Hi,
Can anyone recommend a tattoo artist in the Los Angeles or SoCal area who REALLY KNOWS what they're doing when it comes to repair work? I have a dragon tattoo on my back that needs to be touched up and changed a bit. It's basically just a 5-year-old outline that looks like crap. I want this to look fantastic, and I want to find someone who will listen to my ideas and get the job done RIGHT. Anybody know where to go in LA or surrounding areas?
If you have an answer for me, PLEASE EMAIL ME instead of replying to this topic thread, since I'll probably forget about this board in 2 days. My email is rkulchar @ umich.edu. Thanks so much!

Ill reply here as well as email so folks that search the forums with the same question will get the answer too! (Also, you could have searched the archives to find some recommendations if you weren't surfing so fast!).
In any event, I would check out Mike Devries and have him do a bad ass dragon tattoo.
I would just go to hollywood blvd or venivce beach, theres tons of shops down there. Jjust ask who does the best work for the cheapest price at each place and some one will help you out , Im sure. Hope this helps.
Ha! Thats definitely the way to go, price shop for your back piece coverup. Just make sure you get all liquered up first!
there are tons of good shops and tattooers in those areas. i definately wouldnt go with the advice of price shopping. usually when you start wheeling and dealing with an artist it will turn them off from working on what could be a fun project. plus any good tattooer will not be looking for work as theyre usually booked up and arent starving.
in the la area there is spotlight tattoo where you have bob roberts charlie roberts and juan puente. then theres sunset strip tattoo with greg james. robert atkinson does great work im not sure what shop hes at. riley baxter does nice work also. i cant remember the name of his shop.
in the socal area which i assume would be san diego you could go to avalon1 or avalon 2. fip does great work at avalon 2.
just remember take your time search out the artist you feel is right for you. after all like you said you had this outline on your back for 5 years so apparently theres been no quick rush to get it worked on. whats the big deal if you have to wait another 3-6 months. good luck and let us know what happens.
