hi im looking to get my toung split and want to know if any one knows and shops in the Toronto/Hamilton area that wouls do it and what are the prices like

you guys are being a little bit harsh on him, sure i wouldn't split my tounge, but if wants to thats his thing? i dunno dude, google some shops in T-Dot i'm sure you'll find someone to do it, personally if i was going to split my tounge i wouldn't get it cut i would get it pierced and work with fishing twine to slowly cut it, but thats just me!

Tattoos are one thing, but permanently modifying a part of your body such as your tongue in a way that doesn't let it function the same is just stupid. It's no reversible I'm all for body modifications, but I don't get the whole tongue splitting and implantation stuff (at least implantation is reversible though). What's next? People are going to want to cut pieces of their fingers off so they can have it be a shape at the end or something stupid like that. Body modification is something that has been done since ancient times in the form of tattoos, piercings, stretching piercings, etc; but I've yet to see a bushman running around with a split tongue. Also, before someone tries to defend this by bringing up that tribe that mutilates their daughters by female circumcision, I just have to say that it is just that: mutilation.

i remember a time when i first had my tongue pierced about 7 yrs ago people used to recoil in horror when they saw it.. now everyone has one..and its a common site wherever u go! i also remember what it was like learning to talk and eat properly with it, never mind the actual pain of getting it done in the first place! i would most certainly NEVER get it done again, or anything other than possibly getting it tattoo.. splitting the tongue is just bloody gross in my opinion, and if u are thinking of getting it done i would advise u think about it for a very long time, and i would also hope u are married as getting someone to kiss you with that mouth would be very hard i would imagin!

actually, tongue splitting doesnt affect your tongues function at all. i had my tongue split some time ago after i got bored with my tongue piercing. its actually a BETTER option than a tongue piercing because it doesnt affect your normal speech or harm your teeth. as for being abused as a child, thats an incredibly closed-minded and intolerant thought process, and as a person with a tongue split i take a lot of offense to this statement. this person has whatever right to do what he wants with his body. thats what the body modification industry (which INCLUDES TATTOOS mind you) is based on: the ability/choice to alter your physical form to express something about yourself. if you DONT want a tongue split, or DONT approve of it, then thats YOUR choice. but you certaily dont need to resort to verbal abuse or insults in order to discourage someone from doing something you dont agree with. a lot of people dont approve of piercings or *gasp* tattoos, but we certainly dont tolerate their closed-mindedness when they say something that offends us. correct? as for where to find someone to do that sort of thing, they are right, www.bmezine.com would be the place to find something of that nature, as this is TATTOOnow.com and this site has nothing to do with heavy/surgical mod culture.

Patrick, I agree 110%. I also just couldn't believe the tone of some of these posters that are posting on a tattoo forum. Tattoos were also once thought to be only for weirdos and etc but come on that was along time ago.How could anyone with any sense of open mindedness insult someone for asking a simple question about a body mod? I just don't get it.

yeah, i realize you are entitled to your opinions. i have many opinions myself. but i certainly dont go espousing them, especially the directly insulting ones, on a public forum where, and im sure gabe and many others can back me up on this, mututal respect is pretty key. and im pretty sure telling someone they were abused as a child or that they were a high school loser is hardly respectful.
