Hello,
so i got a tattoo yesterday and there dosn't seem to be anything unusal yet. However, i went to moisturize it today and used Lubriderm seriously sensitive lotion and was brought to tears by the amount of stinging the lotion caused. One of the ingredients on the back contains alcohol which i'm pretty sure is what caused the stinging. I'm going to try and find something else without alcohol, but was wondering if this application might have caused damage to my tattoo?
Lotion issues

It may have dried it out, but I dont think it would have done major damage, I dont know for certain though... Ive always used Aquaphor for the first few days and then switched to a lotion. I usually use Curel fragrence-free. Id advise trying that.
I used Aquaphor and Lubriderm for quite some time and while I wasn't having any stinging from it, I came to believe that the Lubriderm was responsible for a lot of little bumps on the tattooed area. I then switched to Aquaphor and Curel (fragrence free) lotion (just like Trin said). I haven't had any bumps or issues whatsoever. So, Aquaphor and Curel (fragrence free) is what I would also recommend.
i've always been told to use curel frangrance free lotion. the one in the blue bottle with the green on it. i think alot of lotions sting, but stop using lubriderm. try curel. its nice ;)
Lotions tend to sting if you use them on the first three days of your healing tattoo, even when its fragrance-free and mild. I tend to use ointment (Tattoo Goo) for the first 3-4 days (which i find stays on a lot longer, and keeps the tattoo protected), and then switch to a plain lotion after that.
