Just a very rough preliminary sketch of a large armpiece...I will update as it goes...I actually have done the tattoo but somehow we lost the pics but the nwxt time the client comes by I will get some snaps!...T

By the way the chrome look wing idea was stolen from my pal Kandyman Joe at Pure Imagination...You will see them on that awesome backpiece he did if ya go to his website! THanks Joe!!

Nice one TAz! I do like that chrome-wing treatment; an artist did something similar on the wings on the phoenix on my back; only it's darker and heavier... shiny lead, or gun metal, rather than chrome.

Another good one, Taz and I too like the 'chrome' effect AND the fact that ya gave props to where ya got the idea, shows some class/respect which is all too rare nowadays. judge not unless thee be judged first. taz and i know where we both stand together with each other he has always been fair ohnest and truthfull.i recently had the honor of meeting one of his neighbors from his area. yup everything taz said about him has come to truth.this kind of friendship is not given lightly,nor is it taken lightly so i say this to those that speak poorly of this artist. get a life find something better to do with your time and if ya aint got anything good to say then just shut the fuck up. wow i said all this without caps. hang tough my fellow friend.

Just popped by to look at it again, and noticed (again) the vaguely heraldic shield. Any special meaning?

Ras on the actual tattoo he had me letter" Sword of the Spirit" he was not a very open individual so I am in the dark about the heraldry ..the shield is simply aesthetic and out of the dark halls of my brain!

By the way Erlich (Don) I want to introduce you to my good buddy ( and possibly my Dad!) Dcotor John from Dr Jons tattoos up Detroit way kinda...hes an old fart too so you od wrinkled fuckers will get along great...Doc...this is Erlich...he is a past regular her and back now...hes about half crazy so you are gonna like him...there I did my duty!

Now kids, look at this drawing... and listen up. Here's my comments... Tazzle, fantasy is just not my thing. I just don't like it. Personal preference, nothing more than that. Same could be said for Salmon. Just because I don't like it, it's still good fish. I just don't like it. But that being said, I want all of you guys who are aspiring artists sending in your stuff for us to look at to look at this drawing and how well done it is... I can tell Taz that the helmet is a little bit skewed... know why I can say that? Because the rest of the drawing is so nicely balanced, so well done, with such attention to detail, that when something looks a little bit off, and I do mean a little bit, you can actually tell. That's the level of craftsmanship you ought to be shooting for... So anybody sending in your drawings for us to look at, you ought to be shooting for something like this because if I say "hey Taz, the helmet looks a little off", that's a super easy fix, and it's perfect. But before you can get to that point, you gotta be able to draw like this here man... or Doc John, or Krystof, or some of these other biggie regulars. But based on stuff like this, I'd say if you ask Taz what he thinks, if he tells you, you oughtta listen....

Taz I like it a lot. The head could be more symmetric. Right now it looks a bit skewed, both eye openings are not the same, one seems bigger than another. try using human character "ovals" rule. It always help. Just being a fucking perfectionist. Props to ya Taz.

Badass knight man. I really like how the shield has its own set of wings. It reminds me alot of those crazy ass arch-angels from the bible like Gabriel or Uriel. and to mamacat that a sweet little picture. I dont know if youve checked out Holly Ellis's gallery but some of the tattoos she does are really cool ones where someone will bring in a picture theyre kid drew and have it tattooed on them. Its actually pretty cool how she makes it look like drawn on in crayon.

i still think this drawings awesome. but anyways yea man. her stuff has this quirky style i really liked the skull in the chefs hat and the bride of christ, theyre really sweet plus jason tyler grace works at the same studio and his work is insane its got this crazy watercolor like feel to it. ive got two big tattoo projects worked out for this year too. im for sure going to go down to apple valley and get a Hunter S. Thompson portrait in the style of Ralph Steadman its from the book he did Gonzo. And i really want to get a full sleeve on my left arm in the theme of utopia. you know lots of colorful vibrant trees and plant life, animals all over in the background. and a couple of healthy looking people who look like they live off the land. and i was thinking it would be really awesome to get Holly and Jason to collaborate on it, as theyre studios so close to me and theyre tattoos are freaking awesome. and to you taz buddy if im ever your neck of the woods im for sure gonna stop and get some work done.

And if the moderator was smart and wants other professional tattoo artists to use this site he would delete all this crap. Not only does it make Taz look bad, it makes everyone else oook bad. It also makes the forum look very unproffesional. I am in many forums, and the second shit like this happens the moderator takes it down.

