I just don't understand why movie stars feel that they have to dabble into other mainstreams to make a name for themselves. Very VERY few are successful at it and an overwhelming amount fail miserably.... We all remember what happened when Eddie Murphy tried to make a record ... "Party all the time!".... And now I hear David Hasselhoff's (sp?) ex wife is putting out a new album "inspired" by her overcoming the difficulties of her divorce.... I would have personally put out a record celebrating him not singing about the Berlin Wall anymore! .... Why do I sense a new "reality" TV show spawning from this?

Since this is apparently true, I'm curious as to what kind of 'tattoo artist' is gonna work for her (be advised she's a whooping 20 years old). Now come on people...lets be realistic...she is gonna have artists knocking down her door for the chance to work at her STUDIO!!....Its sad but its true...she will probably have no difficulty in hiring decent tattoo artists who think that #1...they will make a name for themselves...and #2...who think they will make a lot of money (possibly true) I can almost guarantee that there will be at least one MTV show about this ...if not a whole series The world she is a changin boys and girls!

Thanks, Sir J. I've looked at the sites, and i still think and hope that the true-blue tattoo artists (who don't use "guns") have nothing to fear. Aren't most businesses founded for profit? Maybe not "purely," but at least somewhat? Can we hope that she'll have the sense to hire artists and managers who know a thing or three? In any case, won't the quality of her product and service be what determines her survival? Might it not be a good thing that someone with a fat wad of money - albeit a silly girl - is expanding the industry?

Yes, many buisnesses are founded on the bases of profit and growth. BUT the tattoo industry is different in the respect that if you ask an artist why they are doing what they are doing and hopefully they will tell you it is the art first and then everything else is secondary. And yes, there are "artists" that are purely in it for the money.... What can you do? Yes, the quality of her product and service will determine her success and her failure. That is a given. BUT on the other hand, although she obviously has money to spare, it is hardly the tattoo industry that she will be "helping" to expand. Remember, that she wants, "to open a new boutique-style parlor to cater for all her Hollywood pals." And she “wants to create a complete brand which will move into clothes and merchandising." That is hardly what the tattoo industry is about.

I've quit professional prophecy for about a year now, so what follows is strictly guesswork. I foresee that in LL's business, she'll sell four hundred t-shirts for every half a tattoo. Wristbands and mousepads will be the hot commodities. "Brand" stuff and "merchandise" will fly off the shelves, and a couple young bloods will pop in for their designer (ha-ha, accidental irony!) tattoos. Before you can say "funny you don't look jewish", the tattoo store with a Lindsay component will be a Lindsay store where you can get a tattoo on the days the artist comes to work. So, LA crowd, get your doodads now - they'll be collector's items in no time!
