is this normal?

i have had a tattoo for about 9 months now, total black ink and it took a while to heal but it finally did. lately i have noticed that the tattoo has lifted and that area is no longer smooth. if i run my fingers over i can feel the tat very lightly. is this normal?

I would go to the tattoo artist that did the tattoo and ask them. Or, if you dont trust them, find the most reputable tattoo artist you can and ask them in person. Where abouts do you live?

Yes, it is normal. SOmetimes the ink and you do not get along and if you sweat or just do normal day to day stuff it tends to "bubble". My ink does it when I get dehydrated. You said it took nine months to heal? That would be a bigger problem.

no, no, it didn't take 9 months to heal, maybe about 3-4 weeks for it to completely heal. it was only recently that i noticed that it bubbles up sometimes but i cant remember if it did this before or not. it was only recently i became aware of it. i live in so cal and the artist that did it did an ok job. it was a clean environment and everything so i am pretty sure it isn't an infection. i'll try and get hold of him though to ask.
