i learned my lesson so i'm gonna tell you the most logical answer. Find an artist near to where you live and go talk to him/her. tell them what you just told us and they will be more than able to customize you something. But make absolutely clear what you want the design to look like, what colors, how big, where it's going but then again the artist will most likely ask all of these questions. Good luck
wait i just noticed you said for
'the guys" is this for someone else who YOU will be tattooing?
If so your barkin up the wrong tree buddy. If I am right and it is for someone who you will be tattooing you really should develope some drawing skills first. Youre not gonna get that far as a tattoo artist if you cant draw a design up yourself at the drop of a dime. Not to discourage you but thats just how it is these days..most "flash" artists are out of business because they cant draw on their own worth a dam.And if I am wrong and it is not for someone who you will be tattooing then i mean no offense I just had to make clear that that is not the way to come up with a design dude.
OMG!!!! Who the heck are you to tell someone...anyone....what is and isnt "THE WAY" to come up with a design!? So what your saying is horioshi III, horitaka, horitomo...etc....are loser artist because they draw on inspiration from others?! Please man...i agree skills need to nourished and developed and bad art is bad tattoo art...but to cut someone down casue their a young tattooist and looking for inspiration from greats...? I dont know dude..how reference book you got in your workshop that you have used or probally still do...tuff guy...lol

best bet is to search out thru Japanese Artwork, if i could give you a direction i would look as some prints from more notable artists like
Hokusai
Kuniyoshi
Kunisada
Yoshitoshi
just to name a few, try the La County museum of art, they have a HUGE online gallery of tons of stuff. While keeping in mind that placement and size will have to be fitting to your neck, any good artist will be able to use some references you provide to create something perfect...
good luck!
