my tattoo is falling out

3 messages · last activity 7/8/2011

so i got a tattoo this past Saturday at a very reputable shop, by a licensed artist. i've been taking very good care of it, keeping it clean, and putting the lotion on it and what not. i've even been wearing loose clothes so as not to have elastic cutting into it. i don't pick at it or anything, i just let it do its thing. i don't even touch it unless im putting lotion on or washing it. im using unscented lotion and soap. there doesn't seem to be any allergic reaction, no redness, bumps, swelling, irritation, nothing. im doing everything im supposed to, to let it heal properly. this being said, the ink is disappearing. not just fading... some patches are just fuckin gone. wtf? i don't know if he just didn't press hard enough or what. but he is experienced and all so i don't think that's it. i've been around tattoos long enough to know this isn't supposed to happen. the shop and artist guarantees their work, so i can go in for a free touch-up if ever i need to. but i want to know what the deal is first. i was wondering if some people's skin just doesn't hold ink or what, because if thats the case, i wont bother wasting his or my time with touching it up. thanks for anybody who can help.
Sounds like you feel as though the artist is on the up and up. Give him a call. Could be a bunch of different things. I'm sure he's seen it before. GL
I'm having the same exact problem. Did you ever find out what it was? email me at [email removed] please. I have over fifty tattoos and haven't ever had this problem before so I am stumped...
