I'm here...In a much better frame of mind....Thanks all for allowing me the chance to blow last night ...did me a lot of good actually...and thanks for all those e-mails and personal calls...Krystof..you especially...thanks for the kind words and lettin me know that you are a friend bud!!..That phone call meant a lot to me...now back to biz!!...82 days till TAzfest...minus one artist but he has already been replaced....Danny "Buddah" Bin a freehand artist out of the LA area will be joining us...This young dude is BADD!!!!!...He actually manipulated his schedule just to come and hob nob with us!!...And check this out...Danny was the first artist offered a spot at Lindsay Lohans "studio"....I guess he told her agent when he called that he would only discuss it with Lindasy herself and then when she called he told her to take a flyin leap so he gets mucho points for that in my book...Way to go Buddah!! No no, Badger Balm is TAz' ointment of choice when it comes to healing tattoos..........................it's petroleum based like Vaseline, but better. I affectionately refer to it as Beaver Balm..........I think it's also available under the name Bag Balm. TCE

Taz, which Badger Balm is it that you're recommending? I did a google search and they have a bunch of various products (listing ingredients for,by the way) And wouldn't ya just know virgin olive oil is in it (magic Sicilian ingredent or what?) Seriously, which is it, I need/want to try it for a 'hard heal' I've got who went thru a transplant and just don't heal like he used to so I thought I'd give Badger Balm a try...Doc

Doc, I'm curious, just for comparison, what to you mean by 'hard heal'? How many weeks or months are we talking, and what does the skin look like? TCE

Tim, got a client I did a custom tribal/black work piece on about 7 weeks ago, about 2/3 the ink took, the other healed almost like he'd picked scabs, although I know he didn't (he knows better, I did work on him before he had a kidney transplant a couple years ago. The outline and much of the black is perfect but for some reason, again, it's blotchy in other parts. He talked to his doctors, got lots of theories, medications thought to be a possiblity but I ain't buying THAT (why would it only effect part?) Again, I've worked on him before, his other work healed perfectly but again, that was before his transplant. Since we're redoing it next Monday, I figured I'd give the Badger Balm a try this time, now I just need to know 'which' ...Doc

Thanks Doc, Some of that sounds like what happened with my last session back in May...................I've sent TAz pictures from after up until now, and from day one he assessed that the machine speed was too fast, effectively obliterating my skin. It is healing, albeit ever so slowly, and the itching at times is still ferocious, to the point of getting an automotive grade scrub brush and going to town! TAz gave me a new set of instructions so that we can get this in workable order. TCE

It's only 1 here...I still have about...4 hours till my bedtime, haha...insomnia O.o, woot. Actually not quite...I'm just on a bad schedule, no work = no reason to wake up in the morning.

It's almost 4 am here.. and I actually do have work tomorrow.. my first day of work.. so I really do need to be getting to bed soon.. 'cause my mom will kick my ass if she finds out how late I've been staying up recently.. but then.. I'm supposed to be working mostly 3rd shift.. so I gotta get my body into that jive.

Doc...I recommend Berts Badger Balm...the HEALING BALM...As for your hard heal client...part of the after care for any transplant is the heavy use of endo steroids ie..Prednisone etc not to be confused with the corticosteriodals.ie hydrocortisone...the prednisone and all of its successors create a susceptive environment in the body to facilitate the body accepting the organ in question instead of treating it like an metabolic enemy and attacking what it thinks is an enimical invasion into the body...for some unknown reason the effect is reversed in dealing with subcutaneous proceedures ie tattoos and seems to have an adverse effect on the healing process.in situ as it were. Ask your client if he was indeed prescribed predisone or any oral steroids ( and I sure he will tell you that he had been) and then I can guarantee with a 95% probability that the steroids are the reason for the healing problems. Hope that helps...TAz

haha, well I can see where that would suck. I on the other hand can't wait till I get back to working. I've been unemployed a wee bit too long for my tastes...but it's been a pain in the ass finding a job in so-cal.

Dont get me wrong i love my job, i do however not like how much time it takes out of my life. Its envitable i know but it sucks :(

I take it you work more than the average 8 hours a day? Even if not...yeah work takes up a pretty hefty portion of our life. It's good for us though. Hell, we fight enough WITH work...just imagine how much we'd fight without it

Yeh i work some pretty insane hours but its fun.... I just really wish that it didnt have to take up so much time. Fighting is good for us it keeps us all stimulated :)

More free time, something I'm sure most people want. I can't even imagine how busy I'll be once I find an apprenticeship. Between having a job, and going to school...I'm sure all my extra time will be spent at the shop...but that's fine with me.

Oh fix it! please :) Im an Event Registration Executive. I organise events from start to finish incorporating all aspects like operations, production etc.. I oragnise events for big coporate companies like Sony, Vodafone, Motorola, etc. :)

That's the plan. Though that's sort of in the future for me. Right now I'm just trying to get a good portfolio together, and while I'm doing that Im going to try and get some BBP and other health classes under my belt...so I'm probably looking at another year before I even start to look for apprenticeships...unless an opportunity comes up. The long term goal here is to eventually open my own shop. I'm young though, I've got plenty of time. So for now it's those shitty college jobs that just manage to pay rent. Thank GOD pencils and paper is cheap :)

Sounds like you have it all figured out, which is good as not many people have such a clear idea of the right steps to take in trying to become what they want. Right now my only plan is focused more on domestic stuff, buying a house with my fiance and getting married (although thats still a little way off). I have my dream job, now i just need to keep on building up my dream life :)

Yeah...I know the steps...now I just have to do the work and find the opportunities. Looks like you are well on your way to that dream life. I sort of hope I get my career rolling before I get caught up with a girl. I can sit here and say "I won't let a girl get in the way" and so on...HA, throw the right woman in my face and game over...then again, the right woman won't get in the way of my career ;)
