"Mixing" themes?

Hey, I'm curious- do many of you have different "themes" in tattoo's that you have? I'm mostly German/Nordic as well as somewhat Native American, and i'd like to get some tattoo's that kind of show off both, BUT, (and yes, I overanalyze the hell out of everything) I kind of feel like maybe I should just pick one and go with it? I know for most people this wouldn't be a big deal at all, but like I said, I overanalyze small things and constantly feel like I have to focus on one or i'll be "neglecting the other" =P.
You are not crazy. I have asked the same question to myself. I 've come to the conclusion that if the seperate tattoos' artwork/style is similarly stylized, it can work. That's my 2 cents~ Tima
Alright, thats kinda what I thought. Any other input?

Holy cow Dave, Ya just got your first and you are ready for more? You must have got over your fears!!! LOL Go for it. Mix it up! Katwoman
DAVE...look man..you are going about this in an absolutely CORRECT manner...I applaud you for "overanalyzing" as you put it. We see so many people who DO NOT put enough thought into their tattoos...some don't think at all and just point to something on the wall or get something some idiot on TV has just because they are famous... No my friend you are on the right track...take as much time as your brain tells you to take...you will know when its time for the next one...a lot of people also take years to get the first tattoo then its like they lose their fuckin mind!!!! and they start just jammin ink everywhere...don't be one of those people... RELAX PAL!!!...you have all the time in the world!!...TAz
My goal when getting new work is for my body not to end up like a Coloring Book gone wild. TAz you have a great point about the importance of forethought. What a difference that can make in all aspects of life! Three cheers for us overanalyzers~ Tima
Read the post from "bee" under the thread "how long did you research your tattoo"...it is very relevant to this thread as well. It is not only extremely important to put a lot of thought into the tattoo you get but equally important to choose your artist very carefully!!...TAz
Oh yeah, I know, i'll definately take time and not just jump into getting a new one all of a suddon. In fact, im not even talking so much about overanalyzing what to get, im talking about getting tattoos that sho off different heritages. Like I said, im mostly german and native american (cherokee), so i'd like to get tattoos that show those things, but im curious if you guys think its wrong to do both. It's probably not a big deal, but I just want to hear it from the experts ; )
