So, here I am in my home town working part-time in a shop. I have a feeling the guy I work for might not have my best interest in mind......He's the third 'boss' I've had in this business. I'm feel not learning, developing.....just hanging out, drawing up designs, making stencils, cleaning up, sterilizing etc..
I had an apprenticeship in Thailand, that was an amazing opportunity....One hard-ass Master and the another guy who was like a big brother. It's been three and a half years of apprenticeship, working at small shops and wondering when I'm going to get my "big break". I've got the freedom to travel, a little cash and I want to learn more. I do consider myself an artist, but not a tattooist. It's not my place, yet!
As a side note.... I see there are a couple of people in town who tattoo out of their houses.....this REALLY pisses me off. After all the travelling, money, time and positive affirmations....It's starting to get to me. I would never tattoo outside of a shop, I've done my blood-borne pathogens and understand the risk. There's a major part of me that knows I'm doing it the 'right way' and I feel proud of my personal standards.
SO, I guess I'm just looking for allys, comrades and friends. It would be great too if someone had a job offer. It's worth a try! And so am I!
Learning to tattoo......

you would be more likely to get a reply if you had some of your work online so that viewers could get an idea of what your capable of. Just a tip.

Thanks for the tip! That's a great idea.
I thought about writing up a 'tattoo' resume also....
any more ideas?
i understand what your saying but to be pissed off that people are tattooing out of the home is dumb you don't really think that all great tattoo artists acctually had an aprentiship do you? cause if you do your wrong unfortunatlly we can not all be in your position we cant all get schooled in thiland it just does not work like that. not to glorify it but i stay in the hood it is what it is and i accept that, the tat shops round here look at a dark skined homie and think there is no way i'm gonna give this kid the time of day and i can fucking draw.... good!!!!! so this is not a response bashing your opinion i would fight to the death for it even if i do not agree with it but just be a lil more open minded although i do understand about keeping you machines sterilized it is a must unfortunatlly we have to start were we start i wish you the best of health and keep good art flowing thanks for you time
