Dude, I don't know about you guys, but about all that I keep that myspace page for is for some basic info about myself. Other than that, it's slow, time-consuming, and pretty much useless. It'll burn itself out eventually.

Al, I don't have a MySpace account (or whatever it is), the only thing I've ever seen on it worth checking out was that Wynette chicks profile, and the rest of it just looks like a bunch of people trying to look like they've got the 'in's'. But who the hell contacts another member begging to be their 'friend'? It seems pathetic. TattooNOW was the first forum I've seen that looked worthwhile, and it's the first one I've EVER posted on, all based on the way some of the regulars presented themselves and their views on a myriad of subjects besides just tattoos. And everyone is being themselves, good, bad, or indifferent, but usually honest. TCE

Myspace has its uses however it IS overused and over rated...but its been around a while and I don't think its going away anytime soon... I have made some good contacts and found some pretty decent friends on there...its the inherent spam and desperate people looking for sex and the prostitots that I can't stomach!...TAz Oh and the almost unending self advertisement for a certain tattoo shop in Atlanta and the endless dumbass survey bulletins from people with no lives!...I have a policy if someone on my friends list sends out more than one survey in a day I automatically delete them and block any further contact!!!

rut roh. good chance taz might delete me in the future.... i end up doing those damn surveys when i'm stuck on conference calls. otherwise i fall asleep. (although i've been getting better about not re-posting them) as for myspace as a whole, i prefer it to email. i've it set up so that i'm '14' on there so the spam and crud stopped. plus, i don't get all the annoying messages from bands and strangers asking me to add them as a friend. instead, what i DO get, is the knowledge that if i've a message -- that it's from someone i know rather than junk. which is more than i can say for my email accounts that get overwhelmed with spam (bulk email picks up over 300/day!!). plus myspace let's me creep on strangers and there are games on there to keep me entertained... nother nice thing? let's you cheat -- instead of sending out the same email to everyone -- you can just post it on your bulletin and it will hit all your friends at the same time. hmm. i could make a commercial.

I originally did the myspace thing because it was a simple way to keep in touch with my little sis. But after being on for a little while, I found people that I went to high school with, and some people that I had been stationed with that I had lost their contact info and stuff. I don't really do anything on it other than talk to people that I already know. I hate the bulletins, I hate the friend requests from stupid people. I just like being able to share pictures and stuff. It's a quick way to stay updated, I guess. And, that's how TAz, the artist formerly known as Cactus Al and TCE got to see who I was. :o) theval

Nothing against Myspace...I can see it's uses.....but I just feel lame even thinking about creating a profile on there. And I have seriously considered it at times. Some people obviously spend way to much time pimping out their pages. How do they learn all that damn HTML code anyways? I think this is why I never went to the prom,or grad-nite, and always skipped pep-rallys..... I have this "i'm too cool for that" mentality.... Oh well, I thought by age 30 it would be gone.... I love myspace....we (my band Ritual Fixx) have been able to reach a huge audience through myspace. Plus the fact it's free! I have gotten almost all our shows through there. Our pics, music and biography are all on there for people to see. Only signed up with it to see some of the pics some of the posters refer to, can't really figure out much as to how to use it, let alone how to use it to send people to my website. Any of you youngsters that could give an old guy some clues? The 'friends' thing seem a bit pathetic but hey, it's part of the computer thing, I guess...Doc

Hey Doc, really the best use for it is to let people see your artwork, and also so you can see them as well. The whole friends thing just allows you to comment on other peoples stuff, or email. em. It's just that without being their "Friend" you aren't able to do that. That's all.
