mantra backround

After alot of thinking i finnally decided that my first tattoo would be the om mani mantra wrapped around my arm like a spiral. I want it to be simple because it will be my first tattoo and its not for looks its all about meaning. I am considering putting a simple backround to it but i dont even know where to start, does anyone have any good ideas or maybe one yourself. thanks - tom