You know angel eyes and Taz, I can delete all the posts but until you put up your work, the voices int he night are going to call you out. I think all this drama sucks too, and theres one person who can bring it to a stop, Taz. All the deleting in the world wont help till he puts up or shuts up...

*sigh* No matter who you were talking about I would say the same damn thing. I think this has become more personal than anything. And yes, it would help if all of this was taken off. New people wouldn't have to see this drama. People would forget. As the administrator this isn't making you look very good either. One of my favorite sites is Jemsite. It's obvioulsly a guitar forum. It has many different sections which is awesome because there are certain things in the guitar world I could care less about. Anyway, if anyone decides to decide that they are God and start judging others, they are thrown off. All threads are deleted. It's called keeping order. And that is why many guitar collectors, which most of their guitars are worth 10's of thousands of dollars use that forum. If they saw shit like this they would go elswhere. If people want a certain artist, they will personally ask to see their portfolio. Most the time it won't matter if it is online. I look all the time, but if the artist isn't close, I am not going to go. The place I go to doesn't even have a website. It's all about reputation and word of mouth. I thought this forum was about people asking questions and wanting about tattoos, not about people judging each other.

Angel eyes, first up this is a 100% free public forum, no registration, anonymous postings, pretty much completely self-policing. If I we're to delete all the crap about people calling out Taz they would come back because censoring isnt going to solve the problem. I guess Im not about whitewashing things to make them seem different than they are. When the regulars let the threads go, they will fall off the bottom. It works pretty naturally. Again, I dont understand why people dont get it, while not everyone needs to have a public portfolio the fact is Taz spends a lot of time here and "tells it like it is" in rude ways so he kinda owes it to the public to show his portfolio. We're not talking about some artist somewhere who doesnt have a website, we're talking about a very vocal regular who is rude to my visitors when he sees fit. So, people will be rude back until he gives the public what it wants, clear photos of his tattoos. All the deleting in the world wont make Taz less visible or quell the voices in the night. What will take away their ammo is the tattoos that back up his words. It would help immensely if people would stop creating new topics. Lastly, this drama will lose us visitors... the way I see it is it would be easy for Taz to show the public his work, indeed I do feel that someone who is so visible on my website SHOULD show us his work. Thats my beef with Taz, he talks so big yet cant seem to get it together to show us the work that backs up the talk so the drama follows. I dont like it, and Taz could stop it simply. It amazes me that people still wonder why this is happening.... I try very hard not to spend too much time working on this forum, hence its wide open format. I tend to be over busy doing what TattooNOW is here for, promoting leading custom tattoo artists to the public. Sure, 2-3 thousand folks read this soap opera every day, but 20,000 are checking out the image galleries. As soon as Taz shows his work and the drama dies down, then the forum will be back to normal in 3 days. The sites been growing like mad since 2001, I dont see this BS slowing down anytime soon...

I will add that I do know that Taz helps lots of people too. The fact is our visitors have always gotten very solid answers from a variety of artists but drama follows Taz for the resons chatted about. So, while Taz has added a lot to the forum, all this drama doesnt make it worth it in the long run to me... I hope he takes the steps necessary to stop it.

You might consider not having the board moderated. I'm on a few good boards that are not moderated and while things can and do get heated from time to time, they ALWAYS sort themselves out. This way you don't have to stress out and can focus on your other areas here on TattooNow? Seriously.

And, Taz is not the only rude person on this forum, Gabe. I seem to recal you challenging a lot of points i've made. And, on any heated subject, everyone seems to jump on everyone else. So stop making Taz the scapegoat.

Just to be clear Gabe...I DO NOT want you to delete ANY of this silly assed posts...I WANT people to see them and judge for themselves....don't waste your time deleting them...waste of your time and I know how busy you are.....and I don't believe for a minute that drama on a forum loses visitors and I would be willing to bet its just the opposite...now to address the Put up or shut up...I have and am...the Pinups are an ongoing project that will be updated weekly so people can the start to finish of the tattoo process from the very inception...the rough preliminary skteches, line work shade and color....an educational thing that I thought would be a great idea....I just wish I knew enough to be able to put a video on HERE ...I will be doing a video soon so maybe you can help me get it posted and I think that will put ALL the bullshit in a basket...TAz
