I got 2 tattoos and they look great except for one thing, one of them is losing its black outline...why? Is it possible the needle was not set to go deep enough or is scream ink not good ink, or is my body just plain out refusing to keep it? THe tattoo is located on the outside and inside of my left calf. Thanks...
Losing my outline...HELP!

Was the tatoo done in a professional licensed studio by a licensed artist?
Welcome to the home tattoo parlor now featuring PRO INK FROM SCREAM!!!! For now and ONLY NOW you can purchase a whole set to scar and mark up your friends with shitty colors that don't stick with this wonderful ebay purchase!!!! Not talented? Just starting to scratch? Learn a valuale lesson with this shitty ink... cough* Great ink....
jesus christ... go to a tattoo parlor....
Any thing the reads "Emerald City Green" or "Grey Hair" should be a sign!
Scream ink is JUNK!!!
Ok, like I said one of two of my tattoos is having no problem at all, just the one, yes it was done professionally so real tattoo artists reply only please...my brother has several tat's done with Scream brand and some are a couple years old and look great! So how is it possible to lose an outline in all seriousness?
Well I think I'm a real tattoo artist...Been tattooing for 35+ years, licensed in 7 states ...yeah I think I am REAL artist...and yes Scream ink SUCKS!!!
As for why you are losing your linework...too many variables to give you an answer without seeing the tattoo....You should be going to the artist who did your tattoo and ask him why.
Sorry Taz, wasn't referring to you directly, asking a serious ques. and others wan't to smart-ass but no help. Ok, I did ask and he said that that was the whole reason to come back in 2 weeks so he could see if any touch ups need to be made and that the missing parts of my outline would be some of the touching up to do, he said my skin was either different thickness in areas or that different parts of my skin may just be resistant, but that it was no problem to hit it up again on the retouch.
There ya go!!...Good luck and how bout sending a pic?...T
I'm a smart ass? You're the fucking idiot looking around in a forum for answers that you can ask your "professional" tattooist. Meanwhile you assuming that I am not a professional is just plain out amusing. You don't know me bitchboy... Besides... I assume that you're "professional artist" is a fucking moron. Considering that I wouldn't touch scream ink you you paid me. By chance did he use puma machines? Or maybe even a tooth brush and a bic pen?
As for me I use professional equipment with medical grade steralization and have worked in a few shops in the milwaukee area... Meanwhile if you don't want your tattoo to 'fall out' take better care of it, go to real shops, and go ask someone local what the fuck is wrong.. If it weren't for the tattoo artists on this forum that are real, and own and work in shops... I wouldn't waste my fucking time with people like you. It's not worth it unless you are in my fucking shop... otherwise go back to the asshole who tattooed you.. or maybe get someone's opinion in person...
THINK....

*ps if your artist has ever had any formal apprentice time he/she would know not to use scream ink... don't kid me... it's not worh the argument... for you or me...
23enigma<---- You are an unbelievably rude individual, you are a wanna be top dog tatter that swarms around tat forums looking for prey to verbally assault, whether you have 5 years or 50 tattooing your attitude will never allow you to go any further than you have! If you are not in mind to be polite and helpful you have no business replying in this post. Extreme profanity boasts minute intellect. Just so you know on the day I posted my initail reply my artist went on his vacation, but since you are able to mind read as I am sure, you were already aware of that. Now please DROP DEAD!
---TAZ--- The pic isn't real clear but where the outline is thin is where some had came off.
Ahhh the divine are no less paradoxial than the vicious. Fist things first you need to have a discussion with your artist and tell him to use some ink that's worth using. I was being an asshole simply because this forum seems to have a problem with scratchers and people that they fuck up constantly going through it. Scream ink is garbage and I honestly can't imagine anyone that is a professional using it. Maybe it was the cheaper way out or something, but that just makes it not worth the while. There have been many of times that the prices for the equipment and materials haven't met my budget but I wanted to maintain quality. I'm not in this business for the money. I mean it pays the bills and all but there are a ton of ups and downs. I would have stayed a mason if I was that concerned with money.
Make your artist get some better ink. I can take shit ink and make a nice looking tattoo but the long term results are horrible. In this business you need to factor in that if someone isn't happy with your work it makes it easier to gain a bad rep. As far as me blazing out shitty comments and such... Damn right... Any ink that you can buy off of ebay is garbage... I'd be curious as to who your artist is and what studio he works in.

