Cool alien guyu man...I like it!!!
I agree, obviously a race of Aliens who don't practice oral sex (ouch). Good work ,Jeremy...Doc
oh yeah, since it is an 'alien' it's teeth don't 'line up' as otherwise the right, upper canine should be outside the lower but then again, I haven't seen too many aliens close enough to know how their teeth line up so I don't know if that was intended or not but it's still good...Doc
Yeah, I definitely see what you're sayin doc...I'll make sure to remedy that next time! :), thanks.
Is it just me or does this kid seem to get better with each piece... I've only been an the forum like 2 months at most and I've seen the improvement. Way to go kid. Keep it up!. (Now, just don't get a big head on us....lol)
This drawing officially creeps me out. It's pretty wicked, dude.
;)
Cool man, great start. I'll talk shit but remember that you can already draw way better than I. I like the shading, I think if you pay great attention to lighting you already have the skills to make this come out pretty cool. One thing I would think about is how to use contrast to make things in the foreground pop out. If things in the back gradually Im not entriely convinced on the shading of the head, maybe if the eye we're more dramatic (bigger/more contrasty) maybe not. On guy's board the monthly assignment starts with a value study (just shaded with one color) so you can see how the piece "flows" and then they finish the piece off to get the full effect. But if something looks muddy and confusing you can tell right away. In any event afder this is shaded I'd also love to see some fine pencil (or something) detail going into the textures. Between dragons and the rocks you can really get in there and deck it out... What do you like and dislike about it?
Hey XL your picture is awesome.. my one critique (if you're looking for any) is that the wings should attach directly to the dragons back.. look at a bird, or better yet a bat.
Great job!

Hey man, it looks pretty good to me so far. Like the shading alot. I don't know much about the technical side of art but in my opinion, i think it might have been cool to make the head a little larger so we can see more detail..?
post again when it's done, love to see it all finished.
It looks to me like one of the alien's ears is disproportionately large and ill-placed.
Well gabe...as far as what I like, I'd have to say I love my shading, I like the overall flow of the picture and the shape, the feel, ect. What I don't like are the wings...well, how they connect to the dragon. I know they aren't completely correct, but I drew them that way because I thought they'd make for a better picture. One huge detail I dislike is the LACK of detail. I'm bad when it comes to adding that kind of detail, and it's gotten me to consider doing my next few pieces with little to no shading, just to concentrate on making the picture what it is through details and textures. And yeah, I can easily mush things together with the way I shade...but I'm trying to find a good balance with that. I think I shade fairly heavy, and I need to learn how to use contrast better. I just gotta keep working at it, tis all.
