My 16-yr-old nephew just lost his dad, and wants to get a memorial tattoo.
He asked me to help him design it, I am honored.
But he wants it on his forearm.
He wants, "RIP in a shaded dark cloul, then a crown, then
"dad" in a faded cloud.
I have a couple of issues for him, first, the forearm, I think he should get it where it can be covered by a short sleeved shirt since he's only 16, and doesn't yet know what he wants to do as a profession, and the "RIP" seems dark and gloomy to me.
I would love suggestions and advice on this.
Right now he's emotional, and still very young, I want him to make the right choices for himself.
I love the idea of a memorail tattoo, but need advice from all you ink people on this.
I also would love examples of crowns, everyone I try to draw looks like the flippin burger king crown
Thank you
BTW, he does have my sister's, his mothers permission to get one. It's up tp me to help him make the right choice and design.
His dad was inked all over his body, but could wear a short sleeved shirt and you couldn't tell.
I think
Need HELP, DAD RIP tattoo

Can a 16-year-old get a tattoo with a parents consent at a licensed shop?
I'm afraid he'll go to a garage somewhere and get it, that's why I'm asking, that's why I want to help him make the right choices.
dude wheres the fire, wait till 18, besides its bad pratice to tattoo minors.
ok, that's what I wanted, different opinions L(
There's no fire, he's just extremley raw kid right now, he just lost his dad, a dad who had a LOT of tattoos, and I think this is his way of honoring him
I don't want him going to some junk garage to get a botched tattoo
What should I do? If not help him make a sound and reasonable choice?
Do you not agree that the forearm is a wrong choice?
I know he's too young, I know thee's plenty of time to decide on a perm. tat, but we are talking about a a kid who has his mind set, and if I can help him make a choice that will help him in the future shouldn't I try to do that?
I'm asking for help on this
Not judgement, please. Thank you.
I think the fire for him is the emotional attachement with his dad.

calm down dear...... if youre adamant, and i know people who've done this before to be honest, then yes i would say steer away from the forearm, theres a huge difference between being 16 and 20. i only say what i say because i know what most tattooists would think about tattooing underage, most dont want to compromise their integrity, its bad for business. you know what im saying dude. good luck anyway.