As far as my attitude keeping me from getting any further than I am.... HAhah I have a ton of clients and a licesnsed home studio. Soon to have a shop in the east side of milwaukee... So owning two shops really isn't too bad... I'm happy... I have three nice cars, a bike, a boat and a set of four wheelers... I have a pretty nice home that I own... Not to be materialistic... But what the hell else do I want?
meanwhile I'm only in my mid twenties...
Now, was all that really necessary? Remember, you can buy ANYTHING on Ebay. I can buy a set of some of the finest acrylic paints on the market on Ebay.. Where you CAN buy the ink doesn't matter.
They obviously came here with a legit. question. If they chose to seek help from you, you, as an artist, should be honored. Insult flinging at the choice of ink, which probably wasn't their choice, should be unheard of. I knew if I flung insults at one of the people comissioning me for a painting, just for asking me to use a certain brand of paint, I'd lose clients, and lose them quickly. If I have problems with that particular brand of paints, or in your case, ink, I would tell them reasonably.
On the flip side, the other person should've been reasonable too. Insults should be taken with grace, because nothing puts you lower in someone's eyes than failing to be dignified. Remember that old childhood saying, sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? It applies here.
Now, I'm not trying to be board mediator, or anything.. I just like reading the forum, and learning things from it. It's hard to do when I have to sort through stuff like this on an almost daily basis. Maybe if we could all just be a little friendlier to each other, this would morph into something that say, discusses which inks are best, et cetera..
Thank you Destined! In sorting through all the crap, I still did not see where anyone made a particular ink brand widely liked and used. And as I was searching the net I see that almost all tat suppliers offer scream for sale as well. I seriously doubt my artist shops on Ebay for supplies but if he does good for him, I'm all for Ebay!!! I also googled scream brand ink and no bad reviews came up so I think each artist is different and they have thier own individual likes and dislikes as to thier products of use.
No man...Scream is NOT sold by most suppliers in fact the suppliers that professionals go through simply DO NOT carry it...Scream ink is substandard...PERIOD!!! Now I am not trying to be an asshole....butb the stuff IS junk.....I have been tattooing for 35 years and have tried them all and I know many many artists and NONE of them will use it...it just won't stay...sorry.
Now 23...Scream ink IS NO CHEAPER than the stuff we use!...I think People buy it because of the bright packaging and advertising hype....But yes I do agree that it sucks.
Destined...thanks for the post...you always seem reasonable!...TAz
Taz<---- Ok I think we have established that you don't care MUCH AT ALL for Scream brand ink...what do you suggest I look for in the way of brands? I mean I don't want to walk into a shop and start asking alot of questions when there are artists like 23enigma out there, I could get tore down verbally or even possibly thrown out of a shop...LOL By the way, waddaya think of my ink? ÇöÇ
That's a good question.. as an informed customer what should be looked for? What Inks are crappy and to watch out for?
Scream - Not good got it that's been covered.
I've seen several brands of ink and also....
Starbright???
Prizm???
Intenze???
Millinium???
Irezumi???
MOM???
Prolly more I've never heard of..
Any of them any good? Which do you think lasts longest? Best shelf life? Which costs the mosts?(maybe there's a reason)
Maybe we can yet make this a productive post... maybe a suggestion from an unhappy customer and the artist might try different ink... don't know...
Orange Tang - would've said cheap to me
Well, I was getting tattooed in a pro shop, not doing the application myself...didn't read the bottles, I really didn't care what the names of the colors were, and when all was said and done and I realized some ink had come off of the outline a few days later...that was when I asked all the questions.
Whats up with the making fun of ink names....one of the most widely used pigments around has names like ..doo doo brown, snot green monthly red...come on!
huh huh...huh huh huh... Hey Beavis....It says black hole.... huh huh huh....
..i'm using scream ink without problems...i use some starbirght, some uique and some other brand too..
Maury
Thanks Maury---->I appreciate your post!
Enigma23<-----Ç¿Ç----->Taz
Exactly which ink would you suggest I ask about when I go for another tat? Will the artists even give me an answer or is their the possibility that I will get kicked out of their shop???

Maury
Ol Spaidit is a fuckin scratcher posing as a tattoo client to get info...Maury ya need to watch out for those fuckers!! But thanks for the heads up!!!
Good call taz...
That's what i figured from the beggining...
...if he likes tattoo world i think is not a problem to suggest him how he can start to tattoo: the right and only way is search a good tattoist as teacher ..( or better more tattoists) ...try by yourself is wrong!!!... if is your destine maybe with time ,under a good guide and practice you will become a good artist ....
Maury
Bad call guys, not me, but nice try to thrash on me again...anyways, I am going in to a different tattoo shop next weekend and I want to know how to approach the artists in reguards to asking about ink their are going to use and I want to be able to leave with some dignity and knowlege of the brands that are going to stay in my skin...Taz, you need to not jump to conclusions so quickly, I notice alot of you guys do that on here, its ok to vent but try not to be so personal...
yeah sure we'll act like we believe ya!!
Spaidit,
What was the name of the shop and the name of the artist who did your work? May I ask where it is located? What's the name of the shop you are going to next weekend? Have you already talked to the artist via phone? Where is that shop located?
If you want to be taken seriously here's your chance, Man.
Went to trendkills in palatka florida, his name need not mentioned because he did good, (also I have fears you guys would slam his name on here and ruin his rep!) fixed my tat and things are fine, I am going over to E. Univ. to Xtreme illisions and give them a try, haven't been there before so I don't know any names yet, but I need to check them out anyways...research twice, ink once...oh, and let me know if ya need any phone numbers as well...Ç¿Ç
Is Trendkills the original shop you first went too? Can you send me the # phone numbers?
And to think..............I've been missing out on this! It's too far gone to jump in now...

