Soory man I value my machines more than I value my TAZETTES!... (shhhh! don't let em hear me say that!!They are scary when they've had too many Tazblasters!)Even the ones that ain't worth a crap ( machines NOT Tazettes!)..I consider em all my babies and couldn't force myself to let go of any of the little suckers!! Look around you'll find some me boyo!!...T
thats exactly what i'm tryin to do built up an arsenal like you T. I want to start a collection..I'm gonna be like the punisher of the tattoo world...
Cool beans my young friend...Have FUN doin it too!!!..T
well i hate to admit it but sometimes you can get good irons off e-bay. i just bought a pulse septa advertised as a dragon custom what ever that is. got it for $117. i could tell by photos what it was. you just have to keep looking. most of the time they get a fortune for anything good but, sometimes you'll get lucky.
I have 2 many damn machines, I have some to part with. But you MUST be a pro, and be able to prove it. Will only send to a shop. Even though workin in a shop dont make you a pro. But atleast its a start. Hit me up at [email removed]. I have a couple of machines for about 125.00 ea, And one brass carved jonsey with 1936 doorbell wire, cotton wrapped coils for 400.00 its a one off, bad fuckin shader!!...
sorry dude i dont work in a shop but i am licensed and i have a studio setup in my garage. board of health approved, autoclave, whole nine yards. i'm gonna be relocating in about a year so thats one reason why I havent opened a shop yet, another is i'm 26 and we got a shitload of competition around here and in all seriousness I know my limits. I guess I dont want to waste time and money opening a shop in a shitty location ya know? But believe me I am extremely professional and overly cautious when it comes to health risks. And your pertaining to the fact that you will only sell to a shop, your logic is understood my friend.
OK Legacy...I'm gonna yell atcha again...If you are licensed and health board approved then You DO work in a shop...don't sell yourself short..just cause the shop is attached to your house doesn't make it any less of a shop!!...My family doctor has his office attached to his home in what was at some time ages ago a garage!...and the old fart still makes house calls at 3 in the morning...I would not think of goin anywhere else!! Soooo cut the crappola son and call it what it is...A SHOP!!! I have been talkin to you for a while now and if I had any machines to sell I would sell them to you!! DAMMITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAz

Taz, sent you an email go check it out. Dan
not to start shit legacy but ive been tattooing in Ct. since 1991 in board of health approved shops thru out the state but know nothing of any license you state that you have. artists in ct. dont pay fees to be licensed and we dont get a license to hang on our walls like barbers and hairdressers. unless your calling a tax id # a license.which basically a license to collect and pay sales tax as a business does. as for board of health approved in ct each towns b.o.h. approachs the inspections ina complete different manor. in some towns the boh actually comes in and does a yearly inspection. other towns just require the old state statute physicians letter of approval. im not one for the state or government to get involved with our business but it would be nice if all of the towns in the state followed the same boh requirements and procedures and some sort of licensing probably would be a decent idea. only problem once the powers that be get involved they end up twisting most requirements so out of proportion that they seem impossible to follow. yet i can watch most dental assitants and nurses' cross contaminate the world around them. in a post a few days ago you asked about a ct. convention. well ct had 2 of them around 1999 and 2000 mike fittz from wizards tattoo organized them. they were small but okay. a year or so ago flatts from grotton tried to organize one but didnt get enough feedback and dropped the idea. during the first convention about 10 of the larger and older shops in ct. were meeting with the hartford health dept. to set up a boh program for tattooing that would be run state wide. due to shortage of funds the program was only established in the city of hartford. the program seemed decent but like i stated earlier on you never know what strange twist the government will put on a good safe idea. also legacy the shop i work in will need help in mid june. i dont know you or what your work looks like but you can mail me thru the link above or thru my site on tattoonow. its a busy shop with a good amount of walk in traffic. ive noticed your in fairfield from earlier posts and im about 45 minutes from you but what isnt 45 minutes from you in ct besides the ny border.
Yeah Crockett I am pretty sure the license he has is a local thing since ya don't really have the state thing goin yet but he is a good dude and I think he would be dedicated...I know he goes nuts on the sanitary thing...hes a fuckin hypochondriac and germs scare the fuck out of him ...ain't that right legacy??...LMAO!!!
Taz, did ya get the pics? Dan
i wasnt jumping on his shit taz just wanted to let it be known where the whole licensing thing stands in this area. like i mentioned in the end id like to meet him and see some of his work as im going to nbeed an artist in a few months. ive been meaning to write him eventually as ive been keeping up with his posts and think being in a shop environment would help his career. also legacy i forgot to mention in the above post about conventions in ct. there are so many great conventions surronding ct . you can go to boston,pa,nyc, new jersey,dc and attend some allready estabalished great conventions. conventions are like shops now a days way to many just taking the mysticsm out of tattooing and watering the hell out of something thats allready been watered down. it was much more enjoyable when it wasnt "fashionable" to get tattooed but more something you did for yourself and not to fit in with the mainstream.
Crockett...Oh I know man!...No worries!! Dan ...yes I got em...just have not had a chance to look at em yet...I will be in touch!!!
hey sorry guys for the delay .. Over the course of the time I've been tattooing I got into the habit of saying I'm licensed because I hear it so damn much. I had to have a physician basically look at my setup and make sure I was following proper guidelines and he signed me off. honestly I was a little dissappointed at first because he really looked like he didnt wanna be there and also like he didnt give a crap about my setup. I am unaware of the rest of the state but this is what I had to go along with in order to make it legal to tattoo. my mother also runs a licensed family day care out of the other portion of our house so I had to have the health people come look at my setup as well. I am not sure if that is required for everyone or just for me because of the day care situation. It was actually a pain in the ass but luckily i have a lawyer in my family who found out what i had to go through to make me legit. Taz, as always bro thanks for the kind words. Dont worry I aint gettin all mushy on ya. I just appreciate it thats all. And I do have a habit of sellin myself short I guess that comes from always hearing that I am inferior because of my tactics. But when i think about it that is my driving force. Dan I am pretty much still working with what I started off with 3 years ago. I have 3 machines all cast iron frames that i have basically swapped the hell out of the parts to tweek em to my liking. I will definately be emailing you to check out whatcha got and I will also post some pics of my setup to further assure you that I try my hardest to do this the right way. That has been my main goal since I first decided to make this my career. I too have seen the result of people who dont take this art form seriously and I have had to cover up or re-do a lot of work from local guys that don't care too much for the art or the skin of their clients. Believe me when I say I am dedicated to this...
Legacy, No need to prove yourself to me anymore then you already have. I dont need any pictures etc..... I would however like to see pictures of the machines you are currently running. You say they are crappy? Any email me pics of the machines you have now, and maybe we can do some kind of partial trade. Send pics to [email removed] Your Friend In Ink Dan
