License or not?

Not trying to hyjack another's post, but what entails a license? Are shops inspected? Do the inspectors just :drop in?" I went to one shop and while I found it very "old school" in outwardly apperance (it's a old building, etc...) I was wondering if the "hygene"regulations, so to speak, is still the same as a lot of he newer constructed shops? Some shops in new locations are very "stylish" and almost have a hair salon look to them? The shop I'm going to for work is....lol.....old school, but at the same time they say they will "throw you out on your ass" if you come in with food, etc... Just curious.
Don't get caught up in the "boutique" thing dear.....I've seen some very fancy studios putting out SHIT and some "old school shops that pay more attention to tattooing than to stainless steel counters and custom furniture. I am not sayin all nice shops put out shit or vice versa ya just gotta take it on a case by case basis. Every state and locale has their own regs as far as tattooing goes... the best way to find out is to call the health board thatvregulates the shop in question and ask what the policies are....TAz
oh, believe me, I'm not swayed by fancy decor in the slightest. Just a clean shop that goes by the rules when it come to being sterile. I, actually, prefer the old school feel.
Atta girl!
