Kuro Sumi Colors Are Sweet I Just got mine in a Month ago, a few to start out I just got A few dark and light blues and Greens to Try them out, Thick as elmers glue, go in with little to no effort granted if user know how to tattoo, these are not starter Inks by any means. they heal quicker and brighter then most of the inks i have. im probly going to get the full set as long as they stay in the same price range, i might just go exclusively with just kuro as i have with black for years, You can get single 1/2ers at Joker for 4 bucks worth trying
I absolutely love the wasabi green. I have used almost every color and as stated above...thick as hell goes in well if you know what yer doing.....the only unfortunate thing is the Maguro red (actually a brownish orange) has given red reaction in 2 clients of mine...so that got tossed out...besides that they have great unique hues and tones
We have had 4 customers in the past 2 months that have had severe reactions to the reds in the Kuro Sumi set. Two of the reactions were from the Maguro Red. Does anyone know how I can contact the company or find out about any similar cases regarding these reds. This has tarnished our businesses good reputation for these unfortunate customers that have been effected and it seems like there is nothing we can do...
I used Kuro Sumi colors and I like them.they are very thin but surprisingly bright and easy to work with.
Even despite I'm used to thicker inks I like this stuff! No joke
thick thin which is it
i have tried only 2 of their colors so far, the chi red, which is like a pastel red, almost a pink, and the oshan blue, which looks like a light lavender when you put it in the ink cup, but you can tell after it goes into the skin that its a lighter blue. The ink seems to me to be somewhat thin, but goes in well, and looks good. i believe i will try a few more of their colors, as i like the 2 i tried.
Sumi Colors are love, definitely worth a try!
As for thick or thin...neither, they are just right. Thin enough to pour out of the bottle but thick enough to leave a little nipple when you fill your cap.
As for any reactions, I don't think it's the pigment or the artist, I think that if your client has a reaction it's going to be the typical "Red" pigment reaction we're all familiar with, if your client has a reaction with the Sumi reds....they are going to have a reaction with any of the other brands of reds.
For the gentleman's shop who is catching a bad rap, keep your head up. There's really no way to know if your client will have a reaction to the reds until it happens. My wife's x-husband put a few on her during their run, the first two with red went great, a couple years later he put a big rose on her and she had a reaction....same pigment brand..same woman, she just developed and allergy by the time the third was done.
Well, basically kuro's get two thumbs up, but the MAGURO RED gets one male organ down.out of 4 clients,2 had so serve of a reaction, it required medical treatment. The reaction itself starts as swelling, within two days, it looks like ground beef mixed with skin. One particular case,it really worried me.Eventually after the skin pusses, it constantly oozes fluid, but has healed leaving holes in the skin. Not pretty. Although I dont use it anymore, I still keep it in case something happens that may require testing.I called my distributer but was told no complaints have been made.SO I MADE ONE.If anyone has similar reactions please email me. [email removed] I would love to hear about.
wow i wonder whats up with that one particular red? Weird none of the other colors do it. why just that one?!
the reaction isnt the brand alot of inks have fillers like plastic and oil base as far as red most red inks along with others have traces of Some of these substances include arsenic, cobalt, lead, nickel, and selenium but more commin with red
you should try the red on your self and see if it reacts,
as some one said before.
some people's skin don't like red.
something to do with mercury that was in some companies ink.
i read it ages ago.
just tat your self with the red and let us know
Kuro sumi colors are wack... all the customers i was the ink on has had allergic reactions to them. the browns, the yellows, reds, blues, oranges... because of this i have lost big money customers... i hate this ink... NO ONE SHOULD BUY THIS INK BRAND... KURO SUMI COLORS.
I have checked out the kuro sumi msds's and the magurio red contains iron oxide 101, yellow 74 and orange 16. All of these pigments are quite safe as far as reactions go, although the orange dissapears in a few years so colours with that in, and they have a few! will change color quite a lot over time. However they do list 2 proprietary (secret) resins in the magurio red formulation. Most of their colours only have the one resin and some none at all so this makes me suspect that the reactions that everyone is having to this red is in fact to one or both resins in conjunction. Their is no need to disperse pigments in any form of acrylic resin and many of these plastic based products are causing problems. One, if you have a latex allergy you may react to these resins and that could cause a pussy big hole in your tattoo! or two, over time the resin goes through a process called polymerisation, this is where the plastic in the resin goes hard over time due to uv exposure and causes itchy lumps and the like in the tattoo, can happen one month, 2 years or 20 years after the tattoo was finished. Bottom line stay away from plastic dispersed pigments.
I got a new tattoo with this ink about 3 weeks ago, no reds.It was a leaf with greens. The problem I'm having is that it looks and feels plastic, not at all like my other tattoo's. Anyone else experience this? My daughter and cousin got the same tattoo , same ink and theirs look and feel fine.
