YES!!!!
Go see a competent custom artist an dlet him/her design you a one off tattoo that will be yours alone!!!.....taZ
My advice would be do NOT do this idea. I thought I had my soulmate. I've known her for 20+ years only to find out the other day that mabye she never has loved me "like that". Oh. well. Married for 10 years.
Don't want to sound cynical, but I do want to remind you that, if for example, you guys don't make it together forever and ever and ever after all, that permanent reminder of a love you once thought was perfect could be killer painful. For a really, really fucking long time (tats are permanent...) But, thankfully, as TAz always says, "WE DO COVER UPS"!
Luckily for me, My tat is about my daughters, and they will ALWAYS be my daughters. People change. But that won't. I was smart enough to know that.
I sincerely wish you guys the best of luck forever, and I hope you guys are that couple everyone is jealous of forever, but in case you aren't, I wouldn't do it.
Somewhat cynically, but lovingly, Cactus.
My wife and I had been married for twenty five years before she got a tattoo. We worked out the design together. It’s a small 2 inch crescent moon with a rose laying across it which she had done on her ankle. The next year I got a 8 inch high dragon for a cover up of an older tat. I had it holding a rose to tie in with my wife's. We are still married now and have 32 years.
I guess my point is that I agree some what with Catus_Al.
Personally I would get something that ties the two together but not identical.
Funniest Tattoos Ive ever seen were on a guys two Arms in Springfiels Mass. Both were covered in womens names. All but 1 had a line across. Dam if a couple werent duplicates! I asked...why cross out? Eventually he may find another Elisa or such.lol Might have even suggested he only date gals with the same name. My point is. Fathers, Daughters,Kids, etc. dont change. Spouses are not a good Idea......and Dates the worst!
I always thought it would be cool for a couple to get Keys tattooed...on the long part of the key would be your partners name, and then you always have a key to each others heart!
yes, me and my boyfriend are actually looking into the same thing . we want matching tattoos but not identical or with each othes names. I have one tattoo with my daughters names but tht of course won't change, so if any one has any good ideas i would greatly appreciate it too.

if you're not up for the committment of marriage why the hell would you get matching tattoos which will last a lifetime, like it or not? that seems really, really shortsighted.
Did you ever find a matching tattoo, Iam also looking for the same thing. Its very hard to find one for a male and female to both have as the same and to look good on both. All of the tattoos I have gotten are so girly and his our all manly so what is there to do together? What could make us happy together. It is permanent, so how do you decide?
yea i see what you mean....me and my husband wanted matching tattoos but believe a lil to much in getting ginxed so we came up with this...we thought about two word phrases that went good together and he would get one word and me the other so we decided to get True Love in french lettering which is Vrai Amour and we decided to get them on our left wrist since we wear our wedding bands on our left hand so his wrist says Vrai (true) and my left wrist says Amour (love) so they arent exactly the same but go together and shit if we get divorced im stuck with love on my wrist big deal better than a name hope that helps
I know a couple that both have a really cool dragon on their forearms and when they hold hands it forms a heart. But you would never know it if you didn't see them together. Maybe you could try something like that. Like one has a half and the other has the missing pice...I think it's a symbol of love.
My grandpa got a woman's name tattooed on his bicep, coincidently he ended up dating 3 women with the same first name! Well needless to say the woman he is married to now, her name is nowhere close. lol so he's looking for a cover up. Also my husband got my maiden name in japanese on his ribs when we first got together. He chose a foreign language so if god forbid we don't last, he can lie to his next girl, and say it says " love" or something!!
hahaha...one of you get a penis and the other get a vagina...sort of like a lock and key theme only more awesome. all kidding aside, i just got my wifes initials on the inside of my wrist and i dont regret a thing about it. to me personally its more than a symbol to signify my love for her. if heaven forbid we dont end up being together forever it will still serve as a reminder of a time when we were happy. i sort of look at tattoos in general as "chapters" in my life. I will never get a tattoo covered because i'd like to be reminded of that particular time in my life. i know some of you will call me a dumbass for thinking like that but thats why we all have different tattoos isn't it? different styles, experiences, and times in our lives affect what we get. its what makes us individuals.
My husband and I wanted matching tattoos but it's so hard to find something we both like. So we each got half of a star. When we stand together, it's a whole star. Kind of a symbol of how we complete each other. Sappy, I know, but they look good! And if for some reason we separate, you can always just get the star completed on your own.
me and my boy are going to draw a heart on each others wrist, his on my right and mine on his left, and get them tattooed on :)
I guess you could go for a cupid duo, in mirror.... as in the two of you could get one cupid each, as mirror images of each other. You could just search this image on google. If you want to see other designs, you can check out these websites:

lol.. a half a star? Are these people serious!? Me and my girlfriend are both working hard at our collections and have talked about getting matching tattoos. I think the only way to do it, is for each person to get a unique image with the same subject matter. I can't speak for any artist, but it sounds boring to do the same exact tattoo twice in the same day. Me and my girlfriend were thinking of getting big satanic goat heads. Because 1, it's funny. It also lends itself easily to interpretation by the artist. Obviously letting an artist take whatever approach to your tattoo is a must. My advice, just tell a quality artist that you and your significant other want tattoos that symboloize your connection with each other. Let the artist be an artist. Always.
its called a bathory pentagram jackass u shouldnt get a tattoo if u dont know what it is
Ha. I don't want a bathory pentagram. But thanks for the name calling. I said satanic goat head, because I want something pretty different from the traditional image. I do know what a bathory pentagram is. And if that is what I wanted I would have said that. Thanks for being the satanic symbolism police though.
My ex and I got matching-ish tattoos. He has the head of Frankenstein on his shin and I have the bride of Frankenstein holding Frank's severed head on my ribcage. We always joked that if we broke up it would still work and it does. I wouldn't get anything like the same heart or whatever, but get something you guys like that's the same. My ex and I both loved old horror movies so it will always work. I used to work with a guy who was a big christian and he and his wife both got crosses. I personally think it's kind of hokey to get the same thing in the same place, but that's me.
And remember...love doesn't always last forever, so make sure it will work if you split.
completely gay.
get something that even if you guys separate it still means something to you like your fav animals when you put them together they kiss or a sentence but still mean something to you.
me and my boyfriend are getting married soon. plan on getting matching tattoos of a heart with chains rapped around it with a keyhole and key dangling from the chain. might get a flame on the top too. undecided on that. but we agree on the look.
