Hey guys. I'm really intrested in learning how to draw intresting tattoo designs. Well i'm a half decent artist, but i really want to learn how to draw things like, tribal designs, celtic designs, and grey scale tattoo's. But i'm only 14 so i can't actually start tattoing. I was wondering if anyone knew any good sites out there for me to learn the drawing basics.
Learning to draw tattoo designs

Courtney Davis has some great Celtic books that have instructionals in them (patterns, how to formulate designs, etc) as well as a few others, as far as tribal goes, those designs vary from good to bad, and personal taste carries a lot of weight on that as well. When I design tribal, I draw it right on the person, going with the contours of the body, but it works better with large scale tribals and not necessarily an armband. Also when you're in school, approach your art teacher with some pics of tattoos that you like and ask for their guidance- a teachers wisdom will last a long time! Good Luck
Thanks man. I'll keep that in mind.
hey, even though i'm only 15, i still think i can draw tattoo's quite well, what i find is to draw one side and fold the page and duplicate it, this works quite well for me, but for dragons jus start with the basic snake dragon, try to mainly put ur focus on the wings, and tail of the dragon, and jus work ya way up to the lengendary buff, built, chinese dragons and then give skullz ago, i only recently started making tribal skulls and they look quite good, all you need is practice and practice, that approach worked for me quite well, so yea keep drawing and i hope the best of luck! =D
im only 13 and no a good site called www.myspace.com/tattoosoup
glad to help
Hey dudes, I'm only 12 and I want to be a tattoo artist. What you need to do is start off tracing, do some shading, get some step by step tutorials, shade or color them and your on your way to making your own designs.
Picture what sort of tattopo design you want and try to put it onto paper...guidelines don't always work for me >>>:)
