i don't remember if they did the same thing or not!! i haven't put my ointment on it so im kind of scared... I got it with a gun and everything clean but my cousin did it it wasn't a homemade gun so i need HELP!!!!!!!!

redness and such is norm with lower leg area it is very far from the heart but here is a personal fact i have found with my wife. whenever i did a tattoo we would use bacatracin ointment same reaction as you are having switched to triple antibiotic ointment same thing.tried a&d ointment same thing. i just touched up some work on her and damm tried tattoo goo same thing redness and such i finally got pissed and said may the tattoo god forgive me but use vasiline.redness went away and has healed very well.come to find out it was one of the ingredents in those ointments.she was having a mild reaction from one of those ingredents.so with every tattoo she will use the vaseline a ointment that most all artist are against for this healing.also no color was lost.or it could be the ink that was usedon your tattoo.keep us posted on it.

One of my tattoo's has red ink in it and it was really red swollen and itchy, I went to the doctor and come to find out I had a reaction to the red ink. They gave me an antibiotic and sent me on my way. Even now if I put a new lotion on it gets swollen a little and itchy. I had this tattoo done 8 years ago. So maybe you are having a reaction to a certain color ink. I was told a lot of people have reactions to red.