Just be patient! I will have a better story to tell you in a minute when I get a phone call back......
I read through everyones thoughts on Scream Ink and I wanted to point out that my bf uses some colors by Scream and we refuse to use others by them. There Reds all got recalled for allergic reactions/drastic fading so we are no longer that fond of them anymore. We are making the switch over to better brands like millenium and mom. But be forwarned that the red was recalled so I am thinking there are more unseen problems with the scream ink.
your bf is a scratcher?
oh, is Eternal Ink good at all? just kidding
Thanks for the heads up PYNK!!!
see this is exactly how i ended up callin area51 ignorant.
Mom's red ink caused a horrable allergic reaction on me, however the black took wonderfully to my skin. Is it just the color red in general?
And has anyone ever delt with psoriasis and tattoos? If so any advice as to good inks and care would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
~Xie
i know that the starbright red had caused alot of reations in our shop. so it was banned. we switched to Eternal. I also use Intenze, we have MOM's in the shop. No reactions to any of these yet. But when i do hear about reactions its ALWAYS red ink. i dont know why.
Antitheus...when faced with tattooing a client with Psoriasis...I recommend that the client get a product called "Scalpicin"...sold at wal mart ...k mart...all over usually in the dandruff shampoo isle...it is a waterbased odorless compound with a superior hyrocortisone ...since it is water thin it absorbs into the skin rapidly...I suggest that they use the scalpicin for a least 3 days before tattooing...oh yeah make sure it is the Maximum strength scalpicin with hydrocortisone...works great and great on hard heals too as a last resort!...TAz
WOW the two studio's you mentioned are shit studio's...I kelly Started that studio in Gainsville ...X_tream Illusions....there towel heads that danced in front ov that studio when the plains hit the towers in N.Y.....as for shit head in palatka.....Dip Shit...and i told them I'd run him out of bussiness but opened X-tream with Zeno, Gab,and some other chump........Small World.......Go to daytona Bch....Tropical........Look around...Repuation Matters
Oyea...I've used Star Bright for many years and not any problems not even with red...just started usin Intenz....It's differnt.....Not really sure weather i like it any better...Star Bright is Bright blowen ink if you use it right.........I posted Thinkin Ink here ...This answered my Question.......Thanks to all
i agree with that, nick baxter uses Starbright but switched over to eternal i believe, (which i think is the best out there right now)
I started out on Starbright and Kuro, and switched to Intenze. I dig inteze but its super thick. Too thick, you have to bring your shit out when you need it or it cakes up to a rock.
anything is good if you know how use it. its all preference and if you get good results with starbright then keep using it. But its banned in my Shop. And ive seen alot of posts about Starbright giving bad reations. And it being withdrawn from suppliers. Check out Nick Baxters forum. There was alot of talk about it
Don't use it! Its cheap, made in chine, the pigment of the red is red # 8 which is banned by the FDA in all cosmetic and drugs. I have scars, swelling, blistering, bleeding pussing from the ink. DO NOT USE IT!!! I have pics to prove! Stay away from it! and if you have used the red ink, ferrari red, please email me asap! its important! [email removed]
Thanks for the adviceTaz. I'll check it out. Right now I'm having an outbreak from hell. I'll be sure to try it out.
Oh my god,
ive just taken delivery of a full set of scream inks. i was worried about the weird disclaimer sticker on the bottles. however now i am extreamly worried.
Should the inks have a list of ingredients on them and any advice for choosing products?
(obviously ebay is best avoided)
to me this is a good example of the uninformed client. when you went to his house, did you make sure to get all the information correct, or was he busy on ebay and cooking his tubes in the oven? because the fact is that most professionals, and professional supplies will have nothing to do with scream brand. which is where i get the idea, that its pushed off onto scratchers who dont know anything about there ink. so now im gonna go out on a limb and say that scream ink BLOWS.

Now this is bullshit. Ive guest spotted at trendkills and they don't use scream ink. And as far as slamming his rep, you couldn't cause he would have already done it. K? thanks.
