lotion on tattoo?

hi, I just got a tattoo a week ago. they put this sticky film over it, which prevented me from getting any kind of scab... the film is off now, and i'm just wondering whether it's okay to put lotion on my tattoo... it's still raised, and a little sore thanks!

Always check back with the artist that did the job if you have any questions. Asking strangers is a bad idea. Most tattoo aftercare varies from one artist to another, so it's always the right thing to check back with the artist that did yours so that you won't run into any problems later on.

Your artist should have told you exactly how to care for your tattoo and given you a written set of instructions as well. Krystof was right on the money...ask the person who did your tattoo!
