I'm starting to put together a portfolio with some of my most decent looking flash to take with me on my search for an apprenticeship. But so far all I have are black and grey sheets.I would like to have a variety to add to my folder .Can anyone give some advice on what are some good colored pencils, watercolor?,Also I would like to read up on some reference books on drawing flash, advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you . Jay-Dee
PRISMACOLOR Are the way to go, little pricey but they are the artists pencil or marker of choice. You will also need a "blending stump" and a "Kneeded eraser" if you don't have them. As for books on flash, all I do is study they drawings of others (no not copy) and see how they blended and painted their work. Any tattoo mag you buy will be a resource...what works for them may not work for you but it's a start M
Thanks for your advice ,I'm going to pick up a set of pencils when I get of work today.I'm going to wait for the I.E. tattoo convention to pick up some books with flash any advice on titles?
